- It's been a quiet week in UK politics...

The Italian PM can't be a Liz Truss - she was democratically elected whereas LT wasn't!
At last! The government has achieved near parity with the US, even if it is the £ to $...
Thank you Gentlemen for once more confirming we are all stuffed!
He is cleverer than me. To which school did you go, Campbell?
Could you two possibly run the country, asking for a nation 🤔
Until the majority of our country avails itself of critical thinking - then alas no. Nice thought though.
UK needs a Canadian style 1993 election, where the governing Conservative party were reduced to 2 seats.
Sounds delightful 😂
Did they recover?
The Very Silly Party must be very proud of what Kwasi Kwarteng-Kwarteng-Olé-Biscuit-Barrel has achieved.
Analysis of the budget informative but frightening.
The Telegraph Matt cartoon in the last few days; “Tory MP speaker car to his constituents ‘Forget everything I’ve told you over the last 12 years!’”
The TELEGRAPH?
How have I only just discovered this? It’s brilliant, subscribed 👍🏼
One of the best RIPs. Helpful insights and good balance.
Jeremy Corbyn still living in all the fervid Blarites’ bonces including Alistair Campbell Bwuahaha
been very eager for this one
This podcast is really good, although while listening I do struggle with putting to the back of my mind the serious disdain I have for Alistair and his role in shining up shit for his war criminal chum Blair.
Conversations between Rory and Alistair always remind me of this:
Inigo Montoya: "You seem a decent fellow, I hate to kill you".
Man in Black: "You seem a decent fellow, I hate to die".
I thought you meant the other famous Inigo Montoya line.
Ha, perfect
Having two figures from opposing political sides treat each other with respect has been lacking from main stream media for years. It seems to me that MPs only play lip service to the title "Right Honorable" and then dance around the code of conduct to explain why their adversaries are neither right nor honorable.
Campbell and Stewart are a beacon of hope for me.
Kawasaki Kwatang on a fast motorbike, going backwards.
"I remember the days when Hugh Dalton..." Come on Alistair, you're not that old
5% on the higher bracket is like 25% on the lower bracket. It would have made more sense to reduce the lower bracket since the higher bracket does not even pay that 45% for the most part because it can deduct way more items than the lower bracket could even dream of.
The tax cuts are about the principle not a reward
Not so much ideology as idiotology.
Very good guys, as usual, but one thing from outside the UK that is incomprehensible! None of the media in Britain appear to discuss the current global circumstances of; Covid, Trump, De-globalization of the markets, a currency war between the US and the: Rouble, Rimnambi, Saudi Arabia, India, the Turkish Lira etc., supply chain disfunction, energy crisis, European war, all of which global circumstances Truss and Quasi-economist are sailing into with the most fundamentalist, ideologically based Free Market policy that a major economy has ever implimented. Echoes of the 'Little Britain' mentality behind Brexit that implied Britain could, not only remake itself but could also reshape the whole global reality to accord with it's own self serving, self-righteous, delusional belief system. A belief system which is clearly viewed through an overtly subjective cultural lens. The killer is even the left wing media in the UK does not appear to be directly addressing this extraordinary miopia. Just a thought from Ireland.
ALASTAIR could you please leave the naff posh jokes at the door whenever Rory's past at Eton/Oxford or friendships with upper classes is mentioned. This reverse class discrimination is beneath you and cheapens these discussions. I went to a comprehensive and like to judge people on their character not simply on their background.
I like it - it shows that they are genuinely friends and equals rather than lord and pleb
