And is so flippy. Seer is also somewhat flippy. Westside seems to never get much love on this channel. But in the real world so manynpeople throw westside. I find it super weird no one talks about it, but so many people bag it
I'll add to the trend of suggesting some discs that weren't included. Kastaplast Stig Axiom Virus/MVP Impulse Kastaplast Falk I still loved the video, though!
Thanks for another informative video! I’ve been waiting for this topic since I throw mostly unstable discs. I also appreciated the comments about throwing roller shots. Very helpful! I’m sure that my technique needs work, but I had not considered (at least, not enough) the conditions of the course as a factor in roller success. I will from now on!
I throw Latitude 64 rivers as my understable/Hyzerflip fairway driver. I have a 154 g Opto air that I use to hit gaps and Hyzerflip lines in the woods with low power, and a 169g goldICE for shots that need to finish right. I love the axiom trance, but as a reliably straight disc that fades. Flies like a -1,2 or -.5,2 for me.
Thanks for the time and effort spent on this one! Cheers to a healthy elbow? I have become a big fan of the Rhythm lately. It’s currently in battle with my Maul. Hope to see some fission plastic soon on the channel.
I've been embracing understable drivers as well and it's improved my game! My choice for a fairway is currently a Vortex it's around max weight. Love your videos man, thank you! Hope you had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
You should make a poll to see peoples furthest rolling drivers. Then make a video on the top results with Caleb and see how crazy it can get, should def surpass 500 ft
Noodle arm here - I get the same flight path from the Trance that you do (probably shorter distance, though). Very enjoyable video - thanks for creating!
My favorite understable fairway drivers in no particular order: Underworld, Maul and Jackalope. They are reliably understable but have consistent flights. My experience with Roadrunners and Hatchets matched yours; the Falk also gave me that same flight. I tried three Heats before I gave up on them; terrific distance, but very sensitive imo.
Thank you so much for another awesome video. I hope your arm is ok. I can't throw as far as you, but still appreciate your efforts as your closer to my arm speed than Caleb. Your videos are the most helpful for me when researching new discs as I'm mostly looking for a flight shape that's missing from my bag. In this case, the understable discs are a big help considering I'm not good at throwing anhizers and my sidearm isn't quite up to snuff yet. Thanks again.
Greg, this is awesome content. Thanks for taking the time to film. My question is whether you have ever measured your arm speed? You keep saying you have a slow arm, but I'd give anything to have those mid-300' drives you put out there. Have you ever measured your speed?
Great, this was a great, and relatively comprehensive, set of discs. Thanks so much for taking the time to do this. My arm is just a little weaker than yours. The three understable fairways in my bag are the VIP Air Hatchet, the Star Leopard3, and the 400 F9. I also have a 300 F7, a Star Roadrunner, and a Active Baseline Genius that I bring along when I'm doing practice with US fairways. I guess the Leopard could have been included since once you went down to 6-speed. I have a GStar Leopard.
I would love to see a comparison video of all plastics for innova roadrunner. The vary widely and I love them for lots off different slots for noodle arms like me.
That would be a great video! Same with the Mamba and Sidewinder. Stabilty varies so much with the plastic. Looks like their flight numbers are only based on the DX.
I have star, champion & halo star. Also had the gstar until it decided to hide somewhere in a grassy embankment. They do fly very similar. The halo will have a bit more resistance to turn.
Viking Cosmos in Armor, Discraft Heat in Big Z, Cicada in Z, Discmania Neo Essence... all great discs, the Big Z heat I have seems a bit extra stable, pushed all of these to +340' on various hyzer angles, great discs.
Latitude 64 Diamond in gold orbit plastic 156g is my favorite fairway driver ever since I first threw it 4yrs ago when I started playing. My wife’s favorite driver as well
Having a noodle arm myself, this is the perfect video to watch 😛 Right now I bag a MVP Signal, a TSA Nuance und the Streamline Shift. In the shelf there is a Innova Leopard3, A Latutitude Diamond, Prodigy F7 and F9 and 3 Latitude Jade. Too many nice discs to chosse from...
I bag the Drift and like it for it's versatility. Great hyzer-flip disc. Sneaky long, around the distance you threw them. Throwing them with a flat release with some power on a lower line makes them fly more understable. They will fight back more on a higher line. Great disc!
