I am a HEAVY marvel guy and I’m considering getting into dc, I’ve never been a big dc guy, I’ve read the long Halloween and hush but that’s about it aside from a few other dc books, I’ve heard about crisis and all this stuff, do you have any suggestions as to where to start?
Max I was a Marvel guy, other than the Batman story here and there and Supes and the big crossovers. It wasn't until I was in my early 20s that I got huuuuge into DC. We have a show called Old Reader New Reader where I go back and reread a storyline and my two lovely cohosts read the book for the first time. I think you would enjoy that. We do it LIVE every Tuesday at 8pm EST. Now, stories I suggest: All Star Superman, Batman Year One, Green Lantern Rebirth, Geoff John's Flash, JLA by Grant Morrison, Wonder Woman by Greg Rucka, and Kingdom Come. Now, Rebirth has some solid starts i think: Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Supersons and Flash. Those are my suggestions.
max dillion I have a giant reading order that I’m not sure I’ll be able to fit in a comment but if you have lots of money and you wanna start right at the beginning get the golden age-bronze age dc omnis, if you wanna start when the dc continuity became awesome it’s post Crisis on infinite earths after crisis for Superman read man of steel, for Wonder Woman read gods and mortals, for Batman read year one, for flash read born to run and for Green Lantern read emerald dawn
@@NearMintCondition Perfect, and if you could pause for 3 seconds on the front covers...makes it sooo much easier to identify the books. I love and appreciate these segments!
What would you recommend for someone who is trying to start with Spider-Man? I have an option to get either Amazing Spider-Man Vol.1 or Michelinie's run with Todd.
Hey there! I really enjoyed this video, thanks for posting. I have recently gotten into these omnibuses because I find the the prices of individual comics are really getting ridiculous. I'm starting to care more about the stories and art rather than collectibility in recent years. I just have a question for you. I really want to read the Clone Saga but I don't know if it is more worth it to just buy all the trades or the omnibuses. What do you think? Thanks, and keep up the great work.
The omnis of the clone saga are now easier to get and we just got announcement of a Ben Reily volume 2. :) shhh I'll be announcing that on the channel soon. But go that route. Clone saga volumes 1 and 2 and then Ben Reilly volumes 1 and 2.

Do you think they will continue to release Amazing Spiderman Omni’s chronologically even after volume 4 to the point where they’ll cover the issues from the Todd Mcfarlane and Erik Larsen runs again? Maybe in something like The Amazing Spiderman Vol.8 or something? Or do you think they’ll skip over those issues and just expect you to get the preexisting omnibus even though they aren’t numbered?
I'm hoping they will, but they will rename the volume numbers. It will take some years though. I bought volume 1 around 10 years ago and they just announced volume 4. That's why they release them all over the place.
you don't have 2 favorite runs of mine: the Marv Wolfman's around ASM #200 with the introduction of Black Cat, and Tom Defalco/Ron Frenz's after Roger Stern with the black costume and continuing the Hobgoblin enigma
Hi, so I’m currently on ASM #185 and plan on reading up to 200. Is it worth it to go the completionist route and read everything? I know up to #300 is a must because of the Venom stuff. Let me know, thanks!
May you please redo this becuase I have been reading the second amazing spider man epic collection but you only do these with omnibus and it's hard for me to fallow becuase we only have epic collection
Are they going to continue Amazing Spider Man omnibus after Vol 4? My dream is for them to continue and finish the entire run so i can collect them in the future
Is it worth following up amazing Spider-Man (Michelinie & Mcfarlane) with the adjectiveless omni (Michelinie & Larson) OR the Spider-Man vs venom omni? New to the hobby and just wondered if either follow more directly/have better stories
This is cool to see. I wish I had the omnibuses. I have the entire Essential line for Spider-Man (ASM VOL 1-11, PPSSM #1-5, WOS #1-2). It fills my entire backlist and I'm planning to get more. But I wish I had the omnibus here too.
I used to have the Essentials on X-men, but when they announced the omnibus editions and they were two to three times the amount of comics that the Masterworks contained.
