    I was racing pro downhill for titus cycles and at the shape of my life, got rear ended in a car wreck, and developed a neuromuscular disease called paraperisic spasticity. it got really bad to the point I couldn't ride anymore. I couldn't live without riding, and over the course of several years, starting back on a trainer and going from there, im back on the trail. I can hardly walk and have a hard time keeping my balance. but when im on the bike, absolutely nothing is wrong with me. I burst into tears when I saw the look on martyns face . I don't have words to describe, other than amazing. what a stellar group of guys. Martyn, believe me, the best rides of your life have yet to come. cheers and enjoy!!!!!!

      Bikes are amazing things. In 2011 I broke my spine. Nearly four years on I'm in almost constant pain. Painkillers don't do much to get rid of it, but when I'm out on my bike I'm completely pain free. Keep riding.

    When I need to face a difficult moment, I come to this video and just forget about trivial things and enjoy the happiness and satisfaction of overcoming the real barriers life can put in front. Then, I look back at my situation and all looks so easy and simple...sometimes is about the pure joy of moving forward against all odds.

      @aguadoia 8 років тому +18

      If you see it that way...then you are the twisted one and really have some issues. if, instead, you can feel his joy for doing what he loves most, what makes him forget for a brief moment his new situation...and use it to remind yourself that there's always something in life, no matter what, that will help you lift up your spirit, forget, and find peace, then you will understand my comment. Hope you find something soon that will let you get rid of this hate and need to underestimate your fellow ones. Sincerely, your friend.

    Martyn Ashton I have never smiled and cried simultaneiously and so unexpectedly in my whole life. This, sir, was an absolute PLEASURE to watch. I have followed you so closely for the last few years and THIS is by far, my favourite of all the amazing videos you have made. Martyn, you are SUCH a huge inspiration to me, to your fans and to anybody that has ever watched any of your videos. Your family and friends must be so damn proud of you. I want to watch this 1000 times over. You have lifted my spirits expeditiously today. Robin Kitchin you've done it once again. Yet another beautiful masterpiece. You are a master of your craft. I was shocked at my own reaction to this. I literally cried, laughed, smiled, gasped and whooped throughout the entire thing. Your friends cycling beside you like that-beaming faces throughout. My heart feels 10 times larger after watching that.

    Who can dislike this??? He said that not having legs takes his riding to a new level, as he can't make mistakes and needs to hold a LOT of speed. I'd be there to help him every single ride if I could.
