- "She's Got You" is an upbeat jazz-pop tune with country overtones written by Hank Cochran and first recorded by Patsy Cline in December 1961, released in 1962 as a single. In Ellis Nassour's Patsy Cline biography, "Honky Tonk Angel", it tells of Hank Cochran calling Patsy to tell her that he'd just written her next number 1 hit. She told him to come over to her house with a bottle of liquor and play it on the guitar for her and friend Dottie West who was visiting that afternoon.
Cline was emotionally moved by the lyrics and loved the song so much that she learned it that night, calling up her manager and producer to sing it to them over the phone. At her next session, she recorded it. This was a rare instance, as Cline and her producer, Owen Bradley, often disagreed with each other's choice of material. This time, they both agreed they had a hit.
"She's Got You" was released on January 30, 1962, and immediately went to No. 1 on the Hot country chart, No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, and No. 3 on the Easy Listening chart.
Session players on the recording included Harold Bradley on 6-string electric bass, Floyd Cramer piano, Buddy Harman drums, Walter Haynes pedal steel guitar, Randy Hughes acoustic guitar, The Jordanaires on backing vocals, Grady Martin on electric guitar, with Bob Moore on acoustic bass, and Bill Pursell organ.
"She's Got You" marked her first hit single in the United Kingdom, where it reached No. 43. The hit led to an appearance on American Bandstand with Dick Clark that February and led to Cline having her own show in Las Vegas in the following November. "She's Got You" was followed by a few other minor hits that year, including "Imagine That", "When I Get Thru' With You", "So Wrong", and "Strange".
Here, her February 7, 1962 television performance of the song broadcast from WSMV-TV, 5700 Knob Rd, in Nashville TN for the Pet Milk TV Grand Ole Opry number 31 is remixed and mastered in HD color by DocRock1007 against her studio recording of the tune, for your enjoyment.

I agree with you, also thanks to UA-cam one is able to listen to singers long gone.
The pianist on She's Got You is my favourite, Floyd Cramer - sadly, no longer with us, but I am still able to listen to him thanks to UA-cam, and one is still able to purchase his CD's.
This song pulls at your heart strings. Life keeps moving on and on while memories live on forever. Makes one wish for yesterday.

CZYSTY, POTĘŻNY, WYJĄTKOWY GŁOS!
Można się uczyć angielskiego, tak wyraźnie słychać.
That fabulous Hank Cochran. I used to program radio in Texas, Oklahoma and Nashville, and my own show in Nashville. And I learned so much h from so many people.
I grew up, some say i didnt, but i grew up with this, it says so much to me now im old. I can still see the faces and remember most of their names i fell in love with. Such innocent love but at the time so important to have, so, forgive this, to all girls i loved before you are my memories, my loves.
Memories never die xx
The absolute best. Only problem is if my mood is down then I daren't listen to Patsy. Country music is great, it's what I play, male but mostly female. What a choice for a downer. I'll finish listening to this one then go to bed.
From the first time I heard this song till now,it still breaks my heart..😢
It's all about. That throaty warbling. Falsetto Yodelesque type of wave of heartache coming through loud & clear
From England: thank you Patsy for helping me through my young heartaches. As an old biddy now I still love listening to your music, thanks to DocRock1007 for this.
heaven or country neither have anything to do with this beautiful voice of this artist, she had a voice, and it got cut short by the very person that believed in all of what you Christians and country believe in pure and simple, her life was not good and her choice of men was not good, and In the end she realize that she made the wrong choice, and a beautiful voice ended.
Patsy Cline ❤❤❤❤Best singer of all ♥️♥️♥️RIP 🙏🙏
A voice for the Ages!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am so greateful for being able to listen to authentic music.❤❤❤❤❤
She was very young with this amazing talent. So many great performers die young. 😢
