    WHOA! I went to bed with 205 views after 2 days (high performing video for my little ole channel), and woke up to 1,050 views.... WHAT?! Holy heckin, Batman! Thank you to everyone who's watched this review, I really do appreciate it!
    If you enjoyed this review, help me kick that algorithm in the face! Leave a comment, like, share, it helps more than you know! I put a lot of work into these videos, even the ridiculous ones (especially the ridiculous ones, lol). I really enjoy making these vids, I feel like reviewing and comparing hardware and different configurations is my calling. So any help I can get in reaching that goal as an every day thing, I truly appreciate!
    Also, forgot to mention in the video, this GPU was purchased for $550.00 USD (before tax/shipping).
    You're breathtaking!

      WHOA! I mention this and the momentum stops.. What's up with that, UA-cam? My video has plateaued since day 2.
      To be clear, I'm not ungrateful for the views I'm getting on this video, I really appreciate the support you've all given by watching my ridiculous videos! But something seems to have set off YT's "alarm bells" and my video has stalled.
      So, if you're a fan, if you're new and you like this video or my other videos, please, like and share! It really helps my channel.
      Thank you all, you're all awesome!

      There's definitely a place for the more in depth technical analysis, and I appreciate the channels that do. A lot of work goes into what they do. But from the start, I wanted this channel to be informative, but easy to understand. If I just throw numbers at people, it's going to be boring, and it won't be enjoyable for me to make, either. Plus, I'm a consumer just as much as anyone else, this all comes out of my own time and money. It's important to me to know whether or not this product makes sense.

    I bought this exact card a few days ago, and will be running it with a 3900X as workhorse, 3rd-in-line gaming PC. Not much run time yet, but so far I don't find it unduly loud. All PC fans are loud at about 75% and higher.

    • @hardlytech9072
      @hardlytech9072  9 місяців тому

      I've mentioned in other comments, that it could be that my sample is the odd one out, it's entirely possible. But mine gets quite loud between 50-60% fan speed. The cooling is quite good at 50% though, so it's not a huge deal.

  • @Ateia22
    @Ateia22 2 роки тому +15

    Great review, I wanna say a few things first I think the fan-related issue might be just a unit thing, I bought this GPU after seeing your review and I live in a pretty hot area with no ac which means the fans are usually running at around 55-67% while gaming and in my unit they are super quiet I can't even hear the card working. Second, for those that do video editing in Davinci this card works as expected I replaced my 5700 xt with it and actually noticed an improvement in Davinci Resolved while video scrubbing everything is way smoother. I don't have adobe so can't test that but for Davinci, it works as expected.

      Cool, I'm glad you got a boost in DaVinci. I'm hoping more people can give more feedback on it here so others can see it and decide. In my use case with Powerdirector, it was a downgrade, BUT, I've read it doesn't utilize OpenCL super well, so I'm not too surprised. I'd still love to be able to compare to nVidia directly in other software, just to know for sure.
      As far as the fans, it's entirely possible it's just unit variance, but I also don't know how common that variance is/will be. I can only report on my own experience. Like I'd mentioned, below ~50% fan speed, it was very quiet, at ~60% it was about as loud at my 3080 Ti @80% fan speed. This 6750 at ~70% fan speed was as loud as my 3080 Ti @100%. Above that it just got much louder. If there are other people who can comment on this, and it turns out to be that mine is the odd one out, I'll probably try to RMA and do a follow up on it.
      Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it!

    best review so far and quite entertaining.
    most of the people just skip everything and go straight to gaming benchmarks, which is obsolete in my opinion, because the all the cards performe same and i really dont care about how much fps it gets on what games without telling me how it performs temperature and noise wise (fan speed).

      Yeah, I get where you're coming from. I appreciate those channels that just jump into benchmarks for what they are, I have nothing against them. But sometimes even I, myself, am looking for the nuances of each component and can't find that information. That's where the inspiration for this channel comes from.

      Thanks for watching and your kind words! It's a solid GPU, it can handle 1080p/1440p editing fairly well, mostly smoothly. When you start adding effects it begins to slow down a lot during scrubbing and you can end up with playback sync issues. 4k tends to be hard on this one especially, but as far as I've heard and read, programs like DaVinci Resolve make better use of OpenCL, and do better with AMD GPU's than programs like Premiere Pro or Powerdirector.
      That said, nVidia still has an advantage in most programs.

    • @hardlytech9072

      There's not much more to say than what was covered in the review. The decrease in bandwidth can affect max performance, but it won't be a huge difference (any loss in performance sucks, though). There are a few good videos on the topic on YT, and threads online.
      Luckily this GPU features full PCI-E 16X 4.0. If you want to look into the card you purchased for your friend, you can download GPU-Z on their PC and run it. It will show you what bandwidth the GPU is running at in real time. Keep in mind, if the GPU isn't being utilized fully, it may not use all 16 lanes, so it would be best to run it in the background, then start a game and see what GPU-Z says.

    Nice review! Have the quik 319 model ordered for this and really looking forward to it. Was using a laptop with 2060 mobile GPU until it died so this is going to be a nice upgrade!
    I have noticed some huge disparencies in the rx6750xt reviews. Most place it around 3070 levels outside of raytracing but there are some reviews which have terrible performance comparisons. Read a review this morning which had the 3060ti beating this card by large margins in the majority of games which didn't make any sense given other comparisons I have seen. Wonder what is causing such large disparencies?