Great content. I am always curious (yet 100% impractical to test) how these all fly once beat in. Maybe putting a few of the more OS ones through the dryer trick 😂
Great video and a wonderful Boxing Day surprise. Lots to mention: I have been throwing the Løft Discs Titanium a fair amount recently. I don’t throw many understable discs, but I love the flight of this. Trash Panda plastic- I am a staunch supporter of the company’s raison d’être and have all of their discs. I was a bit underwhelmed with the first run of Inner Core’s but love the flight. I had an Ozone in my bag for about 2 weeks and loved it, but then it went missing. (Maybe someone else liked it too). In terms of the plastic for the Ozone, i don’t mind it at all. Westside love - I know you were looking at discs you had in stock, and I was hoping for a sighting of the Hatchet. I had two this summer that flew incredibly straight for me. Lost them both within a few weeks of one another. Loved that mold and hope to replace it one day. I’m not a huge fan of the Underworld by Westside, but am interested in watching someone else throw the Seer. I think its numbers are 7/5/-2/1. I don’t think it flies for me like the Brave or the Titanium, so it is in and out of my bag depending on my mood. Thanks for the content.
Westside Seer and Mint Freetail are my go to US fairway drivers. I'm older, shorter, and arguably less athletic than you, so for me the Jade and the Hatchet and Stag (both in 150 weights) are my go to stable fairways. I am so glad to see you test discs of this sort.
12:35 Yup, that's how I lost 2 Opto Diamonds including a 170g one which was so good and it sucked to loose it :/ If you're not careful they go so far right, that they leave the field you practice on. Truly exceptional disc, such an advantage on hard left to right holes.
My favorite flippy fairway is the Mantra from TSA. Incredible disc and I've got a domey one that flips effortlessly and a board flat one that stays straight and reliably fades out.
Going to add to some more discs I wish were included: You mentioned them, but the streamline ascend, mvp relay, and mvp signal. The fission rhythm is often notably different than the neutron, though I’ve heard both ways, it seems like the neutron can be fairly inconsistent. Maybe showing more than one next time?
Love the star halo sidewinder - stable as a thunderbird 🤣. champion sidewinders and champion roadrunner. The Hatchett is in my bag too... beat in it's a great turnover disc
I noticed that the how high or low you throw the discs change its flight path and distance. Ex.you threw the Diamond with more height than you did with the Vortex. The diamond stayed in the air longer and went further than the Vortex
I highly recommend trying the latest run of the Ozone. They’re more grippy than the first run, and they don’t beat in as quickly. I just hit my first ace with mine :) 21:04
I currently bag a Toxic Waste and a Biohazard Blackout, they both take care of my overstable and under stable fairway driver slots respectively, really like the Biohazard for big hyzer shots in the wind
The Heat is a funny disc. I have two Cryztal sparkle Heat because I love them. They are less domey than other runs, and the plastic itself seems to be more overstable. They don’t even beat in to a stock esp Heat level of turn.
I’m here to say my F2 neutron relay is reliably overstable. Flies with the same overstability as my champion teebird, both 171g. I almost get more turn with my champ teebird. The relay seems to want to get stable and get down to the ground no matter how hard I try to snap it on a turnover shot. I currently love my halo star roadrunner, but I’ve been throwing a Z-dye cicada off the tee instead. It’ll be hard to replace my 160g beat up DX teebird for 7 speed turnovers, but you’ve given me many ideas of a replacement. Thanks for the video!
Also, per the relay, flight numbers from mvp show -2 for high speed turn. Some retailers mistakenly list it as -3. I throw 350 to 375 max distance with drivers and let me tell you, the Relay is a great disc but I can barely get any turn out of it. I'd say -0.5, 1.5 would be more accurate. Listed like a slightly overstable signal but the two couldn't be further apart. Signal is legit understable. These videos are extremely useful. Even if some of the evaluations aren't quite right due to the throw being too low or what not, if you know what you are looking at you can still tell a lot from a bad throw, or one being compared based on a completely different throw.
Yes, as you’ve told us, and experienced players know, plastic types matter. The Leopard3 is my main driver. I have 3 in plain Star plastic (171-170-163g) and they fly for my 200’ noodle arm just like the Rhythm did, which I also have. Slight fade right with a small reliable late fade.
