- These rock jetties were holding some HUGE FISH! In this video I head out kayak fishing for speckled trout and redfish. The area we fished were lined with long stretches of rock jetties, I decided to tie on a MirrOdine XL and immediately found some giant fish!!

Where were you fishing the jetties? Dauphin Island?
Wasn’t in Alabama for this one.
Mirrodines are by far my Favorite lures down here in SwFla!!! Trout ,,Reds n Snook all Love them !! If I had to pick 1 lure forever Mirrodines are my #1 pick !!!
🙌 they have their moments for me around the Mobile Bay
Nice video
Thanks brother!!
My wife and I are looking to book a trip with you but we are bringing our own gear and Hobie's.
Let’s do it! PM me on Facebook to set it up
I love throwing hard plastics. The trout will just hammer the lure.
They definitely hit it like non other!
Do you prefer treble over inline hooks on your mirrodines and why?
I leave them how they come out of the package so I don’t alter the sink rate.
Good time

Change the treble hooks out for inline singles
Its crazy when you can feel 1 of 2 hooks come off! What a feeling
It’s that sudden slack and jerk feeling lol. Makes things a little tense 😂
Dude, you smoked em this trip! Makes me want to go fishing tomorrow…..in 30 degree weather….😂
Man me too lol, they were schooled up thick on those rocks!
Good time out at the jetty.
Haven’t gone out artificial fishing in a while.
Gotta get out there cranking and yanking 💥🎣

Merry Christmas 🎅 Thanks, for the enjoyable fishing videos.
Merry Christmas to you, thank you for the continued support!!
Swap out those ridiculous treble hooks for good inline single hooks!!!
And why should I do that?
@@southernsalt I have tried to attach several articles that explain why you SHOULD replace treble hooks but You Tube doesn't allow us to attach links. Just Google "should I replace treble hooks". There are several videos from Salt Strong and others that will explain it to you. I switched about 10 years ago. I seriously don't know anyone who still uses treble hooks.
Changing the hooks means that you change the weight of the lure. The lures buoyancy is based on the hooks it comes with. If the hooks are just the slightest bit to light the lure will quickly float to the surface likewise, if the hooks are the slightest bit to heavy the lure will quickly sink to the bottom. I’m sure this works for some but for me I’d prefer it to perform as intended.
@@southernsalt They make inline hooks in many sizes and wire weights. You can match the weight of a treble so close as to be undistinguishable. It WILL NOT affect/alter the lure's perform in the slightest. But, you do you.
This was a discussion that Chris Bush of the @speckled Truth and I had years ago. I used to put inline hooks on my lures, Chris reached out to me to inform me that the sink rate would significantly change. I, like you, thought there’s no way it would affect it to a point where it would matter. Well I was wrong, I bought a scale weighed several different hooks and got it as close as I could ( it was as close as it gets without being exact) I then grew it in my pool and documented the results. The mirrodine sunk like a rock! I then went a tad lighter, the mirrodine then floated to the surface, I couldn’t keep it down. Chris Bush was 100 percent right ever since then I didn’t mess with the hooks.
I'd be pumped up also! Great bite, my man! Brother, I can't wait to reschedule our trip with Collier! Merry Christmas and Happy new year
Heck yeah brother, thank you and merry Christmas!!
