That's actually right. I've ripped the 3ds os's music and this song is actually just a copy paste of the settings music in a new application with the configuration file changed so that all other channels are muted except for this. On top of that, the internet music is also part of this track.
@@toetickler4500 I would like this comment to reach many people and give my opinion. I pretendo it's great, but you have to think that it is no longer the same as before even if we use it; We are not sad because the online has closed, we are sad, nostalgic and melancholic because we miss the time in which the 3DS was our absolute comfort zone, our childhood, adolescence, on Sundays playing animal crossing new leaf without worries, the times past... We miss having 2 games a year for our birthday and Christmas, making the most of what we had and having fun, meeting kids like us at that time through Miiverse, or going to the ACNL island and seeing that the people on their id they have "I sell delicious fruit" instead of his Instagram username. That's what we miss when we remember 3ds and its online, neither Pretendo nor anyone else is going to return all that even if they return the online (which is a very positive thing, but sometimes you have to move on). Thanks for getting this far to whoever has read me :)
It is rather heavenly... It is also rather scary, because usually 3DS music is upbeat, but without the extra instruments it, this sounds out of place. Kinda like Déjà vu. It is rather nostalgic, I'll say that's for sure.
SupaIsaiah016 I simply think it’s just trying to send the message that it’s incomplete. People have hacked the thing in its factory state and saw how barebones the thing is before the initial setup gets done. It makes sense why it’s just the settings music but it’s just one track. Have you considered why it has to connect to the internet before a format? It deletes EVERYTHING and replaces it with the barebones. Perhaps I’m just reading into this too much, but that’s what I think it is.
This plays while an almost blinding light shines in front of your unborn self and a voice says “Are you ready to be part of something bigger than yourself?”
This song is nice... out of the way not drawing attention to itself. It is just there going about it's business and seems that it knows that once you impatiently speed through the set up it will never play again. It almost seems like it is okay that it will never play again through your speakers and that it will be forgotten by so many.
I got a red 3DS a long time ago and I have all the pictures that were on it on a computer so I'll see if I can get the date on them. It slipped from my hand, fell to the ground and never turned on again. I got a sparkly blue 3DS later, I don't remember at all when I got it. I actually still have it, and it still works like new... NINTENDO 3DS. I got a New Nintendo 3DS with a splatoon back plate. I modded the heck outta that thing and never did anything cool with it. EDIT: I had the sparkly blue one first. I got a grey one later. I'm so sad my father threw it in the garbage before i could take a pic of it.
In a way, I guess it kind of is like a save point. We're all saving our experiences here by telling our stories for the world to see. It's truly amazing how so many people can come together over a song that most of us have probably only ever heard for 30 seconds, or a few minutes at most, while setting up our 3DS systems.
why can't the clock stop ticking? I used to listen to my older cousins endlessly reminisce about their gameboys. that seemed like an impossible fate - my 3DS would never lose its magic. the fun would never end, right? ...right?
It won't. Even if they shutdown the servers, one truly amazing feature is *still alive* Download play *BUT THERE'S NO POINT CRYING OVER EVERY MISTAKE* *YOU JUST KEEP ON TRYING TILL YOU RUN OUT OF CAKE* *AND THE SCIENCE GETS DONE* *AND YOU MAKE A NEET GUN* *FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ARE* *STILL ALIIIIIVE.*
The title of this is posted as "3DS First Time Set Up - Lost Music." I guess you found this music when 3DS era is ending. I'm not getting alot of streetpasses anymore, so I'm probably going to be stuck with an incomplete task in StreetPass Mii Plaza. The task is "Get 100 streetpasses in one day." I read Maine and New York City were the best places to go to complete those tasks, but I never been to those places when I had the 3DS. I think I never been to Maine either, but I could be wrong.
