Ahhh so great to see another photographer into pens and ink! Diamine and Kaweco two great brands - can’t go wrong. Would love to see you do a video on your pens and ink collection. Quick plug for an Aussie brand - have you tried any Robert Oster inks - such great colours!
I was in NYC last week and wish I could have stopped by BFC to check out your photos (if they were still there). Love BFC and might have to start going down the fountain pen rabbit hole next! oe🖋
I love going somewhere for a reason other than just seeing a new place. I once went to San Diego to meet with people I was making music with over the internet. It was such a special trip.
Yep New York there is nothing quite like it. My father put a camera in my hand for my second grade field trip in 1960 and I still shoot I find your work very inspiring thank you
Stationary shopping is always high on my list when visiting a new city, would love to see a video on your pen collection! For book shopping, next time you're in NYC definitely check out Printed Matter. Big congratulations on the show, well deserved!
No way man! Never thought you are also into fountain pens. I have the Kaweco stainless steel and aluminum fountain pens, I want to get the brass one, it looks amazing.
Huh, I'd somehow forgotten you're a fountain pen enthusiast! Love the look of that kaweco. I'm a sucker for brass. Going to have to pick one up! (I want to love the traveler's notebooks so much but they're never neat enough and don't have cream dotted refills 😭
Before getting into photography I collected higher-end vintage Japanese fountain pens. I had amassed quite a few and sold almost all of them to get into my first Canon 6D and various lenses….
Funny, my first trip to NY was when I was part of an IMPOSSIBLE Project exhibit back int 2012! We spent a whole week there though and I shot some of my favorite Polaroids in the hot, muggy summer. Wish I could go and see your work at BFC! (Oh, and as much as I loved shooting with the MiNT SLR's, I still think the best thing I ever did was to have my non-Sonar SX-70 totally refurbed and upgraded to shoot 600...it's just about perfect!)
Hello Matt, I have family that’s near your town I visited and quite enjoyed doing some photography in that area. Quite different from Florida. Congratulations on your successful show!
Very curious about the conversation with the space. did you have to pay for printing and framing? did they cover it? or even did they charged for wall space?
Sorry I couldn't make it. I went the B&H Bild Conference to see Casey Neistat earlier that day, but it was literally 95 degrees and melted back at home in the afternoon! Hopefully this will be the first of many trips to visit NYC!
'Twas unreal to have you in the Large Apple! Much love to you bruv and looking forward to the next bop, next time we owe you a trip to Ohio!
Matt! Much love brother, it was my pleasure to help you out with the install, hope to see you back out here soon! 🙏🏽
Glad you had such a good time, Matt!
Well deserved Matt. 😊 Congratulations
The portraits are beautiful!

Those pics you took came out really nice! Looks like a really nice trip and show.
Thanks for sharing! Loved it all!
Pens and notebooks! YES! I know it’s niche but would love to see more:)
Love the Jason lee deck in the background!

So great seeing you Matt. I love how you differentiated Brooklyn and Manhattan 😜😜

Sorry I missed you Matt .. but I had family in town. Hope you made it over to B&H Photo. Congratulations on the show.
Cool to see this sort of stuff!
Such an amazing photographer! You inspire me in so many ways I can’t explain in text

Damn! My two biggest interests perfectly collide! I would have loved to see a Yoseka/ Matt Day colab. video.
Sorry I missed the event. I meant to go, but something came up. Glad you had a good time in NYC. Hope you visit again.
I recently got the Kaweco brass pen also, it's really nice. Doesn't take long to tarnish & get some character.

Good
Looked like a super fun time, I feel like New York can better in small doses.
Wow, what pen loop is that for your traveller's notebook?
A world away from home Matt.
When you moving there?
so great!
Congrats on your show.
Oh boy; toasted film… I’d not heard that this type was particularly susceptible.

This is a wonderful story and hopefully personally validating of your great talent. Go sell some damn prints, you deserve it!
