We dropped T-Mobile when this enforcement change was announced. We are currently trying Connecten for $139 a month. We used it last week in our RV 360 miles from home and it was fine. We are currently using it at home and so far so good. The wi-fi worked great in our RV but we went ahead and wired it to our TV at home. So far so good. Plan on cutting the cord here at home. Will save $250 per month on the at home service. $139 plus $80 for UA-cam TV will get us in at $229 for both home and away.
I have had the T-Mobile Home Internet for several years. It works quite well at the house, which IS in an approved area. I also bring it with me while I travel in the RV. It has worked almost everywhere we have been but usually at lower speed. If T-Mobile notifies me that I can no longer do this I plan to cancel my service and switch to Starlink. T-Mobile has reneged on a number of promises and raised rates when my plan was supposedly rate locked so I am not feeling good about them right now.
What do y'all think about the FMCA plans? I signed up for the Tech Connect Max plan using T-Mobile having unlimited data and could throttle after 100 gigs. Thank you for all y'all do.
I switched to the ATT $80 business plan, and I'm not very happy with it. With TMHI, speeds ranged from ok during congested periods to just as good as home during quiet hours. ATT tops out at "ok" to practically unusable at seemingly random times, and I'm not in the sticks either... Equipment: TMHI device was modded to connect to Parsec 5g antenna, ATT sim inserted in Peplink router connected to same Parsec antenna.
Travelfi just advertises a 5G router/modem. Have you all had a chance to review it? Is it still cheap and not have many options for networking? Same issue with the eSIM tech you mentioned in this live?
Thanks for the video! Calyx advertises no throttling on their website with unlimited data. Did you find the "priority and throtttling" in their fine print? Maybe they haven't updated their website? Thank you in advance.
There is no throttling on the plan.. deprioritized data just might be slowed down during times of congestion. The terms are on their master agent's (Mobile Citizen) site.
@@MobileInternetResourceCenter Verizon did me dirty then. But it was cool because it was never a permanent thing. I actually chose Verizon home Internet to be at one location anyway.
Just found you guys.. I of course at an address where Tmobile and VZ do not offer home internet. My son lives 7 min away and can get both. could I use his address and will it work at my house or are the two locked? I can get US cell but it is limited for $70. I do have spectrum 300M but the price is jumping to $90 I will try and negotiate with them now that my term is up but I was hoping to have options with T and V home internet in case Spectrum will not come down at all to the advertised $50 for new people for 1 year. Thanks for advice.
@@MobileInternetResourceCenter thanks, could I switch to this US cell (no contract) for 31 days and then move back to spectrum and get the promo price again? I see something that says cannot be customer for last 30 days? not ideal but wondering if it would work?
We talked to Xfinity and they said we have used an average of 400gb a month of usage. We have 2 ring doorbells, home security a tv with streaming (Netflix, UA-cam and UA-cam TV, etc) 2 iPads and two phones and we just want to have coverage everywhere we go. We are not boondockers out in the middle of nowhere. That is what we are looking for in a mobile coverage. Any ideas?
Here's our starting place for understanding the options out there: www.rvmobileinternet.com/getting-started Coverage 'everywhere' can be challenging - we recently recorded our connectivity at 47 stops across the country using every option out there, and here's the results: www.technomadia.com/casestudy
Can someone please give me a summation of the video? i’m grateful for the information, but I simply don’t have time to watch the whole video. I purchased T-Mobile home Internet two weeks ago before I found out that they were enforcing geofencing. Wondering if I should drop the plan?
Do I need to like come up with a business name or something when setting up the business plan? Is it possible to set up online, or do I gotta do the dreaded phone call?
@@MobileInternetResourceCenterWhat I heard was that streaming was blocked for the T-Mobile Business internet and could not be turned on. Did I misunderstand?
No problem just use a phone which is better and mobile hot spots. My experiment will be to tap into my phones antenna and run a short lead to an antenna. I'm using visible in a weak service area in the mountains. 73
RV folks have been operating illegal for a long time - the fun is over - T-Mobile is cracking down now on you folks that have been violating your terms of service. Time to switch providers folks !!
If you have a truly unlimited data plan - then home internet solutions are likely not a better choice. Thus why we have presented some great alternatives to consider.
As a trucker I can tell you both my Verizon and T-mobile routers are light years faster and more reliable because they get a better signal. Also having ethernet ports is a huge advantage for gaming and streaming. Absolutely worth it over a hotspot
You open your mouth to T-Mobile about people using the home internet in their vehicle and those people who needed to use it that way YOU just screwed them by snitching to T-Mobile!
We didn't 'snitch' to T-Mobile... RVers, nomads and boaters have been for years publicly sharing that they were using TMHI in a mobile way. Including many prominent UA-camrs.

They don't need a gps chip to track the device on there networks. Its extremely easy to the to track the location of the devices, since day one.
I've moved my TMHI just under 2 hours awY from my home address, no issues.
Returned within 24 hours tho.
They are not yet doing address validation, as the AWAY plan still has not officially launched.

Need to turn the volume up when Cherie talks. Volume down when Andy talks. Hope you can fix post production.
Unfortunately the software we use showed the sounds levels being equal. We will double check that next time. No way to change it now.

We have not reviewed it, and it does not appear the 5G option is multi-carrier like their LTE plans.

Verizon enforces this hard. If you take that router away from your registered address, your internet access will go away within an hour.
We hear far more reports of no enforcement.
really, do they have a gps in the unit that alerts them? that's why I don't use verizon sbags

Is the TMobile business Internet limited/throttled when streaming video? Also, how do you get the restriction removed for streaming on that?
You can request it via your T-Mobile business rep..
Do I need to like come up with a business name or something when setting up the business plan? Is it possible to set up online, or do I gotta do the dreaded phone call?
You'll need to contact the Business department to get setup as a business.. it can be sole proprietor (in your name).
I need to understand whether the T-Mobile business plans can receive streaming services content. like amazon prime or netflex.
Yes - as covered in the video, you can turn off entertainment blocking.
@@MobileInternetResourceCenterWhat I heard was that streaming was blocked for the T-Mobile Business internet and could not be turned on. Did I misunderstand?
So… the company name includes the word “mobile”…
It can be turned off, as we discussed in the video.
I wouldn’t mind the price hike for the service, if they had chosen to keep the 4k streaming active.
Ty for the great information.
really appreciate you guys

Well.. not illegal. It's not against the law, just not within their terms of service.
Is t-moble really better than starlink? Seems like they are going help push RVs to Starlink.
They each have their tradeoffs and considerations. Wouldn't say one is better than the other. More on Starlink: www.rvmobileinternet.com/starlink
Sounds similar to the recent Helldivers 2 controversy.
If we all cancel coordianted they will drop like somw flys
RVers it was Against the Terms of Service, now, “The time is finally here, T-Mobile's Home Internet service will begin verifying addresses.”
How this any better then a hotspot. Even at 100GB when I go over does not really slow down.