I want to say the same thing because I dont have a switch, but you never know about the younger kids. its like how so many people had so many memories with the n64 and SNES or any other console, but I just was not around then. my memories are with the wii and 3ds, but someone else may have thought that the wii wont be as good as the gamecube
My cousin used to go to her friend's houses all the time. One time she took me with her and I got to meet her friend. (Her name was Caroline) She started up her Xbox 360 and connected three controllers and gave one to me. We played skylanders and minecraft for hours. Then I started to come over to her house a lot more often. I'll never forget all the good times I had with her. Even if I don't live as close to her as I used to, I still love coming over and playing games with her. Caroline, my very best friend, thank you for making me smile and thank you for always being there for me and my cousin. Love Emilia.
The 3ds is a sytem we have so many memories with, i honestly feel bad for the new generation that will never hear this song, feel what it feels like to love this little system. God bless you iwata
2011. I’m at school and see everyone sitting around one classmate of mine, I go see what the fuss is about and I see she has a brand new 3DS and is playing nintendogs on it. I was freaking out. Begged my parents to get it ever since and they got me a pink one for my birthday that same year (hated the color at the time, I wanted the blue one but they were out of stock, then later I changed my mind. I love it) I’d play mario, nintendogs, my very first zelda games (ALBW being my first) and watch videos for hours on end on it... on summers, my parents would drop me off on my grandparents’ house up north, bringing my DS and 3DS and hang out with a neighbor of mine. Those days are long gone, my grandparents have passed away now, and I own a switch, but I still play on my 3DS. It’s a little worn out, I’ve lost so many styluses for it, but it still works perfectly. I’ll never sell it. These handhelds are so special to me. They’ve kept me company - and at times were pretty much my only company - for a little more than half my life now, and have so many memories packed in them... it amazes me how old these little wonders are. Sometimes I wish I could go back
I remember going to my gmas house for the summer in Tennessee for 2010 2011 & 2012... I was in 5th-7th grade at the time. I get tears of joy & sadness reading this and listening to this music, reliving old memories that I can't stop dreaming about. My health has been getting bad lately and I just want to come back to the times that were so carefree... It's easy to take those days for granted until you realize the time is gone, and it just genuinely rings me from the inside out, my soul, spirit, whatever. My Mom was there for me all the way, and I can't thank her enough for that. I remember when she got a Wii around Sep 2008 while I was in 4th grade and we all played on that, but now we just have tablets, computers and Chromecasts/Apple TV, and I tell you man, it just isn't the same. I miss the era of when we burned CDs and got physical copies of games, and played on controllers together, that's when we were truly happy. Technology being more scarce is what made it niche and interesting, but now it just isn't the same... I hope people come around and demand we return to this era at some point, because people will be more happy when things are more genuine and appreciated, having that child-like imagination that everyone deep down really craves. Good luck to you & everyone else And please... take care of yourself well -Adam
This is a little short story you can read while you listen if youd like. Its April, im on spring break relaxing playing games. When suddenly my mom said she was going to the store, when she arrived home she came into my room with a box. I had no idea what the box could be or whats inside of it, so i opened it. And there it was, a red 3ds. I grabbed the charger and immediately plugged it in, (since they dont come charged). I go to sleep and wake up the next day, i ran as fast as i could to the living room. It was fully charged and ready to be setup, so i turn it on and get started. I had a little bit of trouble at first but but i quickly learned how to do it. I put in the first game for it i ever got, (which was mario 3d land). I played it for hours and hours, and i still occasionally play it today. Some nights me and my cousins would stay over at our grandmas house and play mario kart and mario party together. This system was more to me than just a game, it was a part of my childhood. Thanks for reading if you made it this far, i know my typing needs work but I tried.