@@NearMintCondition Just out of curiosity, would you be interested in the Essential Spider-Man I have? I'm trying to get enough money to start an Omnibus collection.
sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but I never owend comic books but wanted to start getting into collecting some from spider-man. I like the idea of Omnibus editions beacuse they look beautiful and contain lots of stories. I heard kravens last hunt is one of the best stories to read so is this story not in an omnibus version yet?
Hi Omar, this a helpful video, thanks. I have a question: Do you know any books that might collect The Spectacular Spider-man from the early 90s (1990-1994?, or around issues 1-250, just before Clone Saga), That was my era but I didn't read much from it at the time, and I was wondering if Marvel have it in some kind of collected format?
That, my brother is the question I get asked often. Unless you go the masterworks route, there really isn't much collected from that phenomenal series, unless it's a crossover event like Kraven's Last Hunt or Maximum Carnage. This is the Masterworks series here while we wait for an omnibus: www.amazon.com/Marvel-Masterworks-Spectacular-Spider-Man-Vol/dp/130290356X/?tag=nearmintcon-20
Really the new stuff it contains is: AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (1963) 258, 361-363, 374, 378-380; WEB OF SPIDER-MAN (1985) 1, 95-96, 101-103; QUASAR 6; AVENGERS: DEATHTRAP - THE VAULT GN; DARKHAWK 13-14; SPIDER-MAN: THE TRIAL OF VENOM; GHOST RIDER/BLAZE: SPIRITS OF VENGEANCE 5-6; ATERIAL FROM AMAZING SPIDER-MAN (1963) 373, 375, 388, ANNUAL 25-26; SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL 12; WEB OF SPIDER-MAN ANNUAL 8; MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS (1988) 117-122; SPIDER-MAN UNLIMITED (1993) 1-2; That's all new, so basically the Carnage stuff including Maximum Carnage.
This has been so helpful for my omnibus birthday/Christmas list! 😂 thank you so much man! Where did you hear about the volume 4 for Amazing Spider-man? I don't know any sites that I can go to that'll keep me up to date with new Omnis. Can you help me?
Hey brother, happy to be of service. It was just announced in the recent Marvel solicitations for January of 2019.... so places like CBR or Newsarama would have them.
So is the reason you know you're picking up where you left is because the year of the release date is after the vol 3. The Roger stern was released right after vol 3.?
Believe it or not the Roger Stern omni came out first. Marvel's release of omnis is all over the map. Volume 4 comes out next year right after the Ben Reilly omnibus.
It's honestly all over the place. If I remember correctly they released Amazing volume 1, then a couple of years later the Michelinie/Macfarlane omni then a reprint of volume 1 and then volume 2 then they released the Erik Larsen omni. I don't know the madness behind their releases, but it's not chronological at all.
Howdy Omar! I love your comprehensive reading order videos. Would you consider doing one for Spider-Man that is truly comprehensive insofar as it also incorporates trade paperbacks and standard size hard covers? I think the kids would think it's neato! :) I know I would!
Wish they would keep all marvel omnibus in stock at all times!! They have alot of followers and new readers who can't get there hands on them because they are always out of stock!!!!😢😢😢✌❤❤❤
Hey Omar, do you think they'll ever do an Alien Costume Omni collection? I know they have collected it in other formats but I haven't seen that it in Omni format and honestly, I'd buy that book (or books).
i have the first omnibus, so what epic collections can i get to lead up to the death of the stacey’s epic collection? the volume two omnibus is way to expensive right now:)
Currently reading ASM Vol.1 enjoying it at the moment, does the writing carry over the momentum over to volume 2? Or should i skip and go to mcfarlane's run with michelinie?
Do they have other omnibus now, or anything I can buy to have a collection like yours? I have marvel unlimited but I prefer the touch of paper, and I'm not a fan of having to pay for a monthly subscription, would much rather make one large purchase and never have to worry about my spidey addiction hitting a wall again
You’re telling us we can get all this stuff soft copied for much cheaper but what order is it in?? I can’t Find one video that shows the order to read these books
So now, after the new solicits, we probably only need Amazing Spider-man Omnibus 5-6 to have everything up to the Roger Stern omnibus! And then: Complete Alien Costume omnibus. Hobgoblin Saga / Wedding omnibus (material after alien costume to before mcfarlane). Amazing Spider-man by Michelinie Bagley and DeMatteis. + Maximum Carnage OHC separately. So, 5 more omnibus to have all Amazing from 1962 to 2007!
