- Page Rad is a dude who knows how to party. He also has a knack for crusty classic cars with big american v8's. This is his 1974 Ford LTD dubbed "The Drinking Step Dad" and the name feels rather appropriate.

Uncle buck would approve LoL, it's always a bonus when the owner is as cool as the car also
same
Uncle Buck!
My first thought was uncle buck
The Drinking Step Dad is perfect.
@@seeharvester No, Uncle Buck, would have been perfect.
I totally lost it at "We call it the Drinking Stepdad Edition." 😂😂😂
John Candy would be proud
First thing I thought was uncle Buck
That was a Mercury Marquis
Not Jake Elwood, and his shit box Dodge?
It would have been funnier if uncle Buck had a sleeper in the movie!
Uncle Buck!
Saw "Big Block Ford" and immediately clicked. Not disappointed.
That custom badge! The only clue that something's up here. 🥳
Krusty Krab
I love how Zach is just being himself, and then it has a little particulars from the hoonigan clan and video cut ups that make me understand. Editing is half the battle but the knowledge priceless
Always love from NYC YA heard !
These are the sleds we had in high school.
Those were the days. My high school parking lot was a mix of 60s, 70s, and 80s.
I've had 3 LTDs and a Ranchero LTD2. 302, 400, 351 modified, and the Windsor. All were a blast.
@@jasonjohnson4028 I had a 1972 Chrysler Newport with a big-block in it, and it was a sweet smooth ride. 19 feet long IIRC.
Huge back seats for lots of camping room .😂
Now this is a sleeper. Decent power to weight ratio, all these big boats deserved more power and he gave it to it. Only thing I'd do diff is upgrade the stereo and fix the dash, but the crusty exterior insures nobody is rushing to steal it or fuck with it.
When I was in high school, a buddy of mine had (if I remember correctly) a '76 4-door. He lived out in the South Dakota farmland. He and I went on some over the top gravel road excursions, and he just absolutely THRASHED the thing. I mean tortured it to hell and back. All while laughing our asses off. We had some great times in that big-ass boat, this vid brought back some awesome memories. That thing never quit even after all the abuse. "Rev it up!!!" as my friend used to say... constantly.
The kinda car your stepdad comes through in hammerd take your mom to pound town and you to McDonald's while he's telling you your dad ain't shit 😂😂😂
Don’t forget the ragged cigarette hanging out of his mouth, that he extinguishes in the glass ashtray on the coffee table that’s filled with half-smoked cigarettes mashed down to put them out. 😂
You guys know exactly WTF you're talking about, and I'm here for it! 😂
I love ratty sleepers
Sometimes i wish i could go back in time and see all these kinds of cars in their glory days. I honestly can't picture these old cars being everywhere.
Growing up in that era was a different world. Our street had a 73 Riviera, 74 Cutlass, 70 roadrunner, 72 power wagon etc ...I miss those days.
Nobody thought a thing about them. They were overgrown slugs, they were slow and handled like boats, and sucked down the gas in a time when gas prices were on the rise. These cars are the reason the Japanese got such a strong foothold in the US. The year this car was made my friend bought a mint ‘67 4 speed convertible GTO for $700 bucks. We thought he was crazy. I sure do miss those days.
Any good 70's flick with street scenes would give you a good visual.
The UA-cam channel, Car Chase Wonderland (something like that) has plenty.
@@steves7896 Worst of them was the Starsky and Hutch Torino. I drove my friend's. It was top heavy and handled like jello with shag carpeting halfway up the doors. That’s what I remember.
@robhersey1796 mom had a 63 rambler wagon, dad traded in for a 69 Belair wagon (skyline blue) I'd give anything to have that one today
Homey’s mullet is as bad ass as the car!!! It’s flow’n down like a Kentucky waterfall!!!!!
He doesn't have a mullet though?
@@OneEyeDollar6exactly that's standard trim NorCal stoner dad hair.
@@OneEyeDollar6
Right. Think 1980s Billie Ray Cyrus for the mullet.
@@seeharvester I can't tell if you agree or disagree with me tbh.
Billy raycyruss would be jealous.
Takes me back to the streets of San Francisco and starsky and hutch days
the perfect10 shirt really helps add a touch of class to this
Wished they still made cars like this. So kewl and plenty of room
This felt like old hoonigan
I was in high school in the 60's and had a GTO. Sometimes you would run into a sleeper, that's what this bad boy is. Camouflaged in a standard issue family car was a beast of an engine. Thanks for the memories.
