I'm terribly sorry for your loss. Marriages, nowadays, don't last nowhere near as long because people are ready to bail out at the 1st sign of trouble. There is no: "For better or worse, in sickness & in health, till death do us pat" anymore 💔. Glad you had 45yrs with her ❤
☹️ sadly you’re right, the purity and clarity of her voice is beautiful an amazing woman and singer, thanks to UA-cam we can still see and listen to her, who’s still listening to this great song in August 2024 🤘🏼🎶💕
Anyone who listens to Hank Williams and all of his sons as well as Johnny Cash etc.. don't really have a choice as to whether or not they respect Patsy Cline.

One night a few years ago, I was sitting in the dark in my living room with the radio on softly and this song came on. Suddenly my canary who was sound asleep in his covered cage came to life and trilled in stunning harmony with this fantastic singer. It was a miracle moment!
I’ve had that happen at times when I play my guitar in my yard...birds will come and sing. Music is the universal language that all creatures seem to understand...it’s incredible when it happens!
In Santana's new documentary he said when he was a child his father played some violin to him and birds replied to his melodies while he played and told young Carlos that if you can communicate with animals through music you can also get to people's hearts playing. Music is a universal language
I've seen her in the future I hope? Live in an 800 audience, high acoustic, fire place lit? Holding a hand, oh my hands.? Yes I honestly I agree, you in that red dress? Cool.
If you keep doing that, I can't even edit it right? You are flirting? Why? I'm like way average, not worth the hassle for you? Or you are being a friend, but you happened to be a crush? Idk about you but I am so good on being single with friends during this, because I am single. Probably way easier as a couple? No, not you.. gosh you are persistent? Namaste
Patsy was and always will be the QUEEN of country in my opinion nobody came close to being as flawless as her She will live on forever in her music 🎶 and thank God we have it Her voice makes me feel like I'm floating on air. HEAVENLY 😇
Yes, Patsy was the Queen and that voice is so wonderful and spectacular. Anyone would turn around and stop and listen to her sing I am sure. I know I would and I would be stunned and mesmerized to hear her sing it in person!
60 years ago yesterday since her death.... but her music still lives on. Timeless. Timeless seems to be something music nowadays doesn't have. One of the many things music today doesn't have. Rest easy, Patsy.
God, another golden icon taken way too soon by a tragedy. As a rock'n'roll musician, and as a musician in general, I have such gratitude and appreciation towards her music. While the harmony and rhythm may sound simple, to have it all pieced together, especially with the quiet playing, is something to awe over. I wish we still had music and musicians like this. It truly was one of the golden eras for music. Thank you Patsy for everything you did for the music world.
My Mom always told me that I'm an old soul.....I just love good music and this song just speaks to me. I love how she takes her time .... and the lyrics are simply beautiful.
My Dad was not really a fan of country music. But one Saturday afternoon he and I were on our way to the hardware store, several miles from our home. As he drove, with the ever present Camel between his lips, this song came on the AM radio...and within 3 minutes, his life changed forever. We drove right by the hardware store...and about 20 miles later, we arrived at Dad's favorite record shop. Over the years Dad had befriended the shop owner, and they would often talk music for what seemed like hours, as my kid brother and I ran around the store and looked at hundreds of albums and posters. Dad asked if the Patsy Cline song "Crazy" was on a "45" or an album. Both were available...and he bought them both. We eventually got to the hardware store and home, where Dad played his new album for my Mother...she was nearly as impressed as my Dad. All of this occurred just before Christmas, 1961...I was 11 at the time. On January 21, 2011, Dad passed at the Maine Veteran's Home in Augusta, Maine...he was 92. About a month later, my brother and I were going through his things and we found his beloved Patsy Cline album and 45 from 1961. Although both had been played hundreds of times, they were scratch free and sounded wonderful. Every time I hear Crazy, I'm instantly transported back to that Saturday afternoon in 1961, Patsy is singing Crazy on the car radio...and my Dad is totally captivated, forever!
Patsy Cline was (gratefully) from the era when female "country/western" performers could ACTUALLY sing! No gimmicks. No gadgetry. No artificial electronic enhancement. And none of the emotive wailing up and down the musical scale. Just a pure voice with a simple instrumental accompaniment. Unparalleled pleasure!
