Are you aware of the LR TSB that instructs you to remove the plugs on the fuel pump assembly unit and directly wire everything together? Appparently, the plug connectors are faulty and eventually they stop carrying signal. So, on top of everything you are doing, I think I also have to clip a bunch of wires. It's TSB LTB00566NAS4, but I think this is just for 2010-2012 models...have

Thanks for posting that information. Although the access and removal remained somewhat similar, the BMW hardware in the video was only used from 2003 - 2005. By 2010, BMW had already sold Land Rover to Ford and Ford had already sold it to TATA. The fuel pump on the 2006 was a very different beast than the one in video and it even had different fuel connectors. The 2010 was even more different still. Thanks again for sharing that TSB info. That looks like good intel for those with the affected 2010-2012 models.

Similar but no. Same location but different pump and different connector types. The access hatches will look similar. We're on to some of the Ford stuff in 2006 but the process from my video is pretty similar.

It's not an accident that I avoid providing links and recommendations for non-OEM product for something like this, however, Pierburg and Atlantic British are both brands/vendors that I would trust for complete assemblies. To save money, you could replace just the pump if you're comfortable doing the job. I believe Pierburg also sells just the pump for that purpose. Also, if it hasn't failed, you do not need to replace the secondary siphon. I just did so because it came with the assembly. Either way, you will have to uncouple it from the main pump assembly. I hear you. I had read a lot of stories of professional shops breaking the strange connectors on the filter and the pump mostly because they've never seen them before and probably never will again. They only used them on these a few years and breaking them can lead to some costly issues so I thought I'd give it a shot and share some of the tips on trim removal along the way.
