How would you define those activities in the first place? Would this work for type of products/features/services that are brand new? What would be an activity that preceeds and one that follow user story mapping?
Hi! What's the difference between product details and preview of product, in yoir case? Also, why would you split signing up with facebook vs other social media? why not have it together in one task?
Is it just me or does "Ship the product" feel misplaced here? It seems like something the company is expected to do rather than the user, since after paying, it should be out of the user's hands.
yes totally. same with signing up. nobody wants to sign up but the company - so from a user centred process its more like find it - examine it - buy it - receive it
You're right. A story map needs to be thought from perspective of a "user persona". In this case, merchant and buyer would be different persona. Here's a more detailed explanation - ua-cam.com/video/GkuSxQflnaw/v-deo.html
Hello, UXClub thank you for this video. I have a Question " If I am working on a new feature can I use story map for that?" or story mapping is only for the new product?
You can create story maps for different persona and features (user goals). Most tools don't allow for that... so you end up with a lot of disconnected story maps for your product. Here's a better way - ua-cam.com/video/GkuSxQflnaw/v-deo.html
Wait, how can you go from user stories and prioritising for development? Don't you mean prioritising for interface design? How can a developer go from user stories straight into code
No it's not. User STORY Mapping is a way of prioritizing a backlog of user stories. You should already have a made a User JOURNEY Map before conducting USM workshops to understand how your user completes a certain task/tasks by mapping out the steps they take to get there. You add things like their pain points and touchpoints to help better understand their overall experience and in turn create user centric user stories.
I believe user story was in another video, which I can't find on the Channel. You read the user story and that's how you come up with those tasks. For example, the user story could be: As a Nike owner, I would like the shoppers to visit my website to shop for shoes, and preferably register with my website.
It was great but the third activity of "add to basket" has one task called "add to wish list" clearly doesn't fit under it. It's very presumptuous. Instead wish list should be an activity and written in pink post-it and it will be something that won't be touched on the first release, for example.
It is called "user story mapping" and yet you used activities and tasks as if it was a "customer journey map". Other references link user stories to epics to provide end-to-end representation of user stories, which I think makes much more sense. Can you please clarify. Here is a better explanation: ua-cam.com/video/svquaeyKg5E/v-deo.html
The world needs people like you.
thank you for the video and arranging your magnets so perfectly.
LOL, I was thinking the same thing. :P
But four magnets more would have made a huge difference
@@KlausEvenEnevoldsen or two out of sight :).
How would you define those activities in the first place?
Would this work for type of products/features/services that are brand new?
What would be an activity that preceeds and one that follow user story mapping?
Thank you so much, this is very helpful. You made identifying the task so simple.
0:06 I don't understand, video?? also full course link is down. cheers
where i can find the next video of story prioritization in story mapping?
Great video. I notice "ship product" - this isn't something the user does, could you explain this? Thanks
Great video! Is there a second part?
I was looking for it too! doesn't seem to be!
Where is the video mentioned at the start? ->> Benefits of a User Story Map
Anyone knows where is the next video about prioritizing?
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Have a great day. 🗓 👍
Hi! What's the difference between product details and preview of product, in yoir case?
Also, why would you split signing up with facebook vs other social media? why not have it together in one task?
What is the difference between "Save for later" and "add to a Wishlist"?
Can user stories be used in any industry? Can be used in housing to define requirements?
do we have to pay for part II?
Great teacher
Wow, this is really awesome, I really appreciate your hard work. This was really helpful!!!!! THANK YOU
I can´t find part 1 :/
broken link
Hey Arturo... checkout this video. explains the benefits of a story map in more detail - ua-cam.com/video/GkuSxQflnaw/v-deo.html
Nice work! A good example.
How to write the user stories without ambiguity? Give some tips
Hi i couldn't find part 2
Is it just me or does "Ship the product" feel misplaced here? It seems like something the company is expected to do rather than the user, since after paying, it should be out of the user's hands.
yes totally. same with signing up. nobody wants to sign up but the company - so from a user centred process its more like find it - examine it - buy it - receive it
I also feel the same, find a product and examine a product feels like overlapping.
You're right. A story map needs to be thought from perspective of a "user persona". In this case, merchant and buyer would be different persona. Here's a more detailed explanation - ua-cam.com/video/GkuSxQflnaw/v-deo.html
Tracking the shipment should have been an activity instead of shipping.
I think he meant choosing the type of shipping, international or local.
You nailed it. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

You can, and I'm sure you have by now.

Is this the same thing as "User/Customer Journey Mapping" ?
Yes

So where are the userstories? Also, how do you arrive at these tasks?

As a Nike owner, I would like the shoppers to visit my website to shop for shoes, and preferably register with my website.

thanks
Awesome!
This is not a "how to". This is an example only. There is 0 explanation on what it is, even...
Finally someone who sees that
Looks like he covered that in an earlier video. This one has a more detailed explanation - ua-cam.com/video/GkuSxQflnaw/v-deo.html
Disclaimer: No users were involved in the making of this video...
Thanks mate
Good video but why are you writing on sticky notes on a whiteboard. A WHITEBOARD!?!?
It was great but the third activity of "add to basket" has one task called "add to wish list" clearly doesn't fit under it. It's very presumptuous. Instead wish list should be an activity and written in pink post-it and it will be something that won't be touched on the first release, for example.
Thanks.
he must really like red..
link is broken XD XD XD, best UX
Suggestion: don't write with a pink pen on pink stickies.
That's a black marker my dude.

So beautiful accent :)
using red marker on pink paper, very bad choice, 0/10 on UX.
hi your hand tattoo looking bad....looking bad everything bad
The video is great. But I have to mention that the sound of marker on paper drives me crazy. I cannot listen stand it.
Where is part 2?
