If I clean up I have to decide for every stupid item what to do with it...because i like to recycle, sewing and craft. But offcourse I collect more then I craft. I can not even throw away old shoes, I pulled the strings out, maybe at least I can use those. Then I throw them away. I love empty shoeboxes. I cut zippers out of old clothes. I hate to throw things away. I try to repair all broken toys and stuf. We emigrated to an other country, that was insanly hard, only with suitcases. So I had to choose what was most important for me. But now in two years collected some new trash/treasures. Now I try to organize. Mostly its re-aranging , putting similar stuff toghether. Thankfully I dont buy much, just whats necessary. And also buy secondhand. My biggest nightmare is loosing my stuff if I have to migrate again. Usefull video!!

Wow. My OCD family member is the opposite of a hoarder--she has very few things. But I saw myself and my excuses in your video. I like the idea of a digital photo album. Donations are also good. Thank you!

the thing that makes me want to not give/throw anything away is because i think “what if i want to show my children when im older!” im 11 and i need to stop, although i dont buy many things a year so that is OK i guess…i also think to myself that everything i own has feelings so i dont want to hurt its feelings by throwing/giving it away...

My 6-year-old has a massive meltdown anytime she is told to get rid of something. Just today she had a meltdown over a broken piece of plastic from an old toy. I'm wondering if I should talk to her doctor about her levels of anxiety, because this isn't the first time this has happened. I would love to see some more videos on how to deal with childhood hoarding.

Sorry to hear about her struggles. I did a podcast on children and hoarding. Maybe it can help a bit? www.anxioustoddlers.com/children-hoarders/

Same here. My daughter is six now and any scrap of paper I'd like to throw out, she has u huge meltdown. This evening, I had to get two pieces of paper on which she wrote something at school out of garbage because she was inconsolable. Did you manage to solve this? I'm very concerned.

I just found this video in search of something to help my 11 year old. Her reasoning though isn't any you mention. She keeps things because she thinks that if she throws stuff away, gives stuff away, puts stuff away, that it will change the course of life and relationships. I really have no idea how to help her. :-(
