Another fantastic video Philip! You have become my go to resource for everything music production :) I think what really sets you apart from other channels is how well you explain each step of your process. It has helped me think more critically about my decisions, and as a result have seen drastic improvements in both the quality of my work and my productivity.
Mega gut! Danke für die Tipps. Ich hab zwar überhaupt keine Ahnung von DAWs aber ich werd mal versuchen diese Art von Rumble Kick mit meinem Volca Sample nach zu bauen :D
Hello, great video once again. How about a video on making a dark atmospheric drone sound? One that evolves and moves and acts as a 'bed' for the other main elements?
thank you for the tips, really efficient and clear the way you explain things. The most complicate things in your video is to get this first kick ahaha
Hey Philip! First of all, thank you for the amazing videos, you are definitely helping me to achieve the sound that I want to. I'm seeing a lot of results thanks to your tutorials! That being said, what reverbs outside of hybrid Reverb from ableton do you think are good for making a rumble? Just a curiosity! Thank you again, and sorry for any mistakes in my english! Keep it up, cheers from Brazil!!
Cool Guide, thanks. Interesting point about the phase cancellation, I wonder if a pitch change device at the start of the rumble chain set to a small value would negate this issue 🤔 BTW you have a slight high pitched whine on your vocal on this video, maybe a noisy computer or something?
A small value might just introduce so-called comb-filtering. But hey, that stuff can also sound cool so it’s always worth a try! Thanks for the feedback on the vocal. Not sure what it might be but I’ll try to find out so it doesn’t happen again!
Great video. I tried to do the first example, but never available to me the option to get the signal on the rumble channel from the kick! How can I sorted it?
Damn, hard to know where exactly your problem comes from. Another option would be to simply import the kick sample on a new audio track and then reverse it.
Strange… check out section 15.5 here and follow step by step. Alternatively you can test the resampling option (also explained here): www.ableton.com/en/manual/routing-and-i-o/
Hello sir, I wondered if you experimented with the free max for life instrument 'tree synth' to create a rumbly bass. This instrument has so many harmonies in one sound and you could obviously shape them and side-chain the shaper to the kick. Let me know if you give it a try as I am curious to see the results!
Ahhh nice, no I haven’t tried that one yet but I’m definitely curious to try it out! If I come across any interesting results, I’ll share them on the channel!
@@sac5608 I dont think thats true. Please correct me if I am wrong. If the rumble doesnt have a key, it means you could create the upper synths for your leads in any key and it fit in the track But I don't think that is the case right? Unless you are saying that you have to select the key of kick first and the reverb for the rumble will then follow the key then it makes sense. take for example the song DAJE by t78. The rumble must match the key of the vocals no?
@@mohammadalif3650 yeah you are mostly right but the key should be the fundamental harmonic, since you cant find it there isnt a key. there's a famous saying techno doesn't have to be in key. just do what sound right to your ears. if you have to be particular don't use rumble bass and you can follow keys and scales.

You are very good. Always super useful info. And not too long vids. Thank you, Sir!
Thank you a lot for this, master.
I think this will help make my kicks sound darker and still pack a mean punch! Thank you!

I’m deeply grateful for your comment. These kinds of results are why I’m doing this!
Thanks for this
Thank you so much! Im learning alot
Great tips. Danke. ❤
You’re more than welcome ❤💯
Спасибо, очень полезное видео, я узнал для себя много нового
Great, thank you!

Glad you like it! 💯

Thanks! :) have you seen this one already? Covers exactly that: ua-cam.com/video/tVRJxl-nmNc/v-deo.html
@@pickyourselfofficial nice! Thanks 🙏

Use Kick2
could you make a video about how to use compressors and how to give different utilities in the mix?
Absolutely, it’s in my list

Thanks, that means a lot! Generally all reverbs that provide texture. Soundtoys Superplate is great but also the creative Valhalla reverbs are nice.
@@pickyourselfofficial thank you!

My problem is to link the channels. When I click on the new channel to get the signal from the kick doesn’t show me the option to press kick.

@@pickyourselfofficial I think it's called 'tree tones' in the 'inspired by nature' free pack. You may just love it!
@@ForTheForsaken Awesome, thanks for the recommendation! I think I’ve come across it already at some point but haven’t tried it out then.
Why do we have to reverse the kick sample? And not add a reverb on the un-reversed version of it?
this video but in FL maybe ?
How do you pitch your rumble in key to your song?
you dont in techno keys dont matter
