Alternatively, if there bandits near Anise’s cabin, get noticed by them, go to where the flawless emerald is, and go in to sneak mode. Be sure you’re well ahead of the bandits, that they’re still searching for you even though you haven’t been detected, the dots that are them are still around the vicinity. Did this by accident, managed to level up sneak high enough to get light foot, the 3x sneak archer damage perks, along with sneak up to 3/5.
If you put those timestamps in the description it makes chapters in the video bar
I think the default key to "automove" is C key (so you don't have to worry about getting a heavy object potentially damaging your beloved keyboard in the long run). Great video! 🎉
At that point you may as well just use the console, if you're already on PC. I mean the act of grinding to obtain it, some people might be like "well yeah but at least you earned it," earned what exactly? It's stats in a game.... If I had to choose between spending an hour grinding, or spending 30 seconds typing a console command, to get the same result, you bet I'm going to the console lol
You won't get level and perk points that way and using console for adding perks can be a pain in ass@@adamb89
It's just a means to play the game for longer; of course, you can console every stat and every OP item, but that will throw a huge portion of the game in the trash. Most you can do after that, is what? Play some quests that are too easy for your Mike Tyson character that you didn't work for, if that makes sense.
helpful for steam deck if true
@@adamb89my way of thinking is that if you cheat one thing in that you didn’t earn, what’s stopping you from cheating everything in, and if you have everything and there’s nothing left to work for, where’s the fun? Plus I want to be able to say I did something and if I cheat I didn’t actually do it. It’s a single player game so you can do what you want, but there is a reason to not cheat.
Imagine just standing outside of the mine doing guard-duty, because it's finally your turn, and you're tired of chipping rocks in a damp and cold cave, especially when it's really nice outside. So you're at the start of your shift, you hear nonsense in the far distance... kinda' sounds like thunder... then you see what you could swear is either the biggest bird you've ever seen, OR it's a dragon. Then half-an-hour later, a naked man comes running up out of nowhere, and beats you to death with his bare-hands. Hell, you've got an axe, and nothing - _NOTHING!_ - stops this lunatic. And as your dying, you can't help but wonder if there's some sort of connection between the day's events... did the dragon have anything to do with the mysterious, naked, invincible murderer??
Then your eyes close for the final time.
... only to be woken up by a man in the wagon saying, "You're finally awake...."
the guard looks like HHH
That was a fun read you should write more!
😂😂😂
Imperial soldiers carry daggers. If you loot the key from the imperial officer before Ralof does (focus her down and loot while Ralof is taking care of the soldier), you can quickly and safely get 100 Stealth in the first room of Helgen Keep.
I just did this too - fairly sure it takes less time (at the very least less traveling)
Also it raises your 1 handed to around 40ish
You can do the Sneak Attack version much earlier than High Hrothgar, on the NPC you follow from Helgen. Play through the intro, follow either Ralof or Hadvar, and when you get to the bear, and your "companion" is crouched down, equip an Iron Dagger and go to town on him. The first few levels may require you to duck behind a rock before activating Sneaking to get the Sneak Attack bonus, but once you have one perk point added, it should be just a case of continually slashing him. He gets staggered, but never dies and never aggros on you. Sneak goes from 15 to 100 in half an hour, and you will get One Handed levels as well. Once Sneak is maxed, kill the bear and off you go, level 17 right off the bat. This is the way... I start all my characters now. XD
I use the bear to lvl my Stealth afk by running into a wall near it while it's still sleeping, but I use the follower to lvl my weapon skills and Destruction
I try to minimize negative stats across all characters, so this wouldn’t work.
straight to the point, no blabbering, no ads, no self promo... man I love it here!
While escaping Helgen at the start before killing or sneaking past the bear that's where I level my sneak
Same here, and you can level one handed, two handed or even archery at the same time there as well.
I remember rubberbanding my controller in high school with oblivion. There was a room in the first dungeon out of the tutorial that was full of rats that couldn’t see you no matter what.
These methods are great, though they are soley useful if youve already got an existing character outside of the Helgen tutorial area.
