Ive been saying that for years. Heck the brain isn't fully developed until 25. So no one should enter academy until 23. Do a 2 yr programme and end with associate's degree, bachelor's degree or master's degree depending on previous education level. Need more externships shadowing many LEOs in different demographic cities, diff demo of the LEO and diff depts (vice, homicide, art theft, forgery, robbery, auto theft, beat street patrol).🤦♀️🤦♀️ learn combat, marksmanship, self defense, mental health issues and awareness, sensitivity training, non lethal deterrents. Simulation with a fake gun and shooter scenarios to test racial biases. Do you miss the white pregnant mum with a pram and an uzi, but shoot the black man in a hoodie with a harmonica in his hand? I can tell you from firsthand experience that this seems to be a trend in law enforcement. I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Not saying all women cower under dangerous and stressful situations, but a good majority do.

Many women aren’t cut out for front line street police work. They often hesitate at exactly the wrong moment while also lacking the physical strength of the average man. Sadly, she displayed the behavior in a pressure situation which many male officers have come to expect of female officers through experience.
I was in the Army ( Infantry ) and I was in law enforcement after the military. I never had a female partner, and from what I saw of them in law enforcement, I am glad I never did. Not trying to be mean about it, but I just never saw a female officer with a warrior mindset, one who would put their life at risk to save their partner, one who could react swiftly and decisively to a threat encounter. I think certain traits for responding to hazardous situations are just hard wired into male brains more so than female brains.

All entry level police should be military veterans, have BS in criminal justice and of course graduate the academy.
Vets don't always make good cops...you need a well rounded and diverse police force.