I know this is an old comment now but with the Switch Lite having been announced recently and more or less spelling an end to not only the 3DS line but the whole DS paradigm as a whole I couldn't help but get a bit melancholy at the thought of what has been a similarly large part of my childhood as well. I got the 3DS around when it launched and still have my original red model, having never upgraded to any of the subsequent remodels and effectively moving straight on to the Switch at its launch, but I remember even when my Dad bought the first model of the original DS and, a lot like in your story, playing New Super Mario Bros. for what seemed like endless hours between me and him and all the other games I ended up playing for that system around that age. I also remember playing Mario Party DS later on with my cousins whenever I got to see them and all in all I've got a lot of powerful memories surrounding the DS line from that first pink and grey DS phat to my DS Lite, even a DSi when that seemed like a huge leap for me with its online shop and camera features and, of course, eventually my 3DS and being blown away by the 3D capabilities and the AR stuff that comes pre-installed on it despite that gimmick wearing off pretty fast even then. Never really thought I'd get emotional over a line of handheld gaming consoles but hey, here I am doing just that in the UA-cam comments section of all places. Thanks for the memories, DS family, those years would have been a whole lot less fun without you.
It's seen your first play. It's seen you connect your wifi. It's seen you connect with friends. It's got your steps. You've got your coins. You got your games on the Streetpass. Let's all be honest, the 3DS has got to be one of the best things we had during 2010 to 2020.
This, makes me remember the good times, when my parents were still a couple, when my brothers were little, innocence and love was all around the house, and coming back from school after laughing all day, ignoring the bullies because you were fat, mom calling you to come and eat, and playing 3DS, drawing in miiverse, man, time flies, "wish we could turn back time, to the good old days"
This song really does have that kind of power, to just send you back for a brief moment. Let you reminisce. It's a good feeling, but unfortunately, it also makes you remember that those times have passed, and are long gone now. But I suppose that's just how life goes. Everything comes to pass, so we may as well look back on it all fondly. Hope you're doing well nowadays. :)
I think everything will be alright for those of us who still believe in love and hope! Never give up on yourself or the ones you truly love, and stay safe~
This is so nostalgic, I remember when my brother first got his 3DS, we played The Legend Of Zelda, and Super Mario 3D Land, ahh the nostalgia is real...
Since everyone else is telling their story, here’s mine. (Sorry if it’s a novel) The 3DS came out this year, though it came out several months before I just couldn’t get it because I was a kid and my parents didn’t take me out much. It was my 12th birthday, and at the time was the worst birthday of my life. I woke up sick with a stomach bug and couldn’t go to school. I was really looking forward to it too because at my school some of the teachers would give out candy or treats and stuff to you on your birthday, and school was the only time I got to see my friends ever. Not to mention me feeling physically ill on top of it wasn’t making it any better. I figured I might aswell make the most of this and play video games all day on my birthday. But an hour after the school bus had left my houses power went off. It was a whole block type of thing. So I was upset, bored and on top of it, couldn’t fall asleep. So I spent the majority of my birthday in as much agony as a pretty well off new 12 year old could be in. At around the time school would end my aunt came by to check up on me since both of my parents were working late. And at that time I was feeling a lot better. She offered to take me to Applebees which for a small town in the middle of nowhere was a great thing. And while we were sitting there I asked her if we could go to the GameStop that was nearby. Now for a kid I was f*cling amazing at saving money. Mostly for the fact that I never got out much but still. I had saved up around 250 bucks, which I knew was the price of the 3DS I had wanted for forever now. A DS that could play games in 3D! She offered to take me because it was my birthday and we went and I had just barely not enough for the system. I was so upset but my aunt offered to cover the 20 or so dollars that I was missing and I was ecstatic. I remember sitting at my aunts house, waiting for my parents to come and pick me up. Charging it up at the wall just playing face invaders and making miis, since the only DS game I thought to bring with me was Plants Vs Zombies for DS. That 3DS was my longest lived console and lasted up until 2019 with constantly playing Pokémon, Fire Emblem, Animal Crossing and more. And though it started as to my little new 12 year old self as the worst birthday ever. I now see it as one of my best. 😊