I see lots of comments of cool cars being owned by high schoolers in the 60s-80s and always wondered.
Were these cars affordable enough new to save up with summer jobs or were they presents from parents?
That’s not a family car, it only has two doors. It was considered a personal luxury car.
Zach finds the coolest cats
This thing looks like it has a mullet.
Its perfect! Not a ford guy, but it's old enough it doesn't matter. I'm a big fan of ridiculous sleepers and this definitely qualifies.
Childhood friend of mine inherited one just like it from his dad. Still had the original 400cid Modified, and he'd sit in it and drink Micky's Bigmouths till it was time for the ceremonial burnout. Without ever pulling it out of the garage(it had no brakes) he'd push against the concrete block halfwall, and go into a hell jelly with it. Good times!
Now that's one powerful boat
Wish my drinking step dad was that classy
We had a 76 Torino station wagon, 460 C6, and a 76 LTD 400. It was slow.
My dad hopped the wagon with CJ parts, intake carb duals. Metallic Brown with the fake wood trim .
I drove it to high school, probably was the fastest car there.
Chop senses tingling on a Thursday morning 😂
I love land yachts
Reminds me of the movie White Lightning with Burt Reynolds! Classic movie!!!
This was my Grandmas car in the 80s..❤
That’s super cool! Love it
You know even being a gm man, this brings a smile to my face. American folks should revel in American cars. Never give up on them.
Absolutely nothing wrong with the exterior, perfect stance!
Wide Whites?
@douglascooper1987 you have a strong point, but skinny whites would certainly work.
My first car was a 77 Ford Ltd. I learned how to drive on it. That thing barely ever got driven on pavement. None of the roads here were paved back then! Times have changed.
I'm convinced everyone my age (pushing 50) grew up with one of these beasts. We had one when I was a kid, same brown color. LTD!
The 1970's cars will always be the ultimate sleepers. Always. I love the car. Back in the day I know of one LTD that was powered by a Boss 9.
Super crusty - hell, it's not even a Mark IV lol
NOICE
thanks algorithm!
i love these kind of builds. such a gnarly ride. love it 🔥
Dude… absolutely love the sleaze build. Would love to have a sleazer some day.
What up Brougham!
Omg I had one. All black 2 door with flip open headlights. It was such a smooth ride and super clean!
I like them ltds since I was a kid in the 80s. Also the wagons
Nicely detailed engine bay, headers look killer.
LOVE LOVE LOVE these kinds of sleepers. Back in the early 90's I had a '77 LTD with a warmed over 460 cu. in. and a built C6. That car was a beast. With the exception of two exhaust tips peaking out from under the rear bumper you had no clue the car was a tire burning road monster until it was fired up.
This car is right in that wheel house. I would not of slammed it to the ground but everything else is , to me, spot on perfect. I hope the owner gets years of fun with this beauty.
My dad had a two-door LTD 1974 with a 351 Windsor dark red with black interior and black top that thing was a badass machine 🤘
I keep dreaming of getting a big 70's sled and this might push me over the edge
This was a cool, short vid. Love seeing anything custom especially the old school shit!
Now that's one powerful boat)))))))
Lowering this kind'a car is the best ever way a lowered car looks like. Not one single modern car can compete with this look. Those wheels tucked nicely away in the wheel arches. Long, Low. YES YES YES
My father grew up in 78 Ltd station wagon. It was a 351 car in a yellowy butter color.
those things where frigging beasts..i still got to see them fairly new in my childhood..wish i had one
Strong "Uncle Buck" vibes.... '77 Mercury Marquis Brougham in the movie
Now thats one badass boat
That's one sweet boat!
"We live by the beach. We don't need a/c." I had this idea after seeing Men In Black but with a 4-door and 427 stroked Windsor. Awesomely sleazy.
Magnificent in every way.
This video made me miss the build breakdowns from Hoonigan. If he can keep the spirit of those old videos alive, I know I’ll watch.
Absolutely love this car. Real American stuff here. PERFECT!
Perfect sleeper !! love it !!
I'd love a car like this.
Not a Ford guy but , I love it!
