The ol' GT (gaff top) got ya! 😂. Bout 2 weeks ago, right at the end of my trip, I thought I had a dadgum 24in redfish and it was a big belly-hooked GT.
I fished that area last week and caught 9 flounder. some were below size and I lost 2 good ones therefore I wound up with 4 nice size flounder and a dozen trout. the flounder bite was FIYA last week! prolly the best bite ive seen all yr! you didn't stop and fish the one area where that place holds flounder which is where I caught all mine last week! great video!
Tearing em up Nate! You're making me jealous here in the mountains of NC. Did get me a couple keeper flounder this year, was just enough to ruin store bought flounder for me after eating it fresh 😂. Tight lines!
QUESTION about the trolling motor??? Is that rated for saltwater or do you just wash it out good?? I have a Xi3 Motorguide (freshwater) on my kayak and I'm afraid to use it in saltwater because of the electronic/remote portion of the unit that will get saltwater in it. Thanks for the great video. I only get to saltwater fish 2-3 times a year but want to do it more.
I believe the motor in old town kayaks is rated for saltwater. You are running a slight risk in saltwater with a freshwater unit, but if it's only a few times a year you should be fine as long as you rinse it well. I know lots of guys that run their "freshwater" motors in saltwater without any issues for a good bit of time
@@emeraldtidesoutdoors Yeah, it's not so much the motor I'm concerned about. It's the panel inside that controls the remote. On my kayak it is on the front and definetely gets wet in there. That stuff would probably corrode fast.
It’s hard to watch someone fish my spot while I’m at work offshore in the oil field 😅 tear’em up hoss… I fish in there with a 24ft Robalo cayman .. only draws 12”