@@jarebear_99 I still have it. But something happened to the battery where it expanded or something and the back almost fell off and it would only keep charge for a couple minutes after being off charge. But now I have a new 3DS xl and it’s nice but doesn’t have the same nostalgia as the original
@@Darenz-cg9zg Well I don’t really plan on using it again due to me having a new 3DS XL now but thank you for the tip so if I ever did want to use it I wouldn’t accidently explode
god, seeing that 3D effect for the first time completely blew me away. it's a shame that it never caught on, but for a fleeting moment it felt like i was holding the future of gaming right in front of my face
Time sure flies by, doesnt it? The arcade bunny sits in the soon closing badge arcade, crying, yet smiling that he had a good run. The plaza salesbunnies pack up what they offered from times past, and wait for a new time to pop up. Nikki closes her notebook and keeps it as a token of good memories. The miis in the island still live their lives, one day hoping to see the look alike they love so much. The faces float around in their little area, just wanting to have fun again. Rusty, his wife and litter, now grown up, work at the cafe and things have never been better. The boys have even started playing baseball on their own time. Isabelle has been doing her best to keep your town in tip top shape. All the coins gathered have started to collect dust. And the Eshop bag has finally been put to rest. Although old, we'll still never forget you, and the memories we made together. 3DS 2011-2023
Here is my story: In 2014, I got the flame red original 3ds. I then impatiently setup my 3ds with New Super Mario Bros. 2 and listened to the home menu music for 5 minutes. I thought there wasn't any battery limit on the 3ds (Stupid me, every device or computer have a battery) Around that time is where I board a plane to china and played on there for 5 hours for the flight, but then, as we were boarding off the plane, my 3ds then died in the 8th hour. I had a charger port, but the charger ports in china are completely different than the ones i use at home. After a few days, we went back to the plane to board home, around this point, i stopped caring about the 3ds. Until when 7th grade comes around (2016 - 2017) I was in a after school program and it seems that every friday we would play super smash bros on wii (Or wii u). That sparked my 3ds interest again but this time, I wasn't going to be on stock firmware, 11.3 or something. I was going to CFW it. The only problem was i was on 11.3 but around this point, i started to get into it. I then purchased smash bros for my 3ds. And, around late 2017, I successfully softmodded cfwed my 3ds. 3ds approaching the end of its life (2017-2018) I then formatted my 3ds, but my cfw is safe. Around 2018 april, I removed CFW and got it again (this time on 11.6), around the end of may, I accidentally put water in the cartridge slot (Stupid me) and Now, my 3ds is laid to rest. 2018 and Beyond: I got my New Nintendo 2ds xl (I modded that too lol) and I have smash and the save data inside it with a 64 gb card. I am gonna keep it safe this time lol Edit: I Finally got my New 2ds xL and Been Rocking with CFW on 11.8 Edit #2: Wow, so many current events are happening, covid-19, mass shootings, the 2020 elections. I've been keeping my 2ds xl and the switch to distract myself from the real world and it's events. RIP Original 3ds; (2014 - 2018)
i bought my original flame red 3DS in 2011, and successfully homebrewed it last year, 2011-present still going strong that has created so many memories for me
Holy cow this takes me back This song here just reminded me that the 3DS got me my first girlfriend. I literally got one just because the girl I liked had one, and I wanted to play with her Next thing I knew, we spent every day playing games on the 3DS together. ...I really want to go back to those times.
On the Internet, I hear a lot of 90s and 2000s kids talk about how much they miss the days when the Gameboy, N64, Wii, and DS were still thriving, and as a 2010s kid (Now a 2020s teen) who finds the 3DS nostalgic, I can also relate.
Oh my...! Someone finally recorded it! I've been searching for this piece since I got my 3DS back in 2012,it's so calming....Thank you so much! You're amazing!
I remember my dad buying me a red 2DS back in 2013, played it for hours on end discovering all the new game franchises that I play more of today, I love my dad dude, and if it weren't for him I wouldn't have gotten to play so many games and meet new people by playing with them. Love you dad.
God. This brings back memories of such a good day. Getting a 3DS and hearing this in the car after opening it and setting it up on the way home from the store. If only life could be that simple again.
