「ゴールデンアックス」によく似た、奥行きのあるタイプの横スクロールアクションゲーム。それというのも、このゲームは「ゴールデンアックス」の開発チーム「チーム忍(後のAM1研)」が手がけた作品である。今作では、通常の横スクロールステージに加え、高速スクロールステージや、3Dステージが登場したことで、他の横スクロールアクションゲームとは少し違った作品となっている。特に3Dステージでは画面内のあらゆる物を破壊可能で、中にはライフやエネルギーを回復するアイテムが登場する。エンディングのBGMは必聴である。
ストーリー:
普段は、屋台でホットドッグを売っている「GORDON」「KARLA」「SCOOTER」の3人。だがエイリアンが出現した瞬間、彼らは優秀なエイリアンバスターに変身するのである。ど派手なそれぞれの武器を使って、宇宙からの侵略者を手当たりしだい撃ちまくれ。

A side-scrolling beat-em-up in which up to 3 players take on the role of one of 3 futuristic warriors. The game heroes are charged with destroying the hoards of repulsive aliens who are invading the Earth. Many of the aliens are disguised as a variety of everyday street objects; such as telephone booths, oil cans, trash cans and mailboxes. The aliens reveal their true forms as the warriors approach.
Each of the 3 heroes carries their own individual weapon; Gordon has his plasma gun, Karla has a flamethrower and Scooter has an electric whip. At the end of each level, the warriors will enter a building and the shoot-em-up action will switch to a first-person perspective.

Released in May 1990 in Japan.
Alien Storm was the second game in Sega's System 18 motherboard series.
Gilius, the dwarf from "Golden Axe", appears as a judge in the final voting. The player characters from "Golden Axe" appear in the TVs of the first-person shooting levels.
This game features an odd option: by pushing the service mode button you enter a menu with the usual configuration options, the last one allows machine owner's to put their own store name in the introduction of the game (Led sign in the Alien Busters van).
Pony Canyon / Scitron released a limited-edition soundtrack album for this game (Hyper Drive : G.S.M. Sega 4 - PCCB-00035) on 21/07/1990.

ホットドッグ屋が防衛チームに変わるセンスがイカしてる
ちゃんとスコアでてるんだけどロボのサボってる感とステージ2に入ってすぐにガキを鞭でシゴゥしゃげたる鬼畜感がとてもいい。
名作キタ懐かしいw
I think it's a crime that so many remind much of Golden Axe, but leaving Alien Storm aside... It's a very remarkable game both visually and audio in general as well.

Right up there with Golden Axe Revenge of Death Adder, Dynamite Cop and Arabian Fight.

the running jump shoot was pritty OP in the mega drive version though few people remember it.

「SPIDERMAN」は一人でクリアできたけど、このゲームは難しくて
2面か3面まででいつも終わりました。エンディング初めて見ました。
エンドクレジット、カッコいいですね～。3人の運命は…。

3人プレイははじめて観ました。チーム・シノビ最後の作品。これだけクリアしなかった。今思えば凄く後悔してます(^_^;)

In 198X, I went to a arcade beside supermarket called "Gama". I still remember I changed RM10 for 50 coins (20 cents per coin). I keep on continue the game, I want clear all stages. Unfortunately, all 50 coins finished still cannot clear all stages, 😂. I play this game bcs I played Golden Axe, they hv same characters.

@@quintinmorse26 In my interpretation, it was implied that the trio was orbiting the planet while they were wrapped in the bubble or capsule to escape the explosion of the enemy mother ship. And so the "Alien Burgers/Busters" van somehow went into space to get the three of them to safety.
