That's not true. The Debbie Stone tragedy took place just a year after it opened. It ran for another 13 years after that and closed because unfortunately by that point the attraction was dated and they made the decision to recycle the figures to make Splash Mountain.
No that is incorrect the Debbie Stone tragedy took place on July 8, 1974 just before 11:00pm which is less than 2 weeks after the America Sings attraction originally opened. The Debbie Stone tragedy had absolutely nothing to do with the closure of America Sings on April 10, 1988 in which America Sings ran for a total of 14 years. America Sings closed because the audio animatronic characters from America Sings were needed to build Splash Mountain because it was too expensive for Disney to develop brand new audio animatronic characters for Splash Mountain due to the fact that the project for Splash Mountain went far over budget. It's probably just too dark to see the stars effect on video.
Yeah too dark to see disco stars.
The America Sings attraction open to day 2022 would have been excellent 👌
Yeah, it would be excellent! Only they'd have to update it to have more kinds of music.
I built it in Minecraft and came up with a way to keep the ride from having to be a carousel.
Disneyland: 70 Years of Nostalgia (1955-2025)
but unless you are a time traveler, this is only 2023
You know Tina, I just realized and thought of these attractions, they were probably the best parts of Disneyland and how this was the top age where Disneyland had about 5 Animatronic Shows that were crowd pleasing and still at the top of the game. I think Michael Eisner was smart to think about what needed to go and that's understandable, but to have every show fired from the park was wrong, and I always think Marc Davis would still keep all these shows if he didn't die in 2000.
Walt Disney would be or is turning in his grave about what they're doing to Disneyland! Do you know that you have to have reservations to get in, reservations to eat, and last I heard half the park is being renovated
A another happy ending
Yes!
I sent a letter to Disney imagineering to bring it back and they replied saying they can't accept ideas from outside the company but they love my idea. I sent a new letter to them asking why haven't they brought it back since it closed? I haven't gotten a reply yet so I'll update u when I get it
Thank you! I'm building My Disneyland in Minecraft. It will have all the rides that I remember them having. So it will be seen. Maybe others will remember it and they'll add it somewhere.
Tina Rash that's so cool! Lol, I also built America sings in Minecraft too😂
I built Pirates of the Caribbean, most of Fantasy land with Skyway, parts of Tomorrowland, and Main Street in Minecraft. And thanks to mine carts you can 'ride' the rides. But i'm probably going to build it in Xbox One Minecraft, because it's a big plot of land. I plan to do a UA-cam tour of My Disneyland soon-ish.
Well, almost all of the characters are in Splash Mountain.
Unfortunately
Hopefully they return it to the future
Yeah, I was thinking they could put it in Critter Country. I built Disneyland in Minecraft and I put Splash Mountain(orignial), then Country Bear Jamboree, and then America Sings. I think I put Pooh Corner next and then Star Wars Land/Batoo
Yeah, in Minecraft Disneyland it goes Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain(original), Country Bear Jamboree, America Sings, Pooh Corner, and Star Wars Land/Batoo. There in one big line with practically nothing on the other side of the walk way..... yet.
Did the Sombrero dog and the Home in the Range Dog get to Splash Mountain?
I don't remember, but I'll ask people who may know the answer and let you know. I know the black birds that sing "Billy's dead and gone and we ain't none the sadder" are the ones warning you to not go to the laughing place in splash mountain. And the mama bunnies and kids are there too.
Sombrero Dog didn’t. Home on the range dog is on the showboat on the finale.

What about the Old Gray Mare?

What about the bird that sings hound dog?
Does anyone else miss the two geese that got removed from the attraction like it feels so weird to go from just 3 geese in the first 2 acts yo just randomly 4
Huh? I don't get it. But I remember what's here, because the last time I saw this ride was 1986
@@tinarash7772 well u know how there is only 3 geese in acts 1 and 2 well that’s because Disney removed 2 geese from the attraction one night and re-purposed them into Star tours. The 2 geese that were removed are now droids to this day
@@khhartman4445 okay, i didn't know that. But wouldn't this video still have them since this is 1986 and Star Tours didn't make it's debut until 89 or later?..........checks internet........it claims 1987
@@tinarash7772 well yeah but the geese got turned into robots that are in the que for the ride so that’s why they were removed in 1986
@@khhartman4445 they were actually removed somewhere in 1985, and where put at the bottom of the building until star tours was ready, but yea it fells strange they aren't there anymore, but I guess they expected the guest to just think they got another geese in the group
Did they change the dog’s voice at 7:29? I remember it sounding completely different.
It might sound a bit different because it was recorded onto video tape in April 1986 and put on DVD a few years ago (not sure when). If it's anything like my recordings from 2000, the sound deteriorated. But this sounds like i've always heard it.
Disney changed the voice
It use to be carousel of progress.
yep and now its world of tomorrow or something housed in the Carousel of Progress.
I only rode it once. And boy, do i miss it. Bad move, Disney
@@tsitracommunications2884 unfortunately it was getting low guests and considering at the time disney world was the next new disney park they decided to move it which even though it seems like a bad decision it was actually smart, the only bad decision was making the theater a ride that was nothing related to Tomorrowland (maybe an alien type show would've worked)
@@SlushysSecret Ill buy that last fact
so was the disco ball on the ceiling still working by this point and just too dark to show up or was it broken?
There was no disco ball…
Plus how would there be a ball if the rotating wall would break it off?
@@SlushysSecret
He's probably talking about how during stage transitions when the room darkened, there were swirling stars projected onto the stage and the audience like they were from a disco ball. The effect was just too dim to be caught on video.
@@newguy90 Ik, some videos might show it if you brighten the video enough
@@SlushysSecret I don't know how to brighten it. But I'm worried that if I did it might take some of the magic away.
to be honest, i really want tokyo disneyland to build this, they got more room btw
They wouldn’t, if you don’t believe me type up “Debbie Stone” on UA-cam.
They actually considered shipping America Sings to Tokyo. However, an attraction based on celebrating America’s music wouldn’t fit in Japan so they didn’t do it.
I think it could live in Epcot.
@Garbage Guy that's only because it was in tomorrow land, they definitely had the opportunity to move the ride to epcot, still it wouldn't be outdated in epcot
@Garbage Guy and rightly so
Music was cut at 2:00
Well it all has sound and that's the way we captured it from 1986.
I just checked on my computer and phone. The sound fades out at 2:00 but starts right back up again. That attraction/ride did that. It plays the one song pauses and continues.
No it cuts out cause the audio cuts out when they pop up
Something wrong happend at 17:38they put the song of the gay 90s
Huh? They were singing Yankee Doodle, faded to black, and "Yankee Doodle always said the past is just a start tomorrow will bring songs to you that come straight from the heart", more, and Auld Lang zign (spelled wrong btw). Anyway I don't see the problem. Please explain.
That’s the audio
If the stage sound is not strong enough the other stage music will be in the stage your on for a few seconds
I only think about Debbie Stone
Try to not think about it and see the ride for the awesome it is. We don't talk about that other part here.