If you havent left the cave at the end of the Helgen dungeon, then you take sorta take Ralof or Hadvar into a corner by a rock, crouch to sneak and repeat a similar process without fear of repercussion (as is the case with the Greybeards method). Theres maybe just a particular spot to get your ally to crouch into thats a little tedious at first but necessary to stop them from moving too much when being hit
There’s a slightly less safe, but easier to reproduce way using the bear. I always did it on console (xbox and switch) using tape and thread 8)
@@jmi967 assuming it's sneaking in place somewhere the bear can't see or reach you? Tho I think most people might prefer the safer method
@@Divesh98 There is the initial danger of getting caught. It’s mainly very early though I’ve never found the exact cutoff point where you can go fully AFK. There’s one spot that I found in the cave that works really well and I’ve always followed a pattern which is probably overkill before letting it go on its own. I’m pretty sure that a bunch of things are taken into account with the levelling speed including proximity, facing direction, speed of motion, and line of sight all seem to have an effect
@@jmi967 well that's cool that you found another method there! Probably would stick to the method I described but for anyone else reading these comments in future, might be nice to try to better describe where in the cave you do it.
Maybe ill even try it myself next time I'm playing (when the game stops breaking mods again with these recent updates)
This is how ive always did it but just when you enter the building, stop who ever you go with from progressing and just sneak attack them
The other reason to quicksave before the fast method is that if you hit them when you’re detected they will attack you and likely kill you. More importantly, if they attack you, you will never get to talk to them again.
They will talk to you again you just have to wait a few days. It used to happen all the time on ps3 when there was no quicksave
@@ShorkWasTaken They didn't for me on xbox. Maybe they changed it when they added quicksave or maybe I didn't wait long enough but it's a real bummer when it happens.
you can do the second one during the helgen escape by attacking whoever you chose to escape with
I've used it a few times. It just takes a lot longer since you don't have any xp bonuses before then
@@ShorkWasTaken That makes sense doiing it in high hrothgar definitely looked way faster I completely forgot about the thief stone,
Cool guide, I hope to see more guide like these quick and easy ways to level up a skill.
Sometimes its quite tiring and boring to level up some skills.
Your guides are immaculate, ty boss
Faster yet in the tunnel at the very beginning of the game, at the "sneak past the bear" portion, walk who ever you decided to join escaping into the water before the land bridge so they get pinned against it when you repeated back stab them. Set the diff. to legendary as shown here. Also can level 1 hand ( obviously ) and destruction. All before you ever start to explore Skyrim.
Another tip when leveling any skills, try to get rested or well rested buffs or whichever is the best xp buff in addition to the correct stone. For this, unlock High Hrothgar do the talky bits, then jump back to Ivarstead. Sleep 8+ hours in the Ivarstead inn (Vilemyr) then fast travel back to high hrothgar. The fast travel takes about 4 hours in game time, so you should have about 12 minutes of boosted XP from resting. Side note... If you're a werewolf you cannot get a rested bonus (just checked how long the fast travel time was in game and forgot I was doing the companion quest chain)
Doing the afk method? Maybe get a house and a spouse and kids in whiterun. Sleep in and get the buff, then run up to dragonsreach and your first ~24 minutes are boosted xp.
Sleeping can be a real time saver when leveling skills. 10% exp boost for well rested can save a bit of time or even gold (when smithing)
Just depends on where you're at on the character. After I finish my companion questline and stop being a werewolf, I'll rest at the Honeyside home in riften then run down to the master locked chest in the thieves guild and break ~150 lockpicks to level up.... I don't need ~250 lockpicks...
You can also do this in the beginning when you are escaping the dragon. Grab the key to open the door and keep hitting the guy you need to follow through the cave. You can get 1h and sneak to 100 pretty quickly as well.
Dragonsreach already has enough shady stuff in it with the whispering lady... Now it has a naked weirdo creeping in the corner for hours on end.
You can also do the sneak attack spam on Jarl Balgruuf during the Dragon Rising quest when he's leaned over on the table upstairs.
You can do that manual method on which ever soldier you decide to follow through the Helgen cave and have your sneak maxed out before you even exit the cave. Of course you wouldn't have the benefit of the thief stone that way though.
I think its silent moons camp, theres a bandit near a locked treasure room whos sitting with the key in her pocket, and a window nearby that lets you reach into that room. The whole hallway is pitch black and at lvl 1 you can just walk into the wall for a minute or so until your sneak goes up enough to actually sneak past the torch near her and put it out. Then you just open the nearby gate across from her chair and enter the jail cell and afk walk for about 4 minutes to get lvl 50 sneak. They cant "see" through the jail bars and with the jail door open she can never physically walk into you, being the only way left for her to "see" you.
Damn i love this channel. are you going to make a guide on all skills to 100?
That's my goal, along with useful tips and branching out to other games.
open console and type player.advskill .... done.... Or just download an actual modlist like Project Skyrim (advance installing knowledge) or nolvus (auto install for computer illiterates) Then don't cheat and actually enjoy skyrim as if it was made this year.
