It would be nice if they made them have a glow or something around them since alot of shiny pokemon look similar to the plain ones
I feel like the lack of audio and visual queue is a balance to the fact that so many Pokemon are constantly on screen. This way you still have to go up and check them, which is essentially encountering it like the old games. Finding shinies in this game has been a lot more fun that Legends Arceus where it would sparkle before you even saw it.

If you want to catch a shiny or a pokemon you really want to use scyther or any pokemon that has false swipe.False swipe lowers the pokemons health but won't make them faint.

i found an shiny hoppip at the start of my adventure! in my lifetime of playing pokémon (which is over 10 years), that's i think one of 5 shiny pokémon i encountered and one of 3 shiny pokémon i catched :')
The first shiny i saw and caught in scarlet was a murkrow but this was just random, i wasn’t even shiny hunting. If you ever see your pokemon not auto battling a pokemon, most likely it’s a shiny so pay close attention lol.

Outbreaks are no joke. I did a noibat outbreak with a shiny sandwich and no charm, and got 2 shinys in 5 minutes. Seriously awesome

was riding miraidon down the flower plains, had hoppip and jumpluff and needed skiploom for my dex. Saw a green one finally in the clump. Turns out it was a shiny hoppip lmao

It you are farming by a town if you walk into it, all pokemon despawn so is quicker than using a picnic, hope this helps

Omg thx so much for this info I really needed it. And also apparently if you have a Pokémon from a different language as well as another Pokémon from the same egg group then if you make them breed, the chances of it being a shiny drop to around 2000
the language trick is called the masuda method, coded in by jenuchi masuda in i believe gen 4. the egg group has no effect on shiny odds, just that if you try to breed pokemon from different groups, they wont me eggs at all
So me and my friend are a bit confused about shiny buff's so do the food/charm shiny buffs work on all wild pokemon or only on outbreak pokemon? and when stacking that 60 kill streak in an outbreak do you have that buff forever when hunting that mon type in outbreaks or if you get the same outbreak again is it refreshed and you gotta stack that 60 kill streak again?

I've been thinking the base rate's been boosted even further than advertised, because just yesterday within two hours I found two shiny Lechonks. I still haven't even entered the school yet. I've had some crazy shiny luck in the past, but this is crazy even compared to that.
Top 5 shiny pokemon in my book!
-Gyrados (Dunno if thats how you spell it, but the lake of rage gyrados is freaking iconic.)
-Vaporeon (Dont you dare call me sus but vaporeon is amazing. Its adorable and the perfect balance of detailed and simple. Its shiny is all the more rewarding with its blue changed to a really cute pink/purple.)
-Sylveon (Easy, its pink changes to blue. Its adorable.)
-Umbreon (All on this list have been cliché and popular, but shiny umbreon is sick. And you cant lie.)
-Eevee (I know. Its only been eeveelutions +eevee and gyrados, but dont you agree? The eeveelutions are amazing themselves but some of their shinies stick out in an amazing way.)

3 magnemite outbreaks this week, farmed and respawned about 4 hours each time, and not a single shiny appeared. I have yet to see a single shiny at all in Scarlett.

I have 2 shinies; an Eevee I got from masuda method and a Fletchling that was full odds from near the starting area

What is the shiny rate if u use the shiny charm and the food buff
great video... except you forgot one thing.. shiny charm usually stacks woth mesuda method so if i am not mistaken that takes the odds to 1 in 445 on a shiny , i however am not sure if that works in this game too, and whether or not the sparkeling boost from aandwich will lower it too, is so, i inmagine it to be 1 in 386 or so

I have found three in the outbreaks. And just like pla, catching them seems to make them spawn ridiculously fast!
Does that 60 knock out also apply outside of outbreaks? Like can I just simply knock out 60 random Lechonk for increased odds?

I got 3 yesterday that were full odds, & now I'm very interested I'm this game.
I found a shiny stunky and i was very concerned by what I saw.
It was hard to tell if it was shiny or just in a weird light
With no sound or indication i'm paranoid of missing shinies now.
Same, I full Odds pulled a Shiny Drowzee and I’m like 2 hrs into the game and just finished school. 😂 not the biggest Hypno fan but I guess I am now.

been doing masuda for a shiny charmander and i think im probably around 300 eggs so far and no luck ive been grinding through eggs like craaazy lately, ive also got the shiny charm i found a shiny deino by accident and i found a shiny froslass from an outbreak, im so happy! lol

I don’t know if there were any I’ve missed (since ya know, there’s no visual or audio queue to indicate one), but I caught 2 full odds shinies so far, a Hoppip and a Dunsparce
I have a question do defeating the Pokémon have to be chained? Like if I accidentally kill a random Pokémon after 50 chains do I need to restart the process?
Do the boosted odds only happen in outbreaks after beating x pokemon

You can save after you kill 60 in an outbreak and if you reset you will still continue with increased shiny odds? So in case the outbreak dissapear i can close the game and reset

during the mass outbreaks do you have to chain the same pokemon for it to count for the shinny counter?
No. you can do your quests or level up your pokemon then come back later. the only thing that matters is the event itself. so as long as you dont defeat too many of them to end the outbreak it will be fine.
Is the 60+ chained and is it possible for it be broken?
For the 60+ KOs, does this modifier reset ever? Or is it such that once you have KOd that many of that species, you get the reroll forever going forward?
Try to get outbreaks near towns so you can simply go in and out of the town to respawn. Also, some outbreaks have "sweet spots" where you can optimize seeing a number of spawn spots after ending your respawn picnic. Sandwiches, even the best ones, do not guarantee a shiny, so make sure to save your game just before you make a sandwich. Sandwich power will disappear if you try to change the system clock, and will only last 30 minutes real world time, so be careful! Best of luck out there!

It's nice having a video that get's right down to what you need to do and is decently short for it.
Now combine the sandwich, the mass outbreaks and the shiny charm and you'll get more shinies

I literally caught 3 shinies at the start of the game. (Scatterbug, Psyduck and Azurill) I was and am still in shock. I think I used up my life‘s luck now. + Scatterbug and Psyduck were like 5 minutes apart

I found a shiny heracross with no sandwich boosters or shiny charm when trying to find 5 star terra raids to get herba mystica to get shiny pokemon
Well I guess I was lucky. I wandered the start zone and found a shiny spider. I saw the red ball hanging on the tree and was like wait.. the others are white. Did I find a shiny?! And yes I did.
Got my first shiny, a pink Lechonk, in the first part of the game. I was looking for a Ralts while on my way to the school, named him Jamon.

Already got 2 full odds shinies back 2 back with some farming in an area. Saw a gold magicarp and caught it, and when running back i saw a black little sandcastle 🥰.
Potentially missed a pink dolphin/pink qwilifish because insaw it swimming in the distance but didnt have boat mode unlocked yet.

Just found a random shiny snorunt lurking in a cave. One of the shinies I was hunting in arceus so very cool! Didnt know how the mechanics worked yet, besides knowing about the sandwich buff. @@kaelyngee6170 its a small little cave idk exactly. its on route if you want to go from the ice to the ghost gym area. But just everywhere where snorunt spawns basicly, it was a full odds and wasn't particularly hunting it in Scarvi yet (I was in arceus though so very happy i got it in scarvy x3)
Does the rate reset if you accidentally attack a different pokemon?
Yes.but in my experience you can save while chaining and restart if u accidentally do that and it will retain your chain.. I did that for my shiny wooper and drakloak.
it doesnt. save and reload, teleport to another place, defeat different pokemon does not matter as long as the mass outbreak is still ongoing.
