- The Blazer EV RS is finally here and Chevrolet wants to go after the competition. On the outside you will discover 21in wheels, FULL LED lighting and sporty shape. On the inside you will be greeted by a 2-tone interior, massive infotainment screen and digital gauge cluster. Power the Blazer EV RS are two electric motors. It's SHOCKING just how poor the Blazer EV has been to the point where GM had to order dealers to stop selling them.
60k is up there, but love the looks and interior. Much nicer than a Tesla imo. Great color combo. Need to make Target runs with that red .

I wish they made like a low end model. Single motor, same long range batter pack. Doesn’t need all those fancy bells and whistles like automatic charge door opener. Cloth seats etc. Something more family friendly AND cheaper than the base price it has right now.
Yeah 60 K but they give you a $7500 government rebate. The RS package is also free.

Lot of people says it's expensive, but I literally got this car for $299.77/m on 24 months lease term 10k miles/yr. mind you I paid $0 on signing! take advantage of the rebates & incentives they offer now! As you all know EV sales market are slumping that's why they're going for cheap to lease!
I hope I can get a deal like that tomorrow I do wantto lease
The great thing about this design is that if it doesn't work out as a pure EV, it could still work as a 4-cylinder hybrid, while still giving Camaro levels of performance...

2) The answer is no, it's definitely not. And isn't it still on Stop Sale? The Blazer software issues is yet another in a series of problems with GM trying to get these EVs launched. Until they execute and prove that they can do this correctly without these kinds of problems to prove that they can actually do software reliably, I'm steering clear of the new GM EVs

They’ve been terrible at making regular cars for decades. Let’s put faith in them in making an EV. Can’t get any worse. Oh the stop sale already. About as predictable as death, taxes and GM failing.
I have driven this for a week. Sport mode gives you I would guess a .5 sec quicker quarter mile. The noise you are hearing below 25mph is the pedestrian warning. Over all I think it is a very nice vehicle. May need to give it some time but it will be very good in the longer run.

Overall, I really like the Blazer EV! But there's something just a little fishy about this vehicle, that I can't quite put my finger on.🤔😆
Identical to mine. Except I don't have pinstriping and I have single drive and a panoramic roof(sunroof). I love ours. Love the one pedal driving. I rides so smooth. Best car we have ever bought.
That must be a shady dealership. They put terrible pinstripes on a car that doesn't have body lines that even work with stripes. Have to push those non-optional dealer installed accessories. Those pinstripes probably added $349, but cost $5. I bet they also have another $1000-1500 on top for useless paint and interior protection, window tint, nitrogen in the tires, etc.
You just dont buy anything from dealers that install all the extra bull shit.
I like the design but those red seats are a huge zonk for me.

There's a stop on sales on the EV. There's some glitch with the software in vehicle.

The Blazer has come a looooong way from the early 2000's. Only working class Hispanic families used to own these, now the appeal is larger and I may consider getting one myself.

Love how GM said they are coming out with affordable EV’s…Then all they come out with is the high tier models and don’t make the starter models. Why pay 60k when you can buy a regular blazer for over 15k less. Makes zero sense.
$60k is a no from me. Could just buy the Cadillac at that price.

What should be a zonk is that black pinstriping. I feel that breaks the sculpting on the fenders and looks better on a slab-sided car like those of the 90s and 00s.

Would never buy from this dealer with BS no value adds like the 90s pinstripes and tacky black door edge guards. Probably added nitrogen air tires, VIN etch and appearance protection too...and all for only $5,000! 🙄🤦♂️

I like the Blazer EV, but I'm holding out for the Honda Prologue. Carplay, sunroof, having for Honda for software, purchase, and service are all a big plus. I'm another vote for strong preference for traditional interior, with real hard buttons for climate control. I'm a computer guy, but can't stand being screen only for controls like this (Tesla et al). I really don't want my car to feel like an iPad on wheels, steering yoke, no turn signal stalks. Glad GM and Honda haven't done that here.