Good times man, when i got my first 3ds/2ds i was picking one at gamestop, after we bought it i was eager to use it as i dint know how it worked in my car i was just waiting to go to my house to start it,first game i got as the New Super Mario Bro's 2,i loved the game, sad that they discontinued the 3ds and the 2ds,they were such great consoles to play on,when i was bored id go to the instruction manual on the 3ds/2ds and read the entirety of it (Did anyone else do this?) but after a year or so i lost my 2ds and still trying to find it to this day as its lost in my house.Nintendo should bring back most of the old consoles as a sale for 6-8 months as to celebrate their consoles.
I really miss the old nintendo handheld console music, being a kid and hearing this, it gave me goosebumps, and still does to this day. truly beautiful. i'll forever miss the early 2010's.
This makes me want to cry because it seems as though somethings missing, and the song knows it's going to end and fade away forever, and it's accepting of it
This makes me cry. I first time got a 3DS bundle pack in 2011. It came with a case, headphones, black 3DS, and a charger. I also got a couple of games too. Take me back where I belong already. 2021 sucks! 😭
@@khalidali8193 i can promise you it'll get better. just hang on for a bit. i was in a dangerously bad place and it got better. trust me if it can get better for me it can get better for anyone
@@Arkensius1157 3ds was my first ever console I had to myself. I think I got nsmb2 as my first game. But I fell in love with Mario 3d land, I must've had over 300 hours in that game Edit: I completely forgot the Nintendo DS was my first console, oops. But still lol I love the 3DS
It's 2012, Christmas day. I open a final box last to find a 3DS XL with a blue finish. As soon as I was done cleaning the wrapping paper, I turned it on. After that fateful day, I played a bunch of franchises that I've come to love now, like Star Fox, Animal Crossing, and Tomodachi Life. The feels are strong with this one.
nintendo really made some of the greatest ambient tracks for their consoles in the past. wish they still did, there's something so special about the memories associated with the music of the console.
June 11 2011 pretty much changed my life. My 3ds is the console that set me toward nintendo all the way. Up until then i played the wii a bit but it was all about my xbox and PS2. I dont know what happened with my 3ds, but its made me a nintendo fanboy ever since. This music takes me back so much and bless you for uploading it. I dont know how to describe the feelings the com up when i hear this.
One day after going to school, I have my 3DS to my mom, so she would leave it in my room. But then, she went to work with my 3DS on the top of her car and forgot to put it in her car. It broke, I cried for 10 minutes. A month later, she bought me a new 3ds xl black, I still have it with home brew installed and I played Kirby super star ultra for hours.
@@superman2957 pretty sure they meant mods. I personally don't know how to mod a 3DS but I'm sure a google search would be pretty good in finding out how ^^
@@superman2957 Homebrewing a 3DS allows it to run a Custom Firmware, which in turn allows you to run custom user-created apps, games, and tools directly on your 3DS. It's mainly done in order to pirate games, which is super controversial, but I could care less lmao.
Since everyone has their own story about the 3DS I just wanted to share mine I got my 3ds when i was 7-9 years old (hard to remember since I have terrible memory). It was my birthday and it was at my grandma's place. My mom pulls out a strange shaped box and I was confused, I proceed to open it just to see a red 3DS XL. I played that baby till I got my first decent pc and I decided to buy a new game today to relive the memories and I'm so happy I did. Thank you Nintendo for making the greatest handheld console of all time. :)
I love how the Nintendo 3DS setup's music evokes that sort of "relax, we have you feeling" like you can pick me up at any time and I'll be waiting, love the synths they used for this song.
After being discontinued with it's final update. Having your 3ds/2ds is easier to get it into CFW/luma3ds. But wonderful memories for this masterpiece music.
I got mine on Christmas Day 2011 as well. Mine was the red one though, which I still have to this day (unfortunately I didn't take the greatest care of it, but that just gives it some extra charm in my eyes).
It was fun while the online service lasted. I will never forget the special events that also happened years ago. It was truly a special moment in its life cycle. So long, 3DS...
