That strand test is so critical!! Doing 1-2 even if you need to. I did my hair section by section, and left it on for 3 min after applying everything, and my hair came out like hers. Really happy with it. Needed to cut down my hair time
I have in the past washed my hair the day prior to a relaxer. .. for what reason I can not remember but I do remember I was surprised nothing terrible happened
thats good to know! Some ppl do scratch/scrub their scalp when washing their and may get the relaxer on their scalp and it cause irritation so that is why i had suggested to give it some time.
Wait so after using the texturizer , I can still use conditioner correct? And also can I still use my African shea butter or is that not an option, cause it is a little on the thicker side of a product and I don’t wanna ruin the curls
Yes you can wash and moisturize your hair as you normally do. I suggest using a paddle brush, it’s not too hard and it can still comb through your hair
Great info I’ve been thinking about it cuz I was nervous about damage I definitely keep up with my hair it’s just I ask so many people they say don’t do it your gonna end up with damaged hair after a while if using it now long have u been using texturizer I know how to keep up with it because of my research just nervous is all.
Hi! You can check out my most updated wash day routine on texturized hair. I state all the stuff I use on wash day from start to finish. No I don’t twist my hair at nights. The most I’ll do sometimes is do some big plaits/braids.
Hi my hair has different textures the middle has looser curls like 4a and the back and sides are more 4c should I still use it on my whole head or just the tighter curled section?
You can choose to do that or apply it everywhere but let it stay a shorter time on the 4a section so that means you would have to move quicker with it.
Can I texturize my hair after I take out braids that have been in for 2+ months and leave as is or should I de tangle the top of my hair to get the knots outs?
Good question. I recommend getting the knots out completely then wait a week. Because you wouldn’t wanna do it with the scalp irritated from you detangling. It would be like you scratching your scalp right before a relaxer which is no good.
hi found your video and how long did you leave in the product. Thank you for stressing to follow the directions. My texture and density is kind of close to yours....except my thickest part of my hair is on my entire right side...with looser texture from front to about the top of my ear.....then the texture has more of a tighter texture. Thanks for your response. I love my natural hair...but simply want to make it a tiny bit more manageable so it's important to me to not leave it in to long....my feeling is it's ok to under process because its a texture products........and I don't use heat on my hair I do natural styles...thanks for letting me know how long you left it in
I followed the recommended time based on the hair density in the instructions. You might want to post attention to that. 8-10 mins for me. But I go off of what I feel because I don’t to get straight hair. Also do a stand test first to see.
@@ByShello thanks so much for the response and one more question...on the first texture experience on virgin hair ..did you pull the product all the way to the ends...or did you mainly concentrate on roots to mid-shaft...??
@@ByShello Hi Sis Update....I did it...and it came out great...I only left it in 8 minutes...I could probably do 1 more minute on the thickest part but I no longer fear the process....I did it myself....yippie
I doubt it, probably only if you had the volume before & your curls aren’t completely gone after the texturizer then you should probably retain your volume still. Like I didn’t let mine stay for longer than instructed so it didn’t make my hair flat. It only elongated the curls, which I mostly notice when I’m applying products to define the curls.
You can retouch it as frequently as you like, I suggest stretching it tho, so your hair doesn’t become dependent on it. So you could probably do it every 2-3 months.
Im sorry I’m just seeing this, it depends on your results. I still had some shrinkage after washing and doing wash n gos but not as bad as before the texturizer.
I’ve had knotless braids for a couple months. Would it be okay if i wash my hair after taking my braids down then wait about a week before putting the texturizer? Should i wait longer?
I say take the braids down, the give it a day or two for your scalp to breathe then you can do it, that’s what I always do before putting chemicals on my hair. But if you do want to wash it, then wash it atleast a week before then you can.
Check out these out ua-cam.com/video/HjjJmAfsbLg/v-deo.html & ua-cam.com/video/9XAioykHPHE/v-deo.html these videos can help too. Or see my texturized hair playlist for more.
That’s a good question but I honestly think you should give it a couple days since your hair will be in a “virgin” state, you can probably do a wash & go/twist out for a couple days to see how your hair is holding up from the texturizer then see if you would still want to do it after. Hope this helps.
I hope I'm not too late! I'm not an expert but based on my research I learned that when the hair is recently permed it's in a very fragile suggestive, for up to three days after the perm. So anything you do to it in that time can become permanent. This includes any frizzing or crunching but also any stretching or braiding. So it could need to your curl if done too soon after
So I texturized my hair a a week ago but half of my hair from the roots are straight then it towards the end is really curly any idea what I did wrong ?
Improper application. Roots always last..it processing faster. N maybe too much smoothing, as that will straighten it. Remember it's STILL the same chemical as a Relaxer. It can and will straighten if smoothed, left in too long, and applied improperly.
YES! It Is the same chemical. Different application. If you smooth a 'Texturizer ' during application it can and will straighten. It's the same chemical as Relaxer.
She’s moisture is a good and cheap one it leaves my hair shiny and healthy for a good amount of time then u can reapply but not to often since it deep condition

I’m sorry to hear that!! Glad your hair now healthy but I get what you’re saying, growing up when I saw people with texturized hair it always looked straight/stringy like a relaxer and I always thought that it made no sense cuz it basically looked like a relaxer but after doing my research I was wiser & made sure I got the best product. My last touch up was March 2021
What products do you used to maintain the curl? Do you twist the hair at nights?

Shello Styles thank you.
When you get a touch up do you only do the roots?
Yes only the new growth
How often do you do your touchups
The last one I did was 2 months ago, before that it was 2 months as well. Not sure when my next will be.
love this video! where are you from? and can i mix conditioner or oil in it you think to weaken the strength of the texturizerr
thanks!
Thank you! I’m from Jamaica! 🇯🇲 I suppose you can mix it with conditioner. Don’t recommend using oil since it’s not as thick.

You can choose to do that or apply it everywhere but let it stay a shorter time on the 4a section so that means you would have to move quicker with it.
Also do a strand test on the 4c section. If the strand looks like the 4a section then I don’t see an issue with just doing the 4c section.
I use gummy wax in my hair, would I need to wash it out before i texturise it?
Yes. Wash it and let your hair breathe for about a week or 2 without irritating it & the scalp
What is a strand test and how do you do it?
You apply some of the mixture to a small section of your hair to see how it reactions. I suggest you do it in the back.
I'm thinking about texturizing my hair but I'm Soo scared of completely losing my curls and coming out with a straight hair.

For the first application you should focus of the entire hair shaft. But for touch ups only the new growth.
When you texturize would you still be able to do natural styles or would it be straight or too straight
Yes you can still do it, if you’re hair is straight then you did something wrong.

It means to extend the time between the next texturizing session & the last.

african pride texture softening elongating system. The one with a girl who has a lil pixie cut on the box. It’s also on my Amazon storefront
I was told that the texture your hair is when its wet is the texture you will get when you put texturizer in...
Is your hair growing since texturized
Yes
How long did you leave yours in ?
8-10 minutes. As directed based on my hair type.

@@ByShello I dont want to go back natural so i will have to keep texturizing until am ready to relaxed it?
@@ByShello how do i get my natural hair to grow out fast?
I don’t advise you to do that. You can only put the relaxer on your new growth. Don’t put a relaxer on already texturized hair.

So it’s like straight then curly sorry I’m not good at explaining
That sounds like you may have had the texturing on your roots for too long. Longer than the rest of your hair. How did you apply it?