You can also do the backstab thing with hadvar or if you are a stinky stormcloak with rallof, in the part of sneaking past the bear at helgen, he will not move if you not, just put in legendary dificulty and stab the hell out of them
another good method is the tutorial ralof trick. just get to the bit with the bear, where he says "Wait a minute, there's a beeear up a head" , and start sneak attacking him. you can get max sneak, and he will never attack you, even if he detects you.
you can also (now that i think of it) use him to power level one handed, bows (not infinitely, since you will eventually run out of ammo), and destruction magic. (you can't really level anything else, since you won't have access to anything else at that point, unless you have a mod that adds stuff.)
Correct. But once you leave Helgen all of that disappears.
ive used afk sneak since morrowind and its normally something i set up before going to sleep. it takes around 4 hours to max sneak before finishing the tutorial and leaving the cave. ya that's so much better XD wish it worked in the earlier games.
In 4 hours you could go to High Hrothgar and legendary sneak at least 5 times.
@@ShorkWasTaken ya XD
good job, thanks for the video
Idk if it works on pc, nor if its any faster, but the way i have always leveled up sneak is before you even leave helgen. As soon as you go with ralof or hadvar (i usually go with ralof) take the key from the guards body to stop him from progressing, or dont loot the chests for hadvar if i remember correctly. Put your game into legendary so that they heal fast, and just sneak attack them. Before level 30 (i think) you have to time it, but after you can just spam attack and level up sneak.
I use the very begining of the Dark brotherhood quest in the kids house while i pledges to Dark mother. I always use a rubberband on the controller. I play on xbox also.
my personal favorite way is to beat the hell out of hadvar/ralof with daggers at the point in helgen with the bear
Use calm spell on enemy
Sneak attack with dagger
Use calm spell again
Sneak attack again
Repeat until godhood
And you level up ilussion as well. Interesting
the problem with this is that it also increases your level, which means the leveled enemies will be stronger as well, while you are still very weak, since your skills are unbalanced.
Sneak is the most broken skill in the game
I use my mic as my audio device and keep the zero latency monitoring enabled so I know if it's on or not. You eventually get used to hearing your own voice 24/7 lol
nice video
I always do the same process, but right when you get the sword, in helgen keep. Just dont open the door, and hit Hadvar like this for about 25 minutes, and it's done.
Fast way is to do what you did to the gray beards but to your follower in the cave in the prolog right after they mention the bear. Sneak behind them and keep stabbing with the dagger. It builds sneak and one hand. Put it on the highest difficulty so they take less damage and can do it longer before having to let their health build back
nice guide. Any tips for alchemy, enchanting, and one-handed?
Yeah, have videos on all of them
@ShorkWasTaken baller I'll check em out.
Thank-you!
The guide was awesome! What does AFK mean?
Away from keyboard
Good stuff!
You can do this in the Helgen caves with the bear.
{:o:O:}
I just did the greybeard sneak exploit and found out that if you manage to swap difficulties and run away from the greybeards and go do something else for a while their agression gets reset and you can go back to the exploit
You can afk level your stealth to 100 before leaving helgen. Takes a while, but it works just fine. Crouch into sneak mode, park yourself facing a wall in the bear cave and - on PC - use the auto walk key (c by default). Then just go watch tv or play on your phone or what not. You just have to be careful to make sure you're walking into the all in a stable spot far enough from the bear that you don't wake it up, but close enough that you get sneak xp: and also - a spot that you won't begin to slide along the wall towards or away from the bear, otherwise you'll have either wasted your time or got too close to it and it will murder you while you're afk.
You can get 100 sneak without the Bear in Helgen it's the grey beards method but its in Helgen
I wonder if you can sleep in Helgen if you can then you got the well rested buff if I remember correctly there's beds there
No
Ivarstead has an Inn. The fast travel to High Hrothgar is about 4 hours, so you lose half the time on the rested buff, but 10 mins should max you out.
"ugh... Air freshener..." 🤣🤣🤣
What I want to see is a Restoration guide to 100 in under 30 minutes. That skill is so tedious to max, even with the mystic tuning gloves. Do you have a Restoration guide?
turn undead and the reanimate spells on drauger or skeleton. you probably already figured it out by now lol but yeah i always hated leveling resto.
btw, manual method still work after latest patches(either official and unofficial)?
in markarth city there is was 2 chest (Hidden under ground,, First gate u spawn). even i see it but i can't reach it.
You could in theory, wield a dagger in one hand a heal other resto spell in the other and stab, stab, stab, stab, heeeeeeeeeal. repeat.
u r cool. ty
What happened to Ralof or Hadvar?
