- COLONOSCOPY…it’s a BIG WORD that brings BIG FEAR for some people when it’s time to have their first one. Well we’re colonoscopy virgins and thought it might be helpful to share our experience in a light hearted fun way to take the scary out of the prep and procedure. So come along with us on our
colonoscopy adventure and find out what it is all about without the medical mumbo jumbo.
I had my colonoscopy in March and my doc gave me Clenpiq. It comes in 2 small bottles - one to drink at 5pm the night before and the other to drink 6 hours the next morning before the procedure. I drank it straight from the bottle and chugged it down. Halfway in between I did have a few sips of Mt. Dew but you don't have to mix Clenpiq with anything. You just drink it straight. Don't give yourself time to taste what you're drinking or you'll have a hard time continuing to drink it. I held my breath and drank! It worked great, too. I wasn't running back & forth to the bathroom like I thought I would and was able to sleep the entire night without having to get up and go to the bathroom.
I will have to look into that for the next time.

This is great! The belch was the best! You have to have a sense of humor about this because the prep is nasty but the alternative is worse.

Y’all are so cute and funny together!! Gonna have to have my hubby check y’all out. Then maybe he will see how much fun this can be as a couple!
We did it as a couple because we were afraid whoever wasn't going first might chicken out by watching the other one go through the process. Stefan was so worried about everything and in the end (no pun intended) he realized it was no big deal. Do it as a couple! Just make sure you have arrangements to have someone take you and pick you up because they will not let you leave on your own.

Hello I have a question please. Did you feel anything after your colonoscopy I did my colonoscopy 25 days a go and I still get Diarrhea and sharp pain in stomach and Hiatal hernia and right lower back pain . I wish I never did the colonoscopy I feel terrible. I went back to the doctor and he put me on pantoprazole sod DR 40 mg . I did use CLENPIQ Please let me know
We're so sorry to hear you are having issues after your colonoscopy. Neither of us had any residual affects from ours. We walked out like nothing had happened and never looked back. Our follow-up was done as a tele-medicine visit because we felt perfectly normal and had no fever, etc. Neither of us are medically trained but if it were us, we would most likely seek a 2nd opinion at this point. We wish you well!

I used Clenpiq as well and don't have any of those problems. During my endoscopy a hiatal hernia was found and also some erosion in my lower esophagus/upper stomach due to GERD so my doctor wanted to put me on the same meds you're on, but it's very expensive so my pharmacy is supposed to call my doctor back and ask if there's something cheaper I can take. I'm supposed to take the meds for 2 months then go back for a checkup.
I thought you were not to have artificial sweeteners?
The only thing we were told is it had to be a clear liquid.