Welp, the connection is gone forever. It was on Mario Kart 7 for me. It went black around the end of the race during a Bowser Castle 1 race, and showed the "a communication error has occurred" error. It booted me out, and when I went back in, it said there was a "temporary" communication error, as if the connection would ever come back. I know Pretendo exists, but it will never, ever be the same... I was gifted a blue 2DS with Mario Kart 7 preinstalled when I was maybe 6 or 7. I was gifted it by someone who I cared deeply for, who died the following year. I still keep that DS preserved because of that. I won't ever forget the memories I had on this thing and the Wii U. When that German guy named Charles who helped me get VR in MK7 (Thanks Charile!), my dad giving me little facts about the characters as he watched me play Mario games, all those horribly cringey pictures and sounds I made on the photo and sound studios, when I'd go to my friend's house and keep rewinding the Mario Kart 8 replays despite his wishes, when i accidentally deleted my 100% complete file on Yoshi's Woolly World, when I bricked my 2DS and had to get it fixed by someone which apparently lead to someone getting fired as a result...? ...Ok, maybe some of those weren't the best memories, but they stuck with me and will stick with me probably for life. Also I know half of the things I mentioned can still be done since they aren't online, but the online isn't really the point. The point is the landscape shifted, and Nintendo has moved on in a way that... won't be remembered. Think about it. The 3DS and Wii U both had nice menus with calming tunes in the background. This also goes for the Wii and DS too. Heck, even the button presses made such serenity with their sounds, and the cute, nostalgic animations that would play when you hovered over a game were also a really nice touch. It made me feel... Comfy. Warm inside. The Switch only has little clicks and png's for what game you're playing. No personality whatsoever. My point is, it shows that Nintendo doesn't care, or at the very least is moving on from the Wii esc era, for a more modern feel. A more corporate feel, more like. I know I'm kinda rambling on, but I really had to get this out. I know this was going to happen, and I've prepared myself since January, but god, it still hurts. It would hurt either way. With PS3 games closing their servers , and Xbox 360 closing it's doors, I don't know what to think. I guess after nearly 20 years, the era of personality in video game systems is kind of over. It was bound to happen, and I understand financially why it would be done, but it still hurts. I'm starting to repeat myself now, so I think I'll end here. It's been exactly an hour and a half since my last Mario Kart match, and though I don't really want to admit it, I'm kind of crying still. Making this comment helped though. I guess all I can say anymore is thank you, Nintendo. Thank you spesifically to Mr. Iwata. It's unfortunate your legacy has been left behind in a certain way. I don't really expect anyone to read this, I only did this to get this off my chest, but if you did read this, thanks. I hope you can accept the systems death rather than bawling your eyes out like me right now, lol.
Yep, it's exactly what you said: the soul of gaming has been replaced with corporate greed (and also wokeness). These kinds of things are just the surface, they point to a much bigger problem that nobody wants to talk about: the decline of the West (this includes Japan). When everyone stops caring about the things that matter or makes life worth living and all they do is worship money, it's the sign of a dying society.
This system defined my teenage years, ever since i got it i couldnt stop playing it. Beign a teenage with aspergers isn't easy, but this system helpes me with my loneliness and when i got friends in high school i showed them my 3DS. I remember meeting people in school who also had a 3DS, it was a great experience all around. All the games i played are are still on my shelves. Dark Moon, Smash 3DS, Pokemon ORAS, A Link Between Worlds, Kirby Triple Deluxe, Kingdom Hearts DDD. Due to quarantine i decided to play with it a little more for old times sake. I may now be a Switch Player, but the 3DS will always be in my heart.
This is my story (Edit: wow, I didn't expect this much attention... thanks) In 2013, I had just gotten a 3DS for my Birthday, and I opened it up, I was extremely bad with technology at the time, and I didn’t get past the setup for about a week (I know, STUPID) but every time I was bored, I would open my 3DS and listen to this, then, in early 2017, I accidentally dropped my 3DS in water, and I broke, I cried for 30 minutes straight, so for my 2017 birthday, I got a New 3DS XL, still have it to this day. I’ll keep it in as best condition as possible so I can show it to my kids one day and say “THIS is what portable gaming used to look like when I was your age!”