We don't talk about Debbie Stone here. We watch the video and remember the ride for the awesomeness that it was. Or if someone hasn't seen it, they are usually impressed and gush about it.
Was it the stage or the people rotating?
People rotated. Martins Videos Disney has a good video of how it works + history.
Whats that picture at the start
A grand staircase in New Orleans Square. I think it's the one that used to go up to the art gallery. And i'm the little girl. I was seven.
I hope they stay after splash gets replaced
I hope so too, but I doubt it. Where would they fit? Well unless they bring Yesterland into being.
Apart from the death I really like this ride though it creeps me out a bit and I wasn't even born at this time I quite like it !lol
I'm glad you like it!
Favorite Part: 15:50
So the rock N roll part? I love it too! I love this whole ride and wish they'd bring it back. Even if they just made it a screen thing.
@@tinarash7772 yeah, whoever did this part as the stork deserves a raise!
@@ThatChadWithTheAnchorArms Yes, definitely!
You remember one of Disneyland's employee Debbie Stone's death.
Was she the one that died on America Sings? We don't talk about that on here, because then that's all anybody talks about and the fun Disneyland ride with the great old music gets ignored.
They say she stepped back at a scene change and the wall got her if that's what your wondering.
O grito é editado(caso Stone)
??????? There is no scream, unless it's a crying baby. I have a video with a crying baby in the background for a bit. Either this one or Country Bear Jamboree. This is before the tragedy in early April of 1986 (the week containing April 06, 1986). I've set the rule that we don't talk about the tragic loss of the young lady. We only watch the video and see all the great characters singing songs that I love because these characters sang them. For some reason, I really like "Who shot that hole in my sombrero, who put that bullet in my hat, who shot that hole in my sombrero, who'd do a terrible thing like that...."
Welllllllll

It's easy since they got rid of splash mountain they can use the splash mountain characters

A zootoop camco
This predated that film by over 40 years
@@user-sd7qo7qe4v some of the characters look suspiciously familiar in the ride
Maybe the animators drew some of the Zootopia characters based on the America Sings ride. (Ride came first as it was in Disneyland in 1986. The movie came out second on March 04, 2016).

Fireworks? The America Sings ride? America Sings was a ride in Disneyland that you could ride any time of year.
Pero no
But not, what?
No offense but i believe america sings shouldve belonged in frontierland not tomorrowland
It should be in Critter Country, but yeah back when it could have been on Main Street.
Only Main Street is based on Walt's Main Street from his home town. You can't just add a big ol' carousel ride.
They might have built in into the castle.

Wasn’t it like 80’s when it was tooken away for splash mountain
@@marcuswaterbury3007 they say 1988 when it was taken away
@@marcuswaterbury3007 It was taken away because it wasn't popular anymore. But yeah 1974 to 1988. Some of the animatronic characters were preserved in America Sings. The others are who knows where. If you know, don't tell me, I don't wan to know.
America Signs was closed because worker Debbie Stone being crushed by walls then died.
Yeah, I knew that America Sings was closed for that reason, unfortunately. I loved that ride. If only they could have made it safer for workers and riders.
That's not true. The Debbie Stone tragedy took place just a year after it opened. It ran for another 13 years after that and closed because unfortunately by that point the attraction was dated and they made the decision to recycle the figures to make Splash Mountain.
Is it possible that it closed for both reasons? And why couldn't they just lengthen it or something and add newer songs?
It was also closed because when Disneyland opens a new attraction they close an old attraction to keep operating costs down.
So maybe it took that long for it to go through the courts and stuff
way better then splash moutain
I like them both, but yes, America Sings more.