Personally grown a huge liking to the discmania genius premium 7 5 -4 1, it had taught me everything i needed to know and see...it was my favourite until the star leopard3 came into my bag until the halo version kicked it out.
The Thought Space Mantra would be a great addition to this list. Have you checked that one out yet? Especially Aura plastic. I could even send you one.
I really like Trash Panda plastic. I also like ESP which I see a lot of people complain about being too slick and hard. Star is good, close to being too grippy for me. Gateway super soft and DD soft putter blends just stick to me. Probably my natural tackiness level in my hands work this way is my guess. To each their own. Play on.
The Yikun discs flight numbers tend to be a bit mixed up. I bag 2 Yikun discs and one being the Jin Wi which is 9/5/0/2 but it turns over so I believe its closer to a 9/5/-2/1 or even a 2 fade
I'd love to see the distance and dispersion differences of those bigger turn discs on your list thrown on hyzer flip angles. I would bet that you would get a different over all distance winner.
Sorta thought the Leopard, being that it's so popular in starter packs, wasn't here... The Leopard 3 and in the OVER over stable discs, Honorary mention to the Latitude 64 Diamond Gold Orbit 10 Year anniversary and the StarLite Boss (Mine does a 360 in the air if thrown RHFH at 11 O'clock and I have to throw at about 50% to prevent a roller from a 45deg Hyzer)
I find trash pandas newest blend of premium to be my favorite of what they run. I also find that as you use the disc they become more grippy. I’m also wondering if it’s something with the recycling process because I’ve felt a fully recycled ozone made from dyemax plastic and it still felt slick
Was hoping to see the Essence! (8/6/-2/1). I'm surprised you were throwing so many max weight discs since they aren't very suitable for weaker throwers. I never buy anything over 168g, especially if I want understable flights. Strangely my Hatchet is super understable and my various Heats are only a little understable, but I love the Heats. My X plastic Heat is very understable but it's basically a different disc from the Z's and ESPs. I've noticed that X line discs tend to be smaller in diameter and more domey.
I was really hoping you might do some Yikun discs fairway drivers because my all time favourite disc is now the Yikun View in Dragon plastic. If you get a chance to try one out that would be great. It is similar to the 2 you threw today but less stable. Very straight actually. You can do almost anything well with this disc...even putt. I have owned 3 and 2 were the same. One felt and looked slightly different and was much more understable. Both my great ones were yellow. Some of the Yikun view plastic seems like you can see an internal ring opposite the rim at the same diameter. These seem more understable. I think it might actually be 2 different plastic types labeled as the same.
I max out at 350, And out of the box the Hatchet has alot of turn for me and then the fade, It's crazy to see yours drive straight then fade with no Turn
standard anti innova slant from you. Halo star off the shelf is not a way to test a mold. Plus, the leopard3 is the more overstable version. Try a champ/star leopard broken in. Lasers.
Nice. I throw a hatchet and an underworld. Ha just finished the video. Hatchet takes some power to turn. I hyzer flip super straight shots with it. Or make it hold high anny/flat shots for slight turns. Gotta throw it hard though. 350ft at least to get the flight. You would prolly like that underworld more
Try out the piwakawaka by rpm. Its a 6 speed 6 glide -3turn 0 fade. I have the glow version at 180g, i dont have to put much into it to go 260-270 My halo leopard3 brand new turned so much more than my star leopard3 which still turns which has hit several trees.
Leopard 3s actually ARE somewhat understable, but you probably need about 350' power to really see it. Thrown hard hyzer they'll flip up and bend right a bit without much late fade. Honestly, it's one of the better understable fairway drivers out there for when you want to throw hard and not have something totally turn and burn. If you really want to see a flippy Leopard, try a DX one. Those things are ridiculous.
That Hatchet is bugged. They always felt -3/1 for me. And Im not a hard thrower, my Insanity flies like your hatchet flew. I get insane distance with my hatchets, but I need to throw them on a lot of hyzer.
We choose discs we have in stock and sometimes it just doesn't work out to include certain discs. We had Essence and Function in stock about a month ago but not when we recorded for this video, we're always open to revisiting these tests or including different discs in a part 2 so maybe we'll test them in the future.
Unless I missed it I didn't see/hear the Innova Archangel 8 6 -4 1. One of favorites for my 73 year old arm. My guess you didn't have any in-stock. Would have loved to see what your arm would do.
