Hey, great video! Just wanted to let you know you missed one! The roadrunner from the desert scene with the singing dog is in Splash Mountain with the possum trio! Other than that though, fantastic!
This was really smart reusing these animatronics since they probably saved a fortune and ended up making one of the greatest theme park rides of all time. It's really completely mind-blowing that such a univerally loved ride was changed for reasons that don't even make sense.
Except the reason for changing the ride makes perfect sense. It's because the movie the ride is based on is extremely racist and it's best that there isn't any significant part of the parks dedicated to it.
@SirBuzz No, but I've seen plenty about it, including clips from the film itself and videos talking about it. The entire premise of the film is all about portraying Black slaves as happy to do their work, which history proves was absolutely not the case. The White boy's relationship with Uncle Remus is depicted in a way that makes Remus out more to be a "magical negro" who tells whimsical tales for the White boy's pleasure. The animal characters also all speak in dialects that are heavily inspired by minstrel archetypes of the time, with the tar baby scene meant to be a reference to blackface. Apparently, even without seeing the movie in its entirety, I still understand it better than you do.
I always wanted someone to do video on where the America Sings animatronics are in Splash Mountain, so I’m very happy to see it finally done. However, I’m kinda surprised you didn’t mention how a few of the Sam and Ollie animatronics are in Splash Mountain. For example, the first Brer Fox figure was originally the Sam animatronic from either the beginning of the end of America Sings. And the first Brer Rabbit figure was the Ollie animatronic from act 2.
It's nice to see, Sam the eagle and Ollie the owl we're in Splash Mountain, as brer fox and brer rabbit, I actually know why they changed brer fox's hair to white it could possibly be a reference to Sam Eagle and the reason brer rabbit is brown instead of gray could also be a nod to Ollie the owl. Even though America sings closed, there's still the stars of another attraction I hope there used in. Another attraction one day. since Splash Mountain is getting replaced
And I was completely shocked that the hound dog made it to splash mountain for sure as shown on 2:09 and I think america sings to splash mountain is definitely the very first Easter egg or reference to an old attraction which was amazing 🥲 and cool 😎 at the same time.