No panoramic roof is a major zonk at that price for sure. Interior is on point. Chevy is ahead of the curve when it comes to EV’s
this is the infamous EV with 20+ reported problems?
I love it I have 24 rs ev I'm at 3k miles I get over 300 miles on full charge zero issues so far one time the hatch opened and froze half way other than that no issues

That’s a great color red seat though. If I was gonna get red seats, I would hope they’d be that bright. I don’t care for the dark red seats. But it does have very high-end looking materials.

Joe was very generous with this walk-thru - slow arse charging door, no sunroof...those I might be able to get over...but then you remove Apple Carplay. Nah. I was soooooo excited for this vehicle, now I'm searching for a better option.

That charging door was painfully slow to close. And how much power does it take to open? Does it have its own source, or something in reserve? Does it open it if the car is dead? I would assume, but you know what they say…

GM man for life… 92 Buick LaSabre 290,000; 02 Oldsmobile Intrigue GLS 212,000 miles; 03 Buick Regal 280,000 miles; 14 Cadillac ATS… Current 168,000 miles!!!! the only major problem with any of these vehicles was the intrigue six cylinder drank oil like I drink water😂
So, like I said, definitely on my list for my first EV.

The numbnuts at GM put in 45 sidewall tires on a heavy EV, in a time where potholes are omnipresent here in California, which happens to be the largest market for cars ON THE PLANET per population. GM's battery factories are not operating correctly; their factory automation provider couldn't get it built, so they have been hand operating what was supposed to be a robotized factory. Consequently they have only 10% of their battery supply, so they are pricing this product so high so as to dissuade customers. It will work of course, but GM is seriously doomed if they can't get their act together. Barra is a weak leader and should have fired a bunch of VP's.
In the meantime Tesla is going to rip them to shreds.

As an owner of a Ariya that cost me 48k I don’t think the extra 12k for the Blazer is worth it even though I think it looks better than the Ariya.

I lived that experience Joe, I had 77 K5, silver, no back seat, 350, 4 speed ( well, 3 speed really), always had that back cap off, put in a Craig stereo cassett player, Jensen speakers, BF Goodrich all terrains , with Warn hubs, ya had to get out and lock in, IT WAS A BLAST of a truck

I really get the DIMWIT logo. Very appropriate! & that’s with the rebates that Elon HATES because he thinks incompetence shouldn’t be subsidized. Now, back to my MYLR, M3P, & CT, that only needs service when hit by non-FSD Legacies, thank you!
It looks pretty nice but i'm just not yet sold on being stuck with a full EV, I still prefer the option of a Hybrid so that you can use the ICE when the battery runs down, lots of the Hybrids have a 400-500 mile range.

I love the design and color choices, but I'm waiting for the SS model to be released later in the year. However, the pricing is interesting to say the least, the Blazer runs on the same platform as the Cadillac Lyric and the Lyric is priced just $3,000 more with a higher trim level and better materials. GM is definitely positioning this vehicle as a premium choice.

Nice car, but then i think about how terrible condition many roads are in, a lot of debris on the road, extreme weather, distracted drivers, aholes who ram their door into your in parking lots. Id buy this thing and keep it in the garage lol

When I see a vehicle price I think about the affordability to others and how it could impact the company selling a vehicle. “Get a better job” is an ignorant comment and shows you don’t understand economics. Now if Chevy/GM is marketing to higher income earners that’s a different story.
Nice review and well done with no annoying music or hype but…. I love our Bolt EUV and really want to love the Blazer because we want something a little bigger but the Blazer EV does have a little more sticker shock and puts us very near a Lyriq and looking forward to the Equinox if a little less expensive. But, back to Infotainment…. GM seems to be shooting themselves in the foot on their EV rollout. First the commercial, about a year ago now, was great and made me want to go out and buy one, which we did but we had to deposit 1000 and then wait. Same thing now, no blazer or Equinox on the lots to test drive. But Infotainment??? What’s in there as far as music? They announced No Appleplay which pissed off a lot of people and they are not telling us what you do get. The Google Playstore has Apple and Amazon music so if you can get that, problem solved. But no one including salespeople know what you can get. Can you answer that question? What music apps can you get in the GM EV’s infotainment centers. And yes I’m waiting for the Prologue because I have a CRV hybrid that I’m trading but also Honda is keeping Appleplay. Thanks!!!