Underworld from Westside is also a great 7 speed under stable driver
One of the discs I almost always bag. Now I have a small bag and a small shelf, but learning the Underworld this year has been a lot of fun!
For a 890 rated am with a noodle arm, the Underworld is the only disc I can consistently roll. Great anhyzer and hyzer flip flights too..
And is so flippy.
Seer is also somewhat flippy.
Westside seems to never get much love on this channel. But in the real world so manynpeople throw westside. I find it super weird no one talks about it, but so many people bag it
Before I even watch this video - I am so excited to watch this content. I love understable fairway drivers, thanks for making it!
I'll add to the trend of suggesting some discs that weren't included.
Kastaplast Stig
Axiom Virus/MVP Impulse
Kastaplast Falk
I still loved the video, though!
So glad that you had the rhythm trance and drift in the video! Much needed comparison between the three for me.
Great review! This series is outstanding, it's great to see throws from a "more typical" thrower. Thank you for your work!
The Maul from L64 is a great 7 speed under stable driver
Felt this disc really deserved a place here.
I bag a Maul and, for me, it's an extra long Mako3. The straightest disc in my bag, not counting the Mako3
Westside underworld and westside seer has this slot in my bag. Was hoping to see them to compare with others.
I watched this video for the bloopers!
I throw Latitude 64 rivers as my understable/Hyzerflip fairway driver. I have a 154 g Opto air that I use to hit gaps and Hyzerflip lines in the woods with low power, and a 169g goldICE for shots that need to finish right.

Star wraith for me
Tumbleweed!!!
Another 6 speed to try is the MVP Signal (6, 5, -3, 1). One of my favorites!
Clash millet is my golden child =) Steady ring soda is a close second but for more of a straight shot.
I think I am average-ish, low 50mph if I recall but I need to try my TechDisc
The kastaplast Stig and the west side underworld deserve a shout out. Especially the stig.
My k1 stig likes 2 things…. Going right, and going far!
Exactly. Leaving out Stig seems strange... (sold out?)

I have a Champion RR that is just beefy for me, also noodle arm.
I have star, champion & halo star. Also had the gstar until it decided to hide somewhere in a grassy embankment.
They do fly very similar. The halo will have a bit more resistance to turn.
29 discs! Great googley moogley, Greg. Bravo sir! 👏
Viking Cosmos in Armor, Discraft Heat in Big Z, Cicada in Z, Discmania Neo Essence... all great discs, the Big Z heat I have seems a bit extra stable, pushed all of these to +340' on various hyzer angles, great discs.
No Discmania discs? Essence? Function? 🥲
TD from discmania is the go to 🤌
Yeah that’s honestly crazy.
Glad your elbow is feeling better. This is the hardest spot in my bag to fill. So, thank you.
lol the air quotes have me cracking up
Glad you are healthy again, great video.
Thank you for the video!
Latitude 64 Diamond in gold orbit plastic 156g is my favorite fairway driver ever since I first threw it 4yrs ago when I started playing. My wife’s favorite driver as well
I love any video with an insanity, found it as my first fairway driver and it's been in the bag since in multiple plastics now 😂
This is the slot we’ve been waiting for
Yeah yeah. More westside love. Too underrated.
Mine are the Lat 64 River, Lat 64 Maul, and the Kastoplast Stig.
None of which you threw lol
Was really hoping to see Westside Underworld in the line up rather than their Hatchet. 7 6 -3 1 for the Underworld.
Wow. I was really surprised with the Hatchet! Mine is veeery understable like Underworld
I have a really slow arm speed so I usually use lightweight discs. I use a 158g Lat-64 Maul which for me goes straight with some finish. Great video!
Having a noodle arm myself, this is the perfect video to watch 😛
Right now I bag a MVP Signal, a TSA Nuance und the Streamline Shift.
I don't know why you have haters in the comments.
You put out top tier quality content. Keep it coming! Big fan
No matter how many discs we include, there’s always more we didn’t
@SixSidedDiscs your breakdowns are Immaculate. Keep grinding
12:35 Yup, that's how I lost 2 Opto Diamonds including a 170g one which was so good and it sucked to loose it :/ If you're not careful they go so far right, that they leave the field you practice on. Truly exceptional disc, such an advantage on hard left to right holes.
My Fairway Line Up: Teebird3, River, and F7.