Yes sir, there are Epic collections available. They aren't oversized art, more so standard tpb size artwork with half the issues of the omnibus, but cheaper. Here is the link to volume one of the Epic: www.amazon.com/Amazing-Spider-Man-Epic-Collection-Great/dp/0785188347/?tag=nearmintcon-20
Can you do a similar series for your Batman collection?
I absolutely can. But being that I only collect DC after Crisis on Infinite Wars, I may need to include the trades on that video.
The ultimate DC vs. Marvel crossover. "The Crisis on Infinite Wars"
Nick Martin "Crisis on Infinity Wars" must be mindblowing
You know what's funny is one of our earlier episodes from two years ago was called Crisis on Secret Wars.

Love these reading order videos keep it up
Thank you. Part two will be out this coming week.
Too much knowledge, my brains are seeping out my ears. Thx for the mess Omar. :) Have a good one.
Too much knowledge is what I like to drop, brother. :) you have heard me talk about X-men, right?
Were do i get the first 2 books you showed
Volume 1 comes back to print in June and 2 is now on sale.
Mary Jane will always be the hottest female character... hoohaw!
Hellz yeah!!!
Agreed. All hail the tedheads! :D
Black cat🤷♂️
Hammer head is the better waifu
Need to update this with all the new omnis and ohc out....great info!
Next year I will be doing exactly that.
Go with Michelinie's omni, unless you are a fan of silver age story telling.
Guys I'd like to know how to collect omnibuses like these so if you know pls help me
What about all the other issues like 143 till 205
Im definitely getting this man ive been wanting to get into 616 spidey for the longest
I have the todd mcfarlane visionaries trades and was wondering is there must of a difference in image quality
The art is cleaner in the omnibus and its oversized.
@@NearMintCondition thanks

Do I do now I looked up the next chapter and it’s getting expensive in trade paperback
I hpe they are reprinted one day.
It’s time to do an updated version of this
9:15 It's Morbin time!
Wheres part 2 dude?
you don't have 2 favorite runs of mine: the Marv Wolfman's around ASM #200 with the introduction of Black Cat, and Tom Defalco/Ron Frenz's after Roger Stern with the black costume and continuing the Hobgoblin enigma
José Sarango sadly those aren’t available in OHC or Omnibus format. Return of the Burglar was released as a standard Hardcover though.
The Spider-man by stern omni is OOP sadly, that's the next one I need to find!
I’m looking to sell mine.... I couldn’t dig the older stuff. Are you interested?
I love bringing people together. :)
Absolutely!! Great timing. I’d love to sell to someone who will appreciate it.
We really need a new Spider-Man reading order! There's so much new omnis!
Yes we do!
@@NearMintCondition And we need Kraven's Last Hunt in Omnibus format! 😅
Hi, so I’m currently on ASM #185 and plan on reading up to 200. Is it worth it to go the completionist route and read everything? I know up to #300 is a must because of the Venom stuff. Let me know, thanks!
I say keep going, because the Roger Stern run is legendary.
the 1st appearance of daredevil was in AMS? tia
He first appeared in his own book and then his first appearance out of the book was in AMS.
They for sure will be. It will jut take them years.
@@NearMintCondition thats great to hear:) btw this review was fantastic👍
Thank you so much, seriously.
Why doesn't vol 4 have Marvel Team Up 1?
I’m sure there will be a Marvel Team Omnibus.
Just out of curiosity, where would you fit in the venomnibus? If you had to put it in somewhere?
Right after the Spider-man vs. Venom book.
Is it worth following up amazing Spider-Man (Michelinie & Mcfarlane) with the adjectiveless omni (Michelinie & Larson) OR the Spider-Man vs venom omni? New to the hobby and just wondered if either follow more directly/have better stories
It is. If you are a fan of the art totally go for adjetiveless if you like the story go for Spidey Vs. Venom.
Thankyou so much!
@@NearMintCondition I know, which is why I kind of want to get the Omnibus versions of most Spider-Man comics. But I don't know where to start.
Depends on what you like brother. You can start with the original Amazing Fantasy 15 collected in volume 1 or the modern age with MacFarlane omni.
