I stopped doing music since 2017 because I had to focus on my companies and other projetcts, but man you make it looks so easy that I want to go back to it !
@MYST Whenever you create your kicks, how or when do you know the key signature of the kick? Do you find it at the end, mid through or in the beginning of creating a kick?
Good question! In this example, I focus on the key signature of the kick's punch. The tail, which is essentially the reverb, is a distillation of the punch but typically lacks a tonal center. Because of this, you can often use the kick from my tutorial in as many keys as you want and just go on what you hear. If the tail is tonal and has a distinct pitch, you can use a tuner plugin to identify its key. For example, if you're using Serum to create the tail, its key will be evident if it’s in the default tuning. Hope this helps!
If you dont have kick2 you cant make a kick like in the video... the presenter starts off with that we will make these kicks with free plugins the quickly backtracks to easy to get plugins... then proceeds with kick2 which is a commercial plugin anyway..why not just make the video title honest and say "how to make hard kicks with sonic academy kick2" or at least offer a few raw starting kicks so that we could follow along with your processing and shaping?
In my opinion, Kick2 is not expensive. You can use any type of clean punch, such as samples. The rest of the elements are all part of FL Studio. That said, the main focus of this video is the technique I demonstrate.
@MYSTNL I understand, thank you very much for taking the time and effort to do this tutorial, it is very informative and i will look for kicks that i think that i can follow along with.
