I've done this and gone through many many IPSC and IDPA and CQB AARP courses. No problem at all if you install everything well and use loctite how it's supposed to be used.
Lenny is a class act. Perfect example of hard work paying off.
You still will have to wait 10 days if you send your slide in.😂
he has a guy who works in the glock store who alerts him when pretty girls come in so he can go out and deal with them directly, real class act
@@seanflanagan578 I heard about that too, what a pervert haha.
You guys are ALWAYS on top of customers needs! Really Appreciate that! Keep up the good WORK!
Lenny, thanks for always keeping us current with everything Glock. God Bless!
Looks like another winner, might have to get one for my G19 Gen 3, my G48 that you guys cut and mounted an optic on is AWESOME and I love it! I went with the green dot.
"KEEP ON KEEPIN ON"
Sounds like some great ideas Lenny! Always get the correct parts and get’em fast when ordering from GS.
This seems like a fine, time saving, money saving alternative.👌🏽
This product is a game-changer for gun enthusiasts like myself who value both functionality and aesthetics. Optic cuts can be daunting, but now we can enjoy the precision of a red dot without compromising the integrity of our beloved firearms.
This is garbage. Please don't waste your money on this.
Real good way for sure! Excellent! 👏🏻💯
I like it milled and install a Holosun SCS . Low is better. Nice alternative Lenny.
This’ll update all my old Glocks. Thanks!
lenny gotta be the most charismatic smooth talking gramps ive ever seen
great video would love a detaild video about compensators on pistols
Lenny, you are a true gentleman. I appreciate what you do for the 2A community. But I have to disagree with this product. It completely failed on my G19X, which is why I sent my slide to you guys to get it milled. And btw, I got the slide in less than the 10 days advertised 😂. Still, I appreciate the video.
I prefer the Scorpion (g surf)plate with the extra screw on the back of the slide for an extra point of contact if you're worried about the adapter flying off.
I’ve been using a mount like this on my Colt Delta Elite 10mm for years. Works great and has never moved. So I know this one will work.
I'm willing to bet yours doesn't have ten screws.
@@trustmebrobro nope. Just 1
@@madczechoutdoors1088 I'm not sold on this. Leveling screws sounds like a nightmare
Sounds great
Get the right dot with the dove tail attachment buddy got a viper but couldn't bottom out the dot enough
Lenny's the man
interesting idea
Too the dudes a Glock those are solid numbers!!!! Great job!
Next week my G17 slide will be in for an ACRO cut…… can’t wait.
Awesome!
Glock just take my money already🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I always pick up something new Lenny
Tried this type mount. Works. But, poor substitute for MOS or milled slide. It created an unnatural point of aim for me. Went back to iron sights. Still, it is the most cost-effective method.
They make all different types of loctite. You want to use Purple 222 for small screws. Not the common available red or blue.
I just looked this up. It's a low-strenght lock tite. Oil resistant too. I might have to try this out.
That is interesting way to mount a red dot, not something I would do, but I understand others might have use for it. But why would they use Loctite thread locker on the dove tail instead of one of Loctite's retaining compounds?
Why don't they sell slides that are already milled for the red dot? Seems to be the way to go.
Exactly
Mooooooooneyyyyy
The Glock 49 Gen 5 is killed from factory.... This service is for previous generations.
They do it’s the gen 5 mos models
It’s the MOS slides alternatively you could get a PSA dagger slide and a few other company’s make them too
Love it
Does the 2 front screws sit directly on top of the slide? Will that not dig into the slide or scratch deep into the slide?
Damn, now I want one for my 92FS
I've had one for a year works good if you blue lock tight screws.. Or they will back out.. But works good is holding 0
idea for the plate to make it (even) easier to install; put a center notch a mm deep in the center of the back edge, and include a plastic tool you can slide into the cover plate slot, that has a centering indicator.
or make two pieces you screw together that have a positive detent effect on that back edge, though the idea above is easier to have injection molded or printed.
one makes it close, the other makes it 'near perfect' centering the plate for the bore.
/shrug
So.. what does those set screws do to the finish once secured down to the slide??
Cool beans and although I have shot dot before I relish the challenge of shooting iron sights. I get the red dot makes things "easier" but when or if your red dot goes down guess what, you are back to irons anyways
But until then, you get more accuracy and speed for a minimal increase in bulk. Plus, a pack of 20 batteries is like 18 bucks, thats enough to last probably a decade.
@@CatholicKit but a dead battery isn't the only reason a red dot could go down.
I have a 507c last year and never used it because my g19 slide isn't cut yet I want this device 😢
Since you did not lock tight the base mounting plate, but did lock tight the optic to the plate isn't there long term risk that the base plate screws loosen over time making the entire optic mount system less than optimimum?
Do the screws mar the finish on the slide?
do you have to adjust it everytime you shoot the gun? or is it ready to go everytime?
Lenny will that universal optic mount fit on a GEN 3 GLOCK 30.
Were the link to the product ?
Does the mount raises the normal height of the optic?
What's that blue glock in the back and how do I get my hands on it?
Any chance this might work with a H&K VP9?
There are much thinner plates out there now. I use a DPP plate for my vortex viper and its almost like there is no plate at all.
Can you guys mill non glock slides on 10 day program?
Can the "universal" system be milled into a slide?
Which one do I need for a G43x??