Vicki, my dearest cousin, if you see this, thank you for all the fun memories you gave me. Thank you for fixing my 3ds when it broke. Thank you for giving me your 3ds when mine was beyond repair. Thank you for all your love and support. I hope we can visit each other soon. I miss you. Edit. My cousin isn't dead. We just live far away from each other
My older sister, my younger brother and me. The first to see the 3ds emerge and become nostalgic in our lives. Then others started popping up, our cousins who played with us apart, grown up. We can't turn back time, but the memories are safe here in our hearts. Blessed be God for this wonderful creation that opened our eyes, made life awesome. Thank you, Sir, and Nintendo.
Time passes, yes, but there's an infinite amount of it in front of us. What's incredible is that years in the future, you will be nostalgic for things *today,* even if things might seem rough. Make sure you always understand that one day, you'll look back on today like how you look back on your early teenaged years with your 3ds, then you'll truly be living in the moment
This is what I love about Nintendo. I only got my 3DS 2 years ago, didn't really pay attention to the setup music and I never really listened to the system settings music, but this music makes me feel nostalgic and at ease anyways. I love this theme so much.
farewell, 3ds and wii u. i had many memories with you two. especially with mario kart 7 and 8, animal crossing new leaf, super mario 3d land, and especially tomodachi life and super mario maker. even though i have a working 3ds, i'll still miss my original 2ds and wii u to this day.
2012 march, 20th I opened the box for the first time. 2023, feeling regret for not doing something to make my childhood slower. You can't hold onto the past but Im learning to embrace it instead of yearn for it. For anyone out there, Just remember that. Embrace your past, You can't go back. But you CAN look back on it with happiness instead of yearning for those days again.
I remember when I bought my 3DS the day after it first launched. It was the first system I ever bought with my own money. 6 years later and it's still running like a champ! Although now I have the New 3DS XL, but I still use my old 3DS occassionally.
I can't express how nostaglic it made me to listen to this and think about all the memories I have with my 3DS XL. Maybe I will come back here with the strength to tell you all my story. Thank you. I'm crying.
My cousin Vicki gave me her 3ds when mine was beyond repair. I will never forget how happy I was on that day. She recently got a 2ds btw. Vicki also managed to repair my 3ds once. (It was before it completely broke) my screen was cracked and she fixed it right up for me. I love my cousin so much.
This song is special man. It allowed me and one of my friends to have a geniunely authentic and wholesome conversation about our childhoods, to laugh - to look past the negativity of our pasts to find the shared joy we found in gaming. I'll always remember that.
Damn, it's been 6 years since I've heard this. I still can't believe it's been that long since I bought my New 3ds xl with majors mask. I remember setting it up in my room late one night and hearing this song. For some reason this track/song really stuck out to me, and I just sat there in bed listening to it for 15-30 minutes.
Utterly surreal... Nostalgic, lonely, hopeful, ethereal, a mark of something not yet fully realized, timeless. There's something more at work in these vibes than even Nintendo can fully understand. These hardly describable feelings we share with these sounds is... a shadow of what awaits. We are meant to share worlds together. God speaks even by such means as this. Nothing is ever truly lost when everything is gained in Him. One day, these feelings will find their true origin in His plan beyond. Sorry to get so deep, but also not sorry!
This song just makes me want to tear up. The first thing I heared after getting my 3ds on Christmas of 2011. Mine broke in 2014. I still have the original 3ds with me and it stays with me beside my computer. I'm planning on fixing it soon. And honestly, this does sound like something you hear after you realise that your childhood fades away everyday. We all took it for granted and now, we forget our childhood memories with each passing day.
