I watch a few other comic-related channels too but Omar literally is the best, he does the best & most comprehensive work as a fan/collector & as a vehicle for amplifying our voices as fans. The fact that he gets exclusives on upcoming releases shows both sides (fans & Marvel sales dept) truly know he has a gift!
One of my biggest pet peeves is buying graphic novels and having omnibus selections come out later. I’m hoping these fillers will have Omni representation later.
Having in my possession most of these this is gold to me.Unrelated :Never thinking i would ever see an entity such as Thanos ..getting a glimpse of him at Avengers movie i stood up"the avengers will be destroyed"the look i got: the old black guy must be insane.
This is so awesome can't wait for the next one. Been working hard on collecting most of these to enjoy for the first time but Thanos Quest, Silver Surfer issues just amazing work.
I always have a great time going through these reading orders!! Recently decided to give Infinity Gauntlet another go and I think I actually like it better now. I had forgotten when Death brought Big T back to the land of the living he was even more powerful than he was way back when when he was holding off Thor and the Thing (at the same time) in hand to hand.
I'll consider this a reading recommendation since I'm planning on reading the cosmic universe in Marvel Comics. Nice review, Omar. I just so happen to have two comic volumes that take place in Marvel Cosmic which are War of Kings and Realm of Kings.
We need to lead up paper back in an omnibus for mat but the word out please Omar I’m sure would sell well seeing every one is getting the other three books makes sense 😊😊😊😊😊
hey Omar how are you? hope well! I'm glad you finally got to do this reading order. I actully suggested this about a year ago when we were talking about you looking for thanos redemption for me. anyhow once again so glad you finally did this and looking forward to part 2! stay safe and keep up the great work!
Difficult work, going through all of this & putting it in the right order 😲 I started the Cosmic/Thanos arc with the "Avengers vs. Thanos" collection & Guardians of the Galaxy Solo Classic Omnibus. I'm glad you put _Cosmic Powers_ in here, too, I just found a remaindered copy on clearance for $10 at one of my LCS! I organize my bookcases alphabetically by title/team/character & sub-organized chronologically, so reading certain things in order can be a challenge, thank you for this. Edit: Oh man, that Silver Surfer EC has some intense moments! I missed out on those tie-ins for years before buying it & MAN was I hooked 😄
Great review and a nice recap of stuff I loved reading back in the day and re-reading now in some capacity. Heck you even snuck in a New Warriors Omni Vol 2 plug in there as well which makes it even better. Looking fwd to part 2!
That Infinity War Omnibus spine sticks out like a sore thumb. Anyway... I'm a sucker for Starlin and Thanos. Have the boxset and Omnis... Just missing the Infinity Crusade Omni. Double dipping? Yup. Do I feel sorry? You know better. Keep up the good work Omar!
I would luv to see a reading order of bendis new avengers years. Mixed in with house of m, planet and world war hulk, civil war , the death of captain America, mighty avengers, everything. Now that would be a reading order challenge.
@@NearMintCondition lol started buying on your second video now. Got Annihilation and Annihilation Conquest. May have to cool it for a bit after I get all of these haha.
Only thing I was missing was Cosmic Powers because I concentrated on Starlin by itself. Amazon is running a deal for a $7 for the book if it's still available I scooped mine up. Heads up for everyone before they're gone!
Thank you for putting this out. The overviews are wonderful for characters that have several different series that they're featured in! But now I want a Captain Marvel by Peter David omni!
This was the first comprehensive Story line that I read from Marvel. Anf sure, it was mighty confusing att first but I just West along for the Ride and to this Day I enjoy the cosmic parts of Marvel the most (granted I'm not though Claremont's run on the X-Men yet).
New to this, I heard some people say the Infinitely Gauntlet omnibus requires some skipping around to actually read it in order. Is this accurate/what order do you suggest for this? Is much lost by just reading it cover to cover?
- Are you sure that something from the ORIGINS-Book is reprinted with GotG? There're no GotG in it. - in THE DEATH OF CAPTAIN MARVEL is influenced by the death of Starlin's father - That's actually Nebula's original look. The one we're used to, esp. since the Movies, came later. - Warlock didn't have to get rid of his good & evil. It was a choice. He thought that by doing this his decisions would necessarily be neutral & just. - Silver Surfer/Warlock: Resurrection is actually the continuation of SILVER SURFER: HOMECOMING. The reference the events of that GN. I'm surprised that it's not in there. - The one in THOR isn't actually Thanos. Not anymore anyway. Starlin came back to retcon this & others (like KA-ZAR and so on). Thanos is basically Starlin's Main Focus. Even in CAPTAIN MARVEL & the WARLOCK-Books. After IG he wasn't really a villain anymore. He certainly wasn't fixated on Death anymore. For example see the IW-Tie-ins from MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS (I, THANOS - actually the 1st time Death spoke to him). In THOR he was back to his old ways. Without any explanation or motivation. I guess Starlin was pissed & did INFINITY ABYSS. After that, in THANOS 1 - 6 he presented the redemption with without any subtlety so no one would make those mistakes again. Personally, I think that most writers didn't get Thanos. Marz (but some people refer to him as Ron Starlin Jr.) and DnA are the exceptions. Well, Giffen was alright too. But the rest, not so much. It's like I'm reading about a different character. IA isn't very good. As much as I agree with Starlin retconning stuff like THOR his agenda is way to obvious. Makes it a little ham-fisted. - THE END: Starlin claims that he wasn't clear on the concept. He conceived it within the regular continuity. It shows later on because it's referenced in THANOS 1 - 6. Personally, I think he might've ignored the concept. Just a little bit. Officially it's out of continuity. Personally I read as continuity because that's how Starlin wrote it. Also, there's really nothing in it that contradicts continuity at that time. It's Starlin going back to his lust for philosophy. It's a tough read at times. But I prefer it over IA. - Starlin left Marvel because of some argument after THANOS 6. Not the 1st time, not the last time. ;-) - Do you know JIM STARLIN: A LIFE IN WORDS AND PICTURES?
So on the spine of the Thanos Infinity Abyss TPB, it says Vol 2. I can’t find a TPB for Thanos Vol 1 before that though. Does anyone know what that would be?

Hi Marvel, could i get an infinity saga omnibus with all of this crammed into one book. haha picture me at home all day, stretching out the spine of that 100,000 page sucker.
I've always liked Ron LIms version of the Silver Surfer. He's right up there with the best Silver Surfer artists like John Buscema, Moebius, Ron Garney, Esad Ribic,...Speaking of John Buscema, will Marvel ever reprint the Marvel Graphic novel Silver Surfer Judgment Day by Stan lee and John Buscema ? Or is it available in another collection or TPB ? They really should release this as a Marvel Treasury edition, the art deserves it...
