Hopefully this one won't be restricted by UA-cam like my previous Red Front video.
Now, I know some people will comment about the “Germany for Germans” line before the last chorus. According to the German Wikipedia, the line was most likely added by Ernst Busch refrencing to the American occupation of West Germany.
The man in the picture is Ernst Thälmann, leader of the Red Front, which was the paramilitary organization of the communist party during the Weimar Republic, before it was banned.
Wedding, a locality in Berlin, was called "Red Wedding" for its militant, largely Communist working class, where communists and nazis had clashes in the 1920's.

Since that one phrase causes issues, I'll have a take on that:
Germany back then was a rather homogenous nation. Thereforde people wheren't able to look at that phrase from the same perspective as we do, nowadays.
"Damit Deutschland den Deutschen gehört" is meant in the sense of "Damit Deutschland allen Deutschen gehört" - "... belongs to ALL Germans".
It is about including everyone. If the right talks about "Deutschland den Deutschen" they mean that in an exclusive manner.
Also who is German the left and right will define very differently. For a leftist, to be German you need to choose to live there and learn the language. So you can decide to be part of that group. For the right to be German, you have to be of German descent. Therefore you can never be a German no matter how much you try to assimilate.
Considering all of that, there is not much to be offended about.
I'd say it has more to do with Germany belonging to the German proletariat instead of the German aristocrats and bourgeoisie. Germany belongs to the Germans, not to a ruling class.

One can only imagine how history would have developed had the German Revolution succeeded! There would not be a Second World War for sure. The Socialist bloc would have received a massive boost from Germany's advance economy and industry, where Lenin had realised that Russia was "backward" and was hoping a successful revolution in a Western country would be able to assist the USSR get rapidly industrialised, so Socialists could compete on equal terms with already developed Western countries.

I wonder what would have happened if the KPD had joined with the Black Front in the early 30s. Very unlikely i know but it would make an interesting alt universe for sure.
Nothing good. The KPD did much better by staying true to their principles and were able to take power after the liberation of Germany by the USSR. This hypothetical nazbol alliance could only either lead to a rightward shift in the party, or a momentary alliance of convenience that would lead to betrayal and infighting later down the line. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe in their own work the Strasserites said they are completely opposed to Bolshevism and Marxism-Leninism, which they referred to as “Eastern Socialism” or something of the like. I don’t think these are contradictions that could be resolved peacefully, true Marxism-Leninism is completely opposed to farcical “”national Bolshevism””, just as nazbols are often times idealistic and reactionary, and completely opposed to truly principled Marxist-Leninist ideas as established by Marx, Lenin, and Stalin.

This is of important cultural historical value for the music and singing, the actual lyrical content should not be viewed through any sort of modern lens, especially an overtly political one. Absolutely agree with Soc or Bar. At the time Germany was forced to pay enormous reparations and had faced french invasion when they stopped doing so for a while. This continued during the Great depression and they were also forced into disarmament. The "Germany for the Germans" is said in the context in which Germany was literally controlled by the other western powers.

This version is the version published after WW2, under GDR rule. "Germany for the Germans" is targeting the US occupation of western Germany and was not part of the original pre-war version of this song.
