So, awhile ago I made a promise here to give a full report on my red dot on my Glock 17. Here it is. Now, this is my personal opinion, based on my personal experience. We all carry for self defense, which happens at a distance of 7-10 yards and lasts for 3-5 shots. I've been practicing instinctive shooting for years, with the "tunnel" thing( every time you raise your pistol in your fav. shooting stance, your line of sight falls in the exact same tunnel as your eyesight). My honest opinion - in a self defense/combat scenario a red dot sight is a hinderance, not an asset. Now, I can hit a man-sized target with my Glock-17 at 75 yards using a red dot pistol sight. But it ain't a self-defense then, is it?
@maximak-murza6334 shooting at distance could very well fit into self defense, what if an assailant is firing at you from that distance, or with a second shooter backing up the criminal, from that distance. I typically shoot to 100 meters to have the knowledge of what it takes to hit at that range. Even if you only come close at distance having the ability to land bullets close may provide enough motivation to get a criminal to vacate.
I sent in both my 43X MOS for the retrofit cut (w/ holosun eps carry) and my 19 for co-witness cut (w/ holosun eps) and got them both back in less than 10 days. Very professional work and would definitely recommend their service.
I got my glock cut and came back a little rough but on time. Installed a romeo zero and the right screw hit the ejector spring. It prevented the round from loading and ejecting. I shaved it down a little and fixed the problem. Just letting you all know. Love the Glock Store!!!! Love their products and service!!! Have a great day!!! Stay safe!!!
Would be cool if Holosun made an optic with a rear sight molded into the base of the optic, and supplied a front sight to pair. Then you could have the optic only cutout, but have backup sights also.
This video is misleading. Lenny mentions being cheaper than any one else. They are actually higher than most at $200. A lot of shops will mill your slide between 100 and 150. I had my G19 done for 125 by a local gun smith. Had it back in a few days. Now don’t get me wrong I would try the Glock store and I work pretty close to them so it’s convenient but felt this should be shared.
I could have missed read so I just purchased a package for the slide cut and also for them to put my optic on. I'm just asking I got the invoice. Are they going to send me out instructions on how to ship it?
Last week I got my G17 slide back. GS did a great job with the ACRO co-witness cut. No issues at all and if I need another slide milled, I’d send it to GS without a doubt.
Do i have this right? I can send my slide in, get a combat sight and have it done lower? Does the slide need refinished? Do you recommend the EPS or 509T? Same footprint? I want it in green. Does the CA, TN location do this or both?
We cold blue every Glock slide we mill. The EPS uses the same footprint as the 507K, whereas the 509T has its own (clamping style) footprint. All of the slides are milled at our Nashville, TN location.
There is no CA location anymore as of July 2022. If you want it cerakoted green after the cut, we can do it too. Just add item 90024 to your order. Just a heads up, adding the cerakote will take a little longer than the 10 day guarantee because we have a local 3rd party do the coating, but I can definitely be done.