{:o:O:}
you forgot to sleep for 8 hrs in a bed, would be faster. Plus you go up the mountain until the weather stops you, equip healing and walk in the storm and keep healing.
I just didn't care enough
You can get 100 sneak before leaving Helgan
Maxed and shes still fuckin takin hits
Since xp is higher with a higher dmg, why do you set difficulty to novice? That only means it takes longer to increase xp, right..?
The players damage does not increase with difficulty increase. Everyone else gets more health and does more damage. I use novice in tutorials just to make it go by faster but increase the difficulty when needed, Such as sneak attacking the greybeards I have it set to legendary so they have more health and I do less damage. In my more recent videos I go over how XP is earned for the skills so people can get better ideas of what to do if they don't want to do what I recommend. I plan on returning to my first few skill videos eventually and going more in depth with them.
Well you don't really need the dagger, you can use your fists.
Did u quick save without goin in the menu if so which key is that?
On pc quicksave is F5 and quickload is F9
Only problem with this is by the time your done all the enemies are harder to kill cause your wespons and armor are dudu caca
As long as you're sneaking and have a dagger then the dagger will do 16x its damage.
@@ShorkWasTaken true also my grandma would watch me play Skyrim and Everytime I did that to the grey beards she would get annoyed
Does the last method train weapons too?
It will but hitting a horse would be faster to achieve and overall more effective since they never agro towards you
How long do I have to wait if I’m level 80?
A long time. I personally do the Greybeard way just because it's the quickest.
Which corner gives me archery 100?
Aela
Or just go with Ralof, kill the imperial captain first and loot the key immediately, kill the other imperial and loot his dagger, wait for Ralof to position himself right in front of the very first locked gate in the game, turn the difficulty to legendary difficulty and start attacking him with your axe until you reach level 2, spend that perk to the first sneak perk, enter sneak mode and mindlessly attack him with your dagger (equipped in the right hand of course) while listening to some youtube podcast or something.
Get 100 sneak in the very first room of helgen keep.
Make the sneak skill legendary to do it again if you want some extra perks.
Is there no Auto-Move on Console?
{:o:O:}
No
Make sure to get the backstab trait as soon as you can, because you get more XP the more damage that you do.
You get the same amount of xp regardless of how much damage you do.
@ShorkWasTaken Idk about that, I remember farming skill points by using a 200+ damage dagger and just maxing out and reseting sneak skill every 3-5 hits or so. This was years ago, maybe it has been patched?
It's not much easier to simply stand on Ralof's back when he follows you in the turial. In the bear part, you set the difficulty to the maximum and you dedicate yourself to making attacks in stealth and thus you avoid having to go to Whiterun and to where the gray beards, you can do the same and increase the skill of one-handed or two-handed swords, it is the only part where a follower will not attack you if you hit him
AFK = ???
What do you mean?
AFK = Away from keyboard
If you turn the difficulty to legendary and sneak attack Ralof for about 10 minutes you can have sneak and one handed maxed before leaving helgen. He wont attack you back and on legendary he heals faster than you can damage him.
Yea you're not maxing out one-handed in 10 minutes. This also isn't possible once you leave helgen.
@@ShorkWasTaken true on the second point, but on the first I've done it myself.
When ralof stops to tell you "there's a bear ahead, see her?" He stops in place and waits for you to either walk around the bear, in which case he'll follow you, or aggro it, in which case he'll fight it with you. But if you instead stay behind him and sneak attack him with a dagger, it levels you incredibly quickly. At first you have to pause a few seconds between swings, because he detects you when you hit him, but once your sneak goes up you can go absolute ham and every hit will be a sneak attack, which due to the damage bonus daggers get means your one handed goes up faster too.
Give it a try if you don't believe me☺ and I hope you see a beautiful flower today🌻
There is a much easier way
11:40 thanks.-Ernie Moore Jr.
bro u can just lvlup ur sneak to 100 at helgen dungeon by stabbing the dude that u followed using dagger would be faster :/
And what about people that have already left Helgen and don't want to restart and would like the bonus from the thief stone to save time?
@@ShorkWasTaken how about stabbing shadowmare? that work for me
@piplion9264 getting shadowmere takes longer than meeting the greybeards. He will also occasionally stop following you, but the greybeards are always at High Hrothgar
@@ShorkWasTaken welp at this point its up to the player what their nxt move XD
thats a 3 good way to lvl it up ~ gray beard - helgen or shadowmare🤣🤣🤣🤣
You don't need to put a heavy object on your key. C is the auto run key.
Just do this to ralof in the bear spot
That requires a brand new character.
wait... 12 minute manual for afk setup? I'd rather just play the game
