@Vincent: Could you eventually check the following on the A95L:
It appears on my 77" A95L using the integrated tuner for cable, sat etc.
After opening the full screen guide (channel list) it stutters mostly, when you scroll through the list
After closing the full screen guide - there is some extreme oversharpening on the TV picture

    • @troy5568
      @troy5568 8 місяців тому +3

It's cheaper because it cannot match the Sony Reference Monitor's full-field brightness capability and consistency at all.
The BVM-X300 can do 2000 nits on a full window-size for hours and only have temporary image retention, which goes away after a few minutes. This QD-OLED, however, can also achieve 2000 nits full-field brightness, but it can only do it ONCE and then it would barely make it anything beyond 500 nits again even in 10% window only. LOL

@Manuel.Medellin that's hilarious calling somebody a fanboy unprompted while also being a different kind of fanboy at the same time 😂

Colorists are working with still pictures ... therefore this reference monitor can only be used for SDR productions with 100 nits.
For an HDR production it is essential using a monitor capable of maintaining 1,000 nits even on full field white screens for hours.
THIS reference monitor performs not even close to e.g. a Sony BVM-HX310 ... it may be used for SDR production like the former BVM-X300 ... or for reviews of the work results.
For reviews of the results consumer tvs from LG and Panasonic are already well-established ... and these are WAY cheaper ... leaving only SDR color grading as an efficient use case.
At least it is cheaper and larger as a BVM-X300 ... but these days getting an expensive reference monitor NOT capable of HDR ... doesn't make sense at all.

@@gamenerd5665 Read again ... especially the 1st sentence.
Besides from that this is NOT about QD-OLED and WRGB-OLED ... WRGB-OLED in general is NOT appropriate for reference monitors !
NONE of the mentioned real reference monitors uses QD-OLED or WRGB-OLED ... one is a DUAL-Layer LCD ... and the other one is a true RGB-OLED.
You'd better read carefully prior to typing bs with no reference to the original post.

@@gamenerd5665 This year WRGB OLED Panasonic MZ2000 and QD-OLED Sony A95L will be very close in picture quality. Just like last year with the WRGB OLED Panasonic LZ2000 and QD-OLED Sony A95K.
Even the 2023 LG G3 WRGB OLED is now closer to the top Panasonic and Sony consumer tv's this year. All three flagships great picture quality with little difference when all correctly calibrated!
As for film studios mastering movies for 4K Blu Ray discs. RGB OLED mastering monitors are used or dual layer LCD mastering monitors. Ones that can display enough white and colour to the film industry standards.

    QD OLED CRI 46
Pioneer KRP Plasma TV CRI 77
    CRT CRI 90+
Then you know why Plasma TVs and CRTs has superior color rendering.
Then you also know why colors on todays TVs looks flat and lifeless.
    Reference my ass ;)
You need natural glowing light for natural colors not some cheap LED light.