Trance has also been released in Prism Proton plastic at the 2023 OTB Open.
Drift is my favorite 7 speed. Its very versatile and goes a long ways when I need it to.
Not reviewing the Lat64 River is sad :/ Goat tier Hyzer flip disc
My favorite flippy fairway is the Mantra from TSA. Incredible disc and I've got a domey one that flips effortlessly and a board flat one that stays straight and reliably fades out.
Going to add to some more discs I wish were included:
You mentioned them, but the streamline ascend, mvp relay, and mvp signal.
I just hit my first ace with mine :) 21:04
my favourite flippy 7 speed is one you didn't review. Clash Discs Soda, such a fun disc. I've bagged the prototype for 3 years(?) now
You have the same results as myself with the Leopard 3, and the Insanity 😊 Now I know it just isn't me! 😅
The axiom inspire is awesome, i wish it was in production
Vandal is my fav
The fission rhythm has been my go to us fairway but i recently got a tsa plume mantra that I'm digging. Might replace it soon
I recently did a test similar to this. The f5 in 400 plastic took the crown for my arm speed
I need the Mint Jackalope to be reviewed. It's 8, 5, -2, 1. Fantastic disc.
My Heat was my fav but it bounced off the fairway and into the trees and weeds. My mvp inertia is my 2nd furthest thrower, well now my 1st.
I'd say the Lat64 Brave would also be a great pick for testing, alongside the Kastaplast Stig and Falk, and Lat64 River
Very interesting. My Hatchets never flew like that … definitely a -2/1 flight. Underworld is the best purely understable driver I’ve thrown.
They don’t even beat in to a stock esp Heat level of turn.
no essence or vandal??
Westside Underworld and Hatchet are my favorite. Just started to throw the Mint Jackalope. Love Westside
Ever try a 'Seer' I don't think they make it anymore but it's a great US 7 speed. Really cool stamp too.
@ I’ve seen them. Haven’t thrown one
My understable fairways that I bag are the Rhythm and RPM Pekapeka
No Stig or Falk? Bit odd as they're both really good flippy discs
was hoping for the Falk myself
Roadrunner flies the same for me, some turn if i hit it right, then solid fade.
Personally grown a huge liking to the discmania genius premium 7 5 -4 1, it had taught me everything i needed to know and see...it was my favourite until the star leopard3 came into my bag until the halo version kicked it out.
For flippy FDs my favorit atm are 9 speed MVP Impulse and 7 Speed TSA Nuance. Both getting crazy distance for noodle arm on hyzer flip.
The Thought Space Mantra would be a great addition to this list. Have you checked that one out yet? Especially Aura plastic. I could even send you one.
Westside Underworld is the most understable disc I throw, great for high, anhyzer flights and easy to roll as well.
The Leopard 3
and in the OVER over stable discs, Honorary mention to the Latitude 64 Diamond Gold Orbit 10 Year anniversary and the StarLite Boss (Mine does a 360 in the air if thrown RHFH at 11 O'clock and I have to throw at about 50% to prevent a roller from a 45deg Hyzer)
I got a TP Ozone a few months ago. I’m still trying to figure it out but I like it, I think.
I find trash pandas newest blend of premium to be my favorite of what they run. I also find that as you use the disc they become more grippy.
I’m also wondering if it’s something with the recycling process because I’ve felt a fully recycled ozone made from dyemax plastic and it still felt slick
The Gateway Spear and Cyborg would have done great in this comparison. I throw those plus the Heat for my USFWs.
I just got a relay for Christmas, I will let you know 12/27 how I flies for me. My best drive ever was the Insanity at 363’ so we will see
Future suggestions:
Prodigy F9
Neptune Marlin
Thought Space Nuance
Goliath Discs Ark is definitely worth looking at.
I have the glow version at 180g, i dont have to put much into it to go 260-270
My halo leopard3 brand new turned so much more than my star leopard3 which still turns which has hit several trees.
The frist Trance was from the 2023 MVP Open releases.
Pretty sure my circuit challenge trance is made of the same plastic, proton rim/neutron plate
23:58 the halo star roadrunner is a completely different disc then other roadrunners.
Sidewinder and river next boss.
Agreed, why leave out Discmania? 8 speed Essence and function. I'd like to see a result of the 7 speed S line FD as well.
The brave in grand royal is understable for me, F7 , millet are the ones i throw