    • @hardlytech9072
      @hardlytech9072  2 роки тому +5

      Awesome, I hope you enjoy your new GPU!
      As for performance, in my own testing, it places between the 3060 Ti and the 3070. The discrepancies could be from a number of causes. Could be that certain cards have the same problem some of the 6700 XT's have. Some only have PCI-E X8 trace on the card. Could be that some might be running without S.A.M. enabled. It's hard to say.
      It's the reason I try to give as much information up front as possible when I do my reviews. It adds to the run time, but I think it helps when someone's trying to make a purchasing decision.

    I bought a 6750 XT because I had a RTX 2080 Founders and the performance was almost double. The box I got was not only fancy but it came with a mouse pad. Because I ordered it from AMD directly it was more fancy than yours. Under non gaming loads, such as video watching the fans never run as the cooling of the heatsink was enough. I had run this card in an older build and while I was using a 1k Watt power supply the system couldn't handle the card under gaming load. Again, old system. My new system also uses the Ryzen 9 7950X and my power supply is still 1k Watt (newer). If I need I'll order a 1200 Watt or higher. I play at 4K on a Samsung UHDTV. 60fps is my limit. MSI isn't the best option for quality, outside if their top tier GPU options. But, if you're on a budget, and you don't intend to do much, or any overclocking, they do just fine. When I look for a GPU for myself, I look at the GPU's warranty, and how the company handles their RMA claims. Then I like to look at their heatsink design (density of the fin-stacks, airflow configuration of the fans, power regulation on the pcb).
      My XFX being loud may have been an outlier, but I believe it has to do with the fins being so close together and the fans moving a lot of air.

    I'm torn between a 6700xt ($500) or 6750xt ($550). Is it worth the $50 price gap for future proofing? This seems to be a more reasonable, less hyper-critical review compared to the more known channels that always crunch price per %/$ nonsense and never consider factors like inflation, rising materials cost, shortages etc and just bash manufacturers no matter the product.

    • @hardlytech9072

      That's tough to answer.
      The only advantage the RX 6750 XT has over the RX 6700 XT is higher vRam speed. It does tend to offer ~2-5 more fps depending on the game/scenario when aiming for 60fps.
      On the one hand, no, it's probably not 'worth it' because it's costing another $50-$100. But considering the cost of the RX 6800 / XT and the RTX 3070 / Ti, it's not so much extra to pay for a little more performance.
      Checking just now, the RTX 3070 base is going for ~$600 and tends to offer better overall performance, but it does offer only 8GB of vRam.
      If you really want to buy NOW and want to save some money, go with the RX 6700 XT and do a little overclocking, I'd say. And if you really want more performance, bump up to the RTX 3070.

      I would say, if you do any Streaming or Video Editing, I'd go with the RTX 3060 Ti. Or if you want to use Ray Tracing. If you don't care about using Ray Tracing, and the price is as good as or better than the 3060 Ti, I'd go with the RX 6750 XT, or even the 6700 XT if you can get it for even less.

    In response to your observations with video editing I have a couple of questions. Have you ever tried using Black Magic Designs DaVinci Resolve? Also have you ever tried using AMD Pro Drivers? I recently watched a video about fixes found with using AMD GPUs that mentioned trying out the PRO Drivers. They mentioned something I was not aware of is that you can use the Pro Drivers with any AMD GPU. I do not know if this would make any difference or not but may be worth trying. I have an older system that has a Ryzen 9 5950x CPU and a Radeon 7 GPU. I do not know how using the Adrenalian Drivers preform as I have always used the PRO Drivers. I use DaVinci Resolve Studio for video editing and have gotten decent performance, using an Nvidia card with CUDA is faster. However when I built my system I do not do video editing as a job and built an all AMD system because I did not like the way Intel and Nvidia did business. This has not changed except AMD has in many ways joined them. I was looking forward to upgrading my GPU but due to all of the OUTRAGEOUS pricing I have decided to skip this generation of PC components. Just because new stuff that is faster does not stop my current PC from working.

      @@hardlytech9072 Yes Adobe only works well with Nvidia CUDA. If you use any gpu that does not have CUDA you will have terribile performance. I stopped using Adobe software when they went with their software rental business model. If you try out DaVinci Resolve even though their free version is fully functional it is not as fast as their Studio version. In the free version they use open source encoding software where as the Resolve Studio uses better encoders. In comparison to Adobe, Resolve does everything that 3 or 4 Adobe applications that are needed for video production like audio and special effects, sorry but I cannot remember their names. The Studio license is only 350 dollars for a perpetual license. After you buy it you get all future updates for free. Their are tons of fades and wipes that are included as well as utilizing all the hardware you give it like multiple GPU's. Black Magic Design mainly makes cameras and other hardware like very expensive video editing work stations. DaVinci Resolve started out as professionale color grading software that has been used a lot in Hollywood and over the years new features have been added. Watch some of the DaVinci Resolve tutorials as well as videos comparing the free version with the Studio version. Because they have the free version you can check it out to see if you like it. Just keep in mind that it works different it is not Adobe. Another positive for me is that Resolve runs natively on Windows, Mac OS as well as Linux. I recently discovered that due to the efforts of the Valve Corporation the majority of the games in my PC game libraries both on Steam as well as GOG now run great on Linux even though the majority are Windows games. Due to this I have now stopped using Windows 10 and I have installed Grauda Linux. When I decided to learn video editing as well as music production I chose Resolve for video and Bit Wig Studio because the both run natively on Linux.

And the extra 4GB of vRam doesn't hurt, expecially at higher resolutions.
      Core vs Ultra - Ultra has higher base, boost and gaming clock speeds. Not a lot higher, but still higher from the factory. It used to be that they also used different capacitors and mosfets for better power regulation. But from what I can tell, they're the same cards with different boost clocks.