My granny had a triple-gold '76 a lot like this one, padded landau, full wheel covers, the works. She traded it for a brand new '83 done up the same way. I miss that '76 the most, but would love to have either of them today.
I love the front, the rear, the body lines. I love these old boats.
Pretty BADASS Man....
Thanks for keeping that old Battle cruiser going. I love the old 5000 pound cars. Lol
Official mafia staff car.
I had it's Mercury relative for one month, a '73 more door Monterey 400ci. Bought the night I arrived from NZ, for $400 in '87. Pumped the tyres to 40psi and hit the road, 10,000 miles and one lap of America later, I was back in L.A., with the Merc. as my hotel for half the journey. Those WERE the days....!!
That “drinking stepdad edition” badge is legendary
Man this feels like old school Build Bio, keep killing it Zac!
...when I became an old man, I bought a
Geo Metro Convertible
( 65 HP )...
...and I felt like born again...
😎☀️🎼
I think Zach needs something like this in his life
"Drinking Stepdad" ... nailed it!!!🔥
Ford LTD always in my memories
COO-ELL!!! I owned from new a 2dr. 1974 LTD Brougham. Same color, Ginger Glow Metallic. 460, C-6, 3.25 rear trailer towing package, A/C, and nearly every factory option. It was always immaculate, quiet and rode like a Lincoln. Loved that car. Kept it for about five years then sold it to a buddy that had it for a while and then he sold it to a buddy of his who beat the stuffing out of it. I keep hearing that it's still around and only a few towns away. I may look into it one of these days!
Way to go Bill, as I owned a '73 Monterey for a month/10,000miles....even successfully drove it through a tree !!
@@arkhsm 🤣
I absolutely love it!!!! I am building a Ford Crown Victoria, P7B police car with the exact same ideas as this! but with a pro charged coyote 5.0. I love Sleepers!!
I can smell that car through this video and I love it! 😂
Jack Lord would be proud! "Book him Dano!
I can still smell my grandmother's ltd from when i was a kid
My mom had a '74 LTD, we called it the Lizard Lounge and my little brother would drive it to school.
This car could be cruising around town and no one would ever even notice it. only real gearheads would take a closer look, and even then, only hard core car freaks would notice that this car is something special.
This thing is just my jam, maxx rococo, peak B R O W N , much fast, very scuzz.
Watched it twice, I’ll watch it a bunch more too.
This car is amazing. Love this coverage
You definitely need something like that man lmao
Just in time for lunch🤝🏽
Passes EVERYTHING but gas stations 😊
Pure fire !
I love this car. I've got one 460 in my truck and another in the garage. #BBF4Life
Kurt Cobain was a cast member in Flee. Someone told me that on the internet too.
I remember my aunt passing away when I was a kid and in her garage sat a Ford LTD in great condition with low Mike's and I remember riding in it as a kid and when ya hit a a bump it would rock back and forth for a 4-5 seconds 😬
Thing was a tank 😉
Finally a 5 mph bumper made to break some feet.
"Watch the paint"
haha what a beautiful ride
❤
Badass car. Badass owner. Love it
The 400 is not a big block. But it has a lot of things interchange between the Modified 335 series engine and the 385 series engines as fast as transmission and maybe motor mounts go.
If 'The mullet' was a car, this would be it.
Clicked on this faster than a fat guy goes to cake
4800 lbs should be spot on. I had a 1972 with a 351 Cleveland, man I miss that car. Unfortunately got rear ended by a 16 year old in a 82 Prelude doing 65 mph while stopped for a red light. She never saw the light, never braked! Knocked me into the 83 LTD in front of me and them into the Pinto in front of them. Bent the entire rear, frame and all, 45 degrees at the back of the rear wheels. Flat bed tow truck's winch couldn't pull it up the ramp, had to get in & fire it up, floor it shredding tires every where to help the guy load it. Firmly convinced if I hadn't been in an old school land yacht I wouldn't be alive today.😲
....and not a single fireworks coming from the Pinto gas tank?
Which has absolutely nothing with the topics other than sitting around on the internet attention seeking.
It looks just like my 1974 LTD I had as a teenager. It had a 429, and was a two door, which was unusual for the two door. Many memories were made in that car.
A true thing of beauty 🍺
Genuine unfiltered Zac is the best form. Loved this!
"DRINKING SETPDAD" , PERFECT NAME
Now that's what you call a fast boat.
I love it!