As a musician of 20 plus years, I still have yet to come across a singer whom gives me goosebumps as strong as Patsy does here every single time i listen it get them.
Thanks to Willie Nelson for this beautiful şong, ño one could sing it like Patsy Cline what ã voice.. Considered the most listened to şong on a jukebox💫💖💫
I think this was after her car accident. Beautiful voice, tough life, but I remember my mother listening to her as I grew up. The emotion in her voice was amazing.
Pastry Cline is a very talented singer and he has these magical voice and lyric that I Love ❤️ her songs will never be forgotten in this world. Since when have you been listening to Cline's songs?
It was after her accident. She was recording the song and had trouble with the higher notes so took off a couple weeks longer to recover and recorded it in one take.
YES!! People think it's easy to sing like this till they try it. Breath control is difficult, but Patsy Cline made it sound so easy. Making the difficult seem easy is the definition of art.
I used to be sang to sleep with this song as a child. My dad' would play this on his portable record player and mom would sing along. I'm pushing 60 now and dad's been gone 7 years and my mom, God bless her and may she be with us little while longer. 🙂
A Patsy Cline / Karen Carpenter duet would flood the world with tears with the sadness that lives within their voices. I never fail to think of one when I hear the other.
This was Willie Nelson's first recorded song. I don't know if it was the best song he ever wrote because I haven't heard them all. But it's MY favorite song by him, especially as done by Patsy Cline. No one could do it better. Her voice and inflections were so perfect and appropriate for this song. So sad, her early departing in such tragic circumstances.
@JamesSmith24876 No Dear, I'm not. (Nor am I a Dear LOL) Even though Patsy was considered Country, I don't view her that way. I view her in the same way I view Marty Robbins, who is also considered Country. Like Patsy, he had a lot of crossover hits that spanned beyond mere Country. I will admit, though, I like the Country of the 50s and 60s, and even into the 70s, much better than today's Country.
Crazy that Patsy Cline was still recovering from the car wreck that almost took her life. What a voice. She'll always and ever be THE best country music female vocalist. What an amazing performance this was! Gone to soon. 💔
@Cloudburst2000 I wasn't talking about recording date, but the atmospherics of the sound which to me sounds more 50s than 60s. Ovviously, you're right generally about the recording time period. Let it be known this chap looked like a African version of Engelbert Humperdinck. 😂😂Needles to say, I understand the old gals distress 😂😂😂. If you love this song, drop a like. Blessings to all.
i may just start singing this to my granddaughter for a kid of 2 years old she should never have to put up with what she does may look into adopting her she stays with me and her grannie most of the time anyways respect from scotland
Willie Nelson wanted to sell the song to Patsy Cline's husband for $500,but he said no he gave Willie a $500 loan and gave Willie the rights to the royalties ,60 years later Willie is still making money from it
During my formative years, I would hear Patsy on the radio. She somehow made a connection with my soul that lasts to this day. SO sad, the way she left us, but still here. Patsy will amaze people for years yet to come.

The Great Willie Nelson wrote this beautiful song and truly only Patsy Cline could do it justice...at least in my opinion.

Wow! Good info
Yes I’ve heard Willy wanted for he to sing it. I’ve heard Willy sing it but not as good as Patsy.
One of the greatest, pure voices since recording was available
I absolutely agree. This is definitely one of the greatest performances ever!
Written by Willie Nelson, Floyd Cramer on the piano, and Patsy's incredible voice. This is pure Heaven.

Women singers with deeper vocal ranges always sound the best. There's a sultriness that touches your soul.
That's a good word to describe her particular vocals!!
Great description. You need to check out 12 year old Angelina Jordan's version. She's the only singer that could do this song justice.

Her husband/manger helped Willie Nelson write this song. Even he didn't realize what a hit it would be!
No auto tune. No enhancement. Just tons of talent. I drive by her childhood home regularly. Always consider her voice one of the best. Period.

Patsy is leading the chorus, for sure.
Great Willie Nelson song that Patsy made her own.
Yes, she sings it much “straighter,” selling the words beautifully. Willy had a serious jazz streak and enjoyed singing before or after the beat.
I think it was this song that Patsy sang & recorded on the 1st take.
