Six people dead after multiple shootings across Birmingham

- A couple who was reported missing Thursday night was believed to be found dead less than 24 hours later in a home in the Wylam community of Birmingham. A double homicide investigation is now underway.
That follows an incident of a quadruple homicide in the College Hills neighborhood of Birmingham earlier in the day.

It's too late guns, gun use and a siege mentality are out of control and when you have presidential candidates for example publicly voicing opinions that it should be ok to kill your opponents and do nothing about immigration to your country to prove a political point it's not going to get any better to be honest. You are clearly not educated on the justice system in Alabama, nor their prison system there. This is about not being raised right. Alabama will definitely lock criminals up and prosecute them. A year ago I was returning to Georgia from Texas. As we approached Birmingham Alabama I tried to talk my husband into taking the bypass. He wouldn't listen to me. It was about 2am on a Friday night. As soon as we got into the downtown area on I-20 I started hearing gunshots. Don't know where they were coming from but I told my husband next time listen to me and take the bypass!

What the hell is the mayor doing about it besides talking? When he first got into office he kept giving the people of Birmingham promises of turning Birmingham around but it only got worse. Birmingham is not that big and it could be an easy fix. First, there should be no abandoned houses. Start with that. Put cameras up around the city. Put your beat cops on the streets. They should patrol more than just 3rd avenue and arkadelphia Rd. Give up that mayor's seat if he cant do any better.
The mayor or any other mayor can't fix the problem. This is a culture of violence pushed on the youth. It's glamorized in music and Hollywood. The fix is strong men that are willing to step up and teach the youth a better path and self control in life. The government loves the narrative this kind of stuff gives them. It keeps people divided and lets them push racism. Skin color does not matter to God, it should not matter to people either. People are not groups, they are individuals and should be treated as such. When your politicians start grouping people together for division call them out on it loudly.

"When is it going to become Our City", the radius of your world depends on your mode of transportation. If you are a pedestrian you may only go to the West side a few times in a few years. A cyclist may ride through another "zone" occasionally, someone in a Cop Car driving the streets all day has a much bigger city. It's teritorial locals who get paranoid when "outsiders" are around that divide a city. This is Gang stuff. Not Andrew who owns or works at the local Fresh food shop. When Andrew lives on the East side, and even he has problems negotiating the streets safely there is a "no hobbies" problem.
