I just ordered this one from Crutchfield. So, we’ll see how it goes. It has the features I wanted, and at a good price point to replace a radio in a 11 year old truck.👍🏻👍🏻
It's great to hear that you are enjoying your new Boss Audio head unit! With the built-in EQ settings on a stereo, you typically just need to try a few different adjustments to see what sounds best for your personal listening preferences. But if you run into any issues and purchased it from Crutchfield, just give our Tech Support staff a call at the phone number listed on your invoice.
I bought the 850 last year and it has been working great except recently there seems to be a 5-10 second delay between shifting into reverse and having the unit display the back up camera. I tried doing a factory reset but the problem persists. There is an adjustment in the menu for setting the delay but it does not work. It is set on ”S” and will not let me adjust it. Also, my steering wheel controls stopped working about the same time the delay started occurring. Anything else I should be looking at?
We are not aware of any other settings in a receiver that could adjust the delay and recommend contacting technical support for help troubleshooting the issue. If it was purchased from us, we recommend contacting our technical support. We include their toll free phone number on the order invoice
If my car already has a microphone for voice control and hands-free calls, will I still need to install the mic provided in the box with the radio or will the radio be able to use the factory one, provided i buy the required adapters?
We do not have a way to adapt a factory installed microphone to work with the Bluetooth/voice control interface on an aftermarket radio such as this Boss model. You will need to install the microphone that comes with the new radio.
I'm in the middle of installing this bad boy in my car, my question is there an audio jack on it? I'm trying to program my steering control buttons with an AXSWC but I'm not sure if I can plug the jack to the back or do I have to split some wires? thanks.
It appears this receiver does have the ability to work with optional steering wheel radio control interfaces like the Axxess model you listed. The manual does not indicate which color the wire is but it does appear that the hookup may be just a bare wire. We recommend that you contact technical support for help confirming this to ensure you are using the correct one. If you purchased your gear from us, you can contact our technical support for help using their toll free phone number we include on the order invoice.
I had the BV800ACP installed today. The microphone doesn’t seem to work. I can accept calls however no one can hear me speak. Is there a specific setting to make it work.
HI Marlo, sorry to hear that. Be sure to double check that the microphone is connected and mounted close enough to where you are speaking. From there, be sure and double check your Bluetooth settings on the radio. Boss offers those instructions on page 18 of the manual here: pdf.crutchfieldonline.com/ImageBank/v20210908175400/Manuals/104/104BV800AC.PDF If you got the radio here, you can call our Tech Support. Ok so i am fairly new to car audio systems. I wanted to ask about the outputs on this stereo. I have a rca spliced into my factory stereo harness for a 10 inch sub. If i plug in the left and right input wires into the radio will the subwoffer work like that? also what do i do about the remote wire?
I have a question before I purchase this radio, does it support steering wheel controls via the adapter box I have the adapter I just wanna make sure this system is capable of connecting to it first. Thank you!
I'm still looking through products as I just got my vehicle, but would this product happen to have a sort of "wireless screen share" feature for android?

How You Doing I Got A Question I Just Got Done Looking Your Video About This Boss System And I'm Really Thinking About Getting It But My Question Is Could I Do Wireless Android Auto With Bluetooth Or Would I Have To Plug It In
Had a friend install my BV800ACP (purchased from Crutchfield) into my 2015 Ford F250. He connected the camera power to the trailer wiring harness at the rear of the vehicle near where the camera is mounted. When I shift into reverse, the camera lights up that it has power but I have to manually switch to backup camera in the radio UI. When I take it out of reverse the screen says signal lost and have to manually switch back to the radio. Also now having issues with connecting a trailer so I know this is not the correct solution. He said he wasn't sure on the rear camera power wire from the radio and the reverse output from the truck as they were both outputs and didn't want to connect them to each other and left both unconnected.
The fact that the radio does not automatically bring up the backup camera video suggests that its Reverse wire was not connected. Or not connected to a wire in the vehicle that becomes active when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. Wiring interfaces used to install radios can often provide that reverse wire connection for a new radio. Also, it is possible to get power for the reverse camera from other locations so the trailer wiring can be restored to the way it was before the camera was installed. We give lifetime technical support on items purchased from us. Our technicians can help with any questions that come up including the best place to get power for cameras and the reverse trigger for the radio. We include their toll free phone number on the order invoice!
The Boss BV800ACP features a built-in AM/FM tuner with manual, seek, and preset tuning. The Boss BV800ACP is not "XM Ready" and is not compatible with the SiriusXM SXV300V1 tuner for built-in XM radio. You can still use the XM app on your connected smartphone for XM listening!