I installed the DoveDot with co-witnessing and a Holosun 507K X2. Then I went to the range. 5 clicks and I was zeroed. The only thing is my co-witnessing iron sights do not match my optics’s zero. How do I get them to match up?
Seems oddly familiar, " springfield echelon " lol
Is it only glock slides you guys do ?
do you guys sight in the red dots?
Any prism optics?
So the 10 Day optic milling service, could we get it faster if we come to the store in Nashville?
He says at the end of the video that local customers or people who make the effort to come to the shop in Nashville, they will put in the effort to help make it fit your schedule and have it done in 4-5 days.
Will this system fit on Khar slides?
Any solution for 48 non-mos?
Use lock tight.. I've got one
Seems like those screws might damage the finish on the slide when you are tightening them down.
i don't believe that plate would hold zero very well
maybe if it were a press fit into the sight dovetail, but as it just slips in without any real pressure being necessary, its going to shift ..
I’ve tried doing research but can’t find an answer. Would this be compatible with a bushnell rxs-100?
Would have liked to see you actually mount the red dot to the plate. I’ve had other dovetail plates and finding the right screws was an issue
If Glock was "Perfection", then why don't they just make optic ready slides standard?
I can send my slide in and have it look like that ?
Yeah, dovetail is always coming loose and needing continued zeroing. Now, my Glocks with MOS and Holosun SCS are SUPER!!
Not enough Loctite Blue to hold tight. Maybe some JB on the dovetail would work!! Hahaha
Have you tried Red Loctite? Might do better?
@@gravis2000 But, if the Dot goes bad, Red is as bad as the JB Weld I was kidding about.
@@jonathansmith6011Mix a tiny bit of red into the blue? I see your point, not sure about the solution. Other than a cut.
Seems like it would easily slide right or left, reguardless of the set screws, throwing off your poi.
I like the plate option but to me it looks wider than the slide.
TAKE MY MONEY!!!
Depending on the price, i wouldn't mind sending my Taurus slide in.
Aw man could you make one of those for a 1911
Trijicon makes a dovetail mount for RDS. 1911 uses several dovetails so you have to be careful matching the mount to the slide.
only problem I can see with that is cost, you pay a small fortune for the dovetail mount. which it may not seem like much to some, but to us poor's its pricy. especially after you figure in the cost of the optic than another $50. + for the mount
Why have a glock mos cut if you still need a mounting plate
So the slide makes any brand of optic compatible?
No...thats the part im not getting the point of lol
Do the tensioning screws mar the coatings on the slide?
That's a good question unless they use a rubber coated bottom I would think they would ...great question hopefully someone answers this
It will but not much
This innovation sounds good to me because I have no MOS guns currently.
There are other companies that have been making these for years.
@@CP94sounds like a moot point
@@CP94 Who please?
@@Hanover_FistI have one on my Glock I don’t use anymore. It worked really well. Just Google it. That’s how I found mine.
@@Hanover_Fist Duek Defense
Make sure you get a quality adapter plate and the mount screws are tight. If not you'll be re zeroing every 30 rounds. I can't afford a $200 red dot, so I got a cheaper one (about $100) and just couldn't get it to hold zero. I got another one and had the same issue, so I just went back to the stock sights. This was on a Glock 45.
If you got 2 100 dollar dots, you had enough for a base level holosun 407.
Does this work with gen 3 Glocks?
yes
Not a fan of the dove tail mount. Didn't look right on my Glock 22 gen 4.
They work well though.
@@tiffnsniffcan’t work as good as milling the slide
This works for non MOS slides?
that’s kinda the whole point man
Can you guys ship slides to NY?
Yes, we can offer this service across the country as Glock slides/uppers are not regulated. It's always good to check your local laws before purchase, though.
@@glockstore good to know. Thanks!!! Love your channel.
Just MILL it for your specific sight......
I've never understood why optic mounts weren't built to slide into the dovetail to begin with...
Why does he look like a character from 28 days Later?
To many things to come loose
It sits to high for me. It works tho
With this plate you can't use your sights if your red dot is not working.
I find funny how he has to explain the simple words and terms such as "Universal". But as you know most people and the general public have to be spoken too as if they were a two year old child.
Any reason Glock can’t make all their guns optics ready? Why are they so far behind?
His right arm is significantly larger then his left arm.
It’s just don’t place a microwave on top of your gun 😂😂
a
Lenny, to be honest your optic and slide cuts are really expensive. Your market is for rich people. Us poors use Jagerworks, I hope you consider to compete and lower your prices so that every responsible gun owner can enjoy your products.
While they may be cheaper, their lead times are much longer and less predictable than our 10 Day Optics program and they also do NOT protect the cut area with any cold blue unless you select a finish that increases the cost significantly.
Thank you for engaging in conversation about this.
These don't hold zero in my experience
People, please don’t use these. Either get an Optics Ready slide or sent it off to get milled. These dovetail plates have always been garbage
I dont like this one. I've been using Dove Tail plates for years now, and I've never had to "lock down" a plate. I wouldn't trust more screws. Sounds like a night mare to figure out a red dot not in alignment.
How about no dove tails and just buy a new slide! Or get it milled dove tails are junk
Omg save your money and get the slide cut for the optic you want. Do your research please.
Please dont do this
Hey Lenny< Im gonna send my 19x in for a milling job. My only question is should I have it cut for the Ironsights to be co witness in front of the redot or behind?
Yea in front
@@bcoyoc16 thanks for the reply, I thought the front is the proper way.