It's unfortunate just how right you are. I wish I could've savored childhood a little longer, because I'll be 18 soon, and I'll have to start life as an adult. I've still got my original system as well, sitting right next to me as we speak. Christmas 2011 was such a magical day for so many of us, it seems, as a lot of us got our 3DS systems on that day. Can you believe it's been nearly 10 years already? I know I can't.
my pov: its 2 am, you are finally on summer break from all the tests and school in its entirety, you are laying in bed not knowing wat to do with your future and just hang from your window, wich is open, you feel a cold breez going through your hair and you are relaxed, you put on this music and you wait for sunrise and you only hear the nostalgic sounds and wind you are at peace and nothing can change that. Tomorrow you are buying a new 3ds for nostalgia and because switch sucks as a handheld you can play mario kart 7 again and mario bro's 2 after it broke you decide to go to sleep 2 hours later hoping for a great time with your nephew who is staying for the week who is also bringing his 3 ds. You can battle like the past and without anything to worry about.
It has touched me and many others. The 3DS will always be an incredible experience in my eyes. Even if you haven't had those memories and you just got a 3DS recently, there always is that feeling that someone out there somewhere enjoyed this incredible handheld.

It's so...heavenly.
Did Nintendo *know* this'll be nostalgic or something??
yes
they absolutely knew
It is rather heavenly... It is also rather scary, because usually 3DS music is upbeat, but without the extra instruments it, this sounds out of place. Kinda like Déjà vu. It is rather nostalgic, I'll say that's for sure.
@@Kirbydogs9i think it’s also because this is a sort of remix of the dsi menu music. so it’s different than the rest of the 3ds’ music
@@xnlv I guess, it's like if they combined DSI music and the settings music.

This makes me wan't to cry when this is really the settings theme with a missing melody. This is good and sad.
Yeah definitely a good sad.

Sometimes I wish I could go back
It really is amazing how important these little things are to so many of our lives, isn't it?
Good luck to you & everyone else
And please... take care of yourself well

I remember every summer hanging with the same bud playing mario kart and bros for hours, sad it broke
Damn Tears in my eyes😥
I know how it feels
Nice story, Hank.

Ahhh the nostalgia is real........ I miss those good days
Since everyone else is telling their story, here’s mine. (Sorry if it’s a novel)
The 3DS came out this year, though it came out several months before I just couldn’t get it because I was a kid and my parents didn’t take me out much.

I thought there wasn't any battery limit on the 3ds (Stupid me, every device or computer have a battery) Around that time is where I board a plane to china and played on there for 5 hours for the flight, but then, as we were boarding off the plane, my 3ds then died in the 8th hour. The only problem was i was on 11.3 but around this point, i started to get into it. I then purchased smash bros for my 3ds. And, around late 2017, I successfully softmodded cfwed my 3ds.
3ds approaching the end of its life (2017-2018)
I then formatted my 3ds, but my cfw is safe. Around 2018 april, I removed CFW and got it again (this time on 11.6), around the end of may, I accidentally put water in the cartridge slot (Stupid me) and Now, my 3ds is laid to rest.

Discontinued, but forever in our hearts.
Christmas Day, 2011 Ice White.
I hope you can accept the systems death rather than bawling your eyes out like me right now, lol.
don’t worry man, I read the whole thing
I have the same model as you. I loved my 2DS, it was one of my most prized possessions
"Was it worth it?"
...
"Yeah."
Now that i modded my 3ds. Im finally giving it the time it deserves.
This is my story
(Edit: wow, I didn't expect this much attention... thanks)
In 2013, I had just gotten a 3DS for my Birthday, and I opened it up, I was extremely bad with technology at the time, and I didn’t get past the setup for about a week (I know, STUPID) but every time I was bored, I would open my 3DS and listen to this, then, in early 2017, I accidentally dropped my 3DS in water, and I broke, I cried for 30 minutes straight, so for my 2017 birthday, I got a New 3DS XL, still have it to this day. I’ll keep it in as best condition as possible so I can show it to my kids one day and say “THIS is what portable gaming used to look like when I was your age!”
