Hi Mat, just so you and others know:
    - You can turn the Lane Departure off altogether, just press the button of the end of the indicator stalk.
    - The Estate version does have underfloor storage for the parcel shelf.
    Great review as always though.
    Glad you like it!

Built in touchscreen sat nav..i really liked it.

@@zdengvox I drove the 125hp fiesta and didn't like it. Maybe it was because of the test-drive-car and people drove it badly.
      but what I didn't like:
the sixth gear is for decoration and doesn't accelerate at all.
it needs over 2k rpm to drive without a noisy vibration from the engine, so your economie will be disgusting (we drove around 7l/100km ~ 33mpg)
For 125hp it isn't punchy at all. Like my 200kg heavier seat leon with 110hp will outperform it by multiple seconds from 0-60mph (or at least, it felt like that).
Like I said, maybe we got a bad-driven car... or maybe another engine will fix most of it. The stearing was ok.
there are too many buttons. Like... WAY too many buttons. The first two months I can imagine you can't use anything while driving, because you have to search too long.
There are also a lot of plus for the options you can get... but I found most of the car halfbaked.

I have the 2019 st-line and the reason they never show the active steering for avoiding the pedestrians is because the st-line version doesnt have it due to the front bumper not having the proper sensors. Also alert for the lane departure is not a beep but the steering wheel starts to vibrate. Its really cool and you would have no reason to turn it off.

I like the cupholder solution - pretty smart being flexible. The car looks quite good, but yea it certainly lost some sporty personality and is now blending in with most of the competition, but it is still well proportioned - I think the front is really well solved with a clear DRG. I guess Ford had many reasons for changing the look of the car and for certain one being the growing Asian markets - Mazda did well with their new visual concept about 10 years ago which can is seen quite clearly in this Ford Focus ;D.

Interesting and entertaining video as always. But I've recently driven a New Focus ST, mainly in town at legal speeds, and sat in the back too. And I found the ride much too firm and jarring over poor surfaces, and small bump absorption was not good! It had nice steering and might flow better on fast open roads, but how often do you get to do that? Normally I agree with Mat and his comments on ride - but am strangely at odds here!

@@Mr_ZPguy My 2012 Focus clutch would stick to the floor when changing gears. Many visits to the garage didn't fix it properly. Apparently, it was a certain group of cars from a certain factory at a certain time. I searched the 'net for it and found a forum with pages of similar problems with that car. It started squeaking before it happened for the first time, like a rusty spring. Really annoying to drive with it and started to become a safety hazard when trying to drive. Hope this helps.

Had a 1.0 st-line for nearly 3 months & so far its much better than the mk3's to drive & far more practical. Always felt the mk3's were a bit disappointing to drive compared to the first 2 generations & seemed like they had less usable interior & boot space than the mk2, but were more comfortable on long journeys. Loved my 2007 mk2 1.8 zetec (42000 miles in 4 years) & my 2011 mk3 1.6tdci zetec (ex dealer demo car with most of the options list on it, 82000 miles in 4 years) with 100% reliability & great build quality, but my 2015 mk3 1.5tdci titanium was a little disappointing thanks to the crap sync2 touchscreen & minor build quality issues (keyless entry sometimes didnt work first time, boot release had a mind of its own after it had rained, door seals came loose & replaced twice until i used gorilla glue to stick them down) & the suspension changes on the facelift cars didnt improve the slightly dull handling (it seemed duller, but it was a slightly more comfortable car on long journeys). The 1.5 tdci was a better engine though far smoother. Thus far ive had no issues with my new car but its early days. Sync3 works far better
