It’s been seven years since Linkin Park released new music, after the tragic loss of Chester Bennington.
Most fans, like myself, considered the band to be long gone. How could they come back from that?
Well, to my surprise, they’re back.

It's unfortunate because one of the charms of LP is they were always a unit. You can't replace any of the members. Regardless I will respect Rob's decision. He always held his own and never got lost in the mix.
I’ve been a likin park since the first album I’m glad to see them back but I miss Chester im in it still
Awesome to hear how much they mean to you, and you can tell it’s a LOT! I remember playing Meteora on absolute REPEAT back in ‘03. Still slaps too. I just checked out the stream and enjoyed her for the most part, feels like a solid evolution.
Funny enough I actually have always been curious to see Jeremy McKinnon from ADTR do a bit more with them after I thought he crushed A Place for my Head during the tribute event.
Man, this band means the world to me. I am scared, but I’m optimistic too.
Bummer. I thought it was going to be Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees.

Been a die-hard LP fan since the 90's and never got to hear them in person, so this is a dream come true. Yes, Chester will forever be the man, but we've mourned for years, and I think it's good to move on eventually. This is the new era of LP and I'm insanely excited to see how it plays out.

Good points brother. I have loved the band since 2000. The death of Chester in 2017 hit me very hard. There is no one like him. That being said, I think them waiting over seven years to try to start a new era for the band with a new singer in Emily Armstrong is commendable. They took their time. It’s not like he passed two months ago. Going on a decade and I am fine with them playing older songs too. It was a band. All the elements contributed to its success. I am willing to give this new iteration of Linkin Park a chance.
to me, them playing mostly old stuff was just to prove that emily is legit. if they had just announced it in a press release there would be a lot of doubts, but her keeping up with them live shows how good she can be as a new lead
Oh I agree. It was necessary to introduce her. I just hope she allows herself to be herself and make a new stamp on their legacy

I for one feel in different about the new singer. She sounds like every other female alt rock singer.
Also where rob bourdon?? The Sara drummer looks like he's replacing him.

Transformers (2007) was my introduction to Linkin Park.

As someone who saw them live back in 2014, im mixed on this. On one hand, I liked the song, im happy theyre back and Emily is great, but at the same time, i feel there was a chemistry and synergy between the original 6 memebers that i dont think will ever be replicated. Linkin Park is one of the few bands that stuck together and had no lineup changes during their tenure (not counting Zero or HT), to the point where Rob And Chester's abscence is felt. There was just something about seeing those 6 guys live that wont ever be replicated. Im still excited for the new album and singer, but still have mixed feelings because i got to see the classic lineup live back in 2014
The problem is while Mike was the spine of that band, you listen to those lyrics it became the very fabric of what Chester was going through, and you see how Chester performs, the LP experience with Chester live was the ticket price alone, Chester was so good it did completely overshadow the rest of them that’s just how good Chester was. So when someone new is singing those classic LP songs it’s not from the heart, because that can only come from Chester himself, but like you said his relatability factor with mental health in a way became the very identity of the band itself. Would I see them live? Or listen to the new stuff? I wouldn’t really tune in that much just because the LP experience with Chester singing those songs he was too damn good. I just don’t think it works having someone else sing their greatest hits because it comes from the heart and soul on what he was going through, you can sing the songs, but to be insinc with his mental health it’s why I don’t find it as organic or does it work for me
I love linkin park, been a fan since 2000 , meteora came out on my birthday and is still my favorite linkin park album, Chester was one of the best leaders of a rock band in the genre, I loved the way he sang , every song he made you feel his pain thru his vocals , I think naturally mike should be the new front man for the band , I think Chester would have wanted it that way so I don't understand why they feel a female lead is best for the group? I have never heard any music from her at all but I will still support the band and listen to the new album when it drops but it feels very weird to be a longtime fan and have this surprise come out all of a sudden!
Lp is one of my favorite bands and I will forever love Chester and wish I got to see them live with him. But I enjoy Emily in the band. The new song is good and she did really well with the old stuff. A part of me thought lp was done but I’m happy they continued. Can’t wait to hear the new album. Also I agree with one more light it might be top 3 lp album for me

I just wanted to see LP keep making music. Yes no one can replace Chester. But this will just will just be another LP Chapter and she can sing! But much better then the Sum41 guy come on. Looking forward to new album. 🤘

i feel you man, Linkin Park have always been my favourite band of all time too. Chester was one of my biggest idols ever and his passing is the one celebrity death that absolutely DESTROYED me.. after all the people he saved through his music, we couldn't save him.. i'm never gonna get over that. i'm an only child so hearing his music (be it Linkin Park, Grey Daze or Dead By Sunrise) always felt like having an older brother guiding me through life, through all the depression, anxiety, alcoholism, etc.
really hope people will give Emily a chance. obviously it will never be the same again, but Chester would've wanted them to continue. we can only hope he's found the peace he was longing to find. we miss you, Chester 🖤
Chester will forever be one of my biggest inspirations, and I think the band can honor him for years to come ❤

This video Nick, this video was everything I felt. Linkin Park is my number one band and always has been. Chester Bennington was phenomenal doing live shows. I used to watch it live on TV after high school and they played live in Nottingham it was an insane performance by all the band members. When I watch SAW 3D I love seeing Chester Bennington cuz it means so much to me. I like the new single by Linkin Park and the new co lead singer is really good. She has that intense vocal range when she was singing ‘Numb’ I got goosebumps. I look forward to the new album November 15th and much like you said this will be on my mind a lot. Today is a huge deal for Linkin Park fans.
It truly is a big deal, and I’m very excited to have them back, and I hope they have all the success in the world going forward

OMG... Man, I will be honest: I'm not subscribed to you, but my husband is. He isn't a fan of LP, but I am. I saw the title of your video in the feed today and wow... First off, thank you for posting. I feel a lot like you about LP and the band got me through some pretty epic shit. I watched a few of the videos... I was in tears, I know nothing of this new singer, but she is a true LP fan, that's coming through loud and clear. But more than that, I think she has the same energy as Chester. To me, this feels like when Adam Lambert joined Queen. Lambert isn't Freddy, but he has the voice, and he has an energy that matched Freddy's. I feel the same about Emily. She has the voice, and man she HAS Chester's energy. I'm going to differ with you on the old songs though. I watched her and Mike sings 'InThe End', and it was like hearing LP for the first time all over again, and getting that glimmer of connection with the music all over again. You have made my day, and quite possibly my year. Please post more about LP. Thank you!