@@NearMintCondition Just out of curiosity, would you be interested in the Essential Spider-Man I have? I'm trying to get enough money to start an Omnibus collection.
@@MastermindAXL I sold all my Essentials a few years ago to make room for my omnis. You can always try the ebay or half price books route.
sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but I never owend comic books but wanted to start getting into collecting some from spider-man.
This is the Masterworks series here while we wait for an omnibus:
www.amazon.com/Marvel-Masterworks-Spectacular-Spider-Man-Vol/dp/130290356X/?tag=nearmintcon-20
Is Spider man v Venom much new material? I have both the michiline Omnis and I was planning on skipping Spider Man v Venom Omni.
I wonder why there is not many info about the Spiderman Erik larsen omnibus, is that bad?
I happen to really enjoy it.
Is there an omnibus that has the secret wars arc where Peter first gets the symbiote suit???
Biryani Boi that’s the Secret Wars Omnibus. But no alien costume saga Omni. Just two trades.
@@NearMintCondition Alright, got it...Thanks!
Amazing Spider-Man by David Michelinie or Geoff Jhon’s green lantern which is better?
ooooohhhhh Geoff John's Green Lantern for sure.
from where do u get theese???????please tell me!
Usually amazon
@@NearMintCondition so they'll release later material first and then you go back and start from the beginning later on.? Basically.
@@NearMintCondition well then I'll just read whatever I buy and not wait anything out. But regardless your video does help so thanks for this.
Can you update these videos?
Yes. Going to work on those sometime later this year or early next year.
can u tell me best cheap way of collecting amazing spider#1-300
Epics will be your cheapest way, but some are out of print.
is a dan slott omnibus for amazing spider-man coming?
I cant find where to buy the amazing spider man vol 1
It comes back to print in June. Keep an eye out then.
Ok
Well... now a video with all the NON Amazing Spider-man Omnibus, right? :)
hahahaha well played, sir. I think I could work on that too.
4:40 Yes I would pick that iconic cover by John Romita Sr. over a duplicate by Humberto Ramos any day.
Howdy Omar! I love your comprehensive reading order videos. Would you consider doing one for Spider-Man that is truly comprehensive insofar as it also incorporates trade paperbacks and standard size hard covers? I think the kids would think it's neato! :) I know I would!
I actually am planning on doing that later this year or early next year.
Could you update this video please?
Wish they would keep all marvel omnibus in stock at all times!! They have alot of followers and new readers who can't get there hands on them because they are always out of stock!!!!😢😢😢✌❤❤❤
Did they announce when Vol 4 will be coming out?
Hey Omar, do you think they'll ever do an Alien Costume Omni collection? I know they have collected it in other formats but I haven't seen that it in Omni format and honestly, I'd buy that book (or books).
Very nice job!!!!
How often do they get re printed
Update this video with all the new Spider-Man books!
i have the first omnibus, so what epic collections can i get to lead up to the death of the stacey’s epic collection? the volume two omnibus is way to expensive right now:)
You will need Epics 3 through 5.
Currently reading ASM Vol.1 enjoying it at the moment, does the writing carry over the momentum over to volume 2? Or should i skip and go to mcfarlane's run with michelinie?
Oh no, it gets better and better.
Have you read them all? also will you do a giveway soon?
All of these on the video, yes. I think our next giveaway is when we hit the 5K mark, but it will be a big one. :)
You’re telling us we can get all this stuff soft copied for much cheaper but what order is it in?? I can’t Find one video that shows the order to read these books
Epic collections are what you are looking for.
So now, after the new solicits, we probably only need Amazing Spider-man Omnibus 5-6 to have everything up to the Roger Stern omnibus!
And then:
Complete Alien Costume omnibus.
We got a while to go and I hope they keep pumping them out.
Is there any cheaper alternatives to the omnibus? I’m new to getting into this stuff and the only ones I can find are rather pricey.
Yes sir, there are Epic collections available. They aren't oversized art, more so standard tpb size artwork with half the issues of the omnibus, but cheaper. Here is the link to volume one of the Epic:
www.amazon.com/Amazing-Spider-Man-Epic-Collection-Great/dp/0785188347/?tag=nearmintcon-20
Near Mint Condition thank you! Keep up the good content!
As long as people like you keep watching, I will. :)
