- This soap is my entry for the April 2020 Soap Challenge hosted by Amy Warden, the tall and Skinny Shimmy.
Welcome to I Dream In Soap, This video shows I made my Tall and Skinny Shimmy cold process soap. My inspiration was the inside of a beehive, so I made tiny been embeds to sit inside the honey colour cells.

Although my cold process soap making tutorials are of a tutorial nature, they are intended for people who have a good understanding of making cold process soap. The information given is based on what works for me, however, there are lots of variables associated with cold process soap making and I therefore, take no responsibility for the results achieved when using the techniques or methods explained in these tutorials. Cold process soap involves the necessary use of sodium Hydroxide (lye) which is a very dangerous substance. Before attempting and cold process soap making you should ensure you are fully aware of the lye safety procedures and always wear the correct safety equipment when making soap.

What a nifty idea! I would've been too scared to even consider an embed. It actually made me really nervous to watch the first one go in. I knew it was going to turn out beautifully because I'd seen the pictures, but I couldn't help thinking it was going to distort your shimmy. Beautiful work!
Oh believe me I had every expectation of having to scrap it and make a second attempt, I deliberately measured them so they would fit easily, which was why they were so tiny. Then I just popped them in. covered them over and hoped. The 1st one actually went in a bit wonky, so on some of the bars the lower down bee is higher or lower, but i didn't dare move it and shift the batter. Like you I was expecting them to cause some distortion in the batter but they didn't. It was definitely an 'oh my goodness me, it worked' moment when I cut it. I actually cut the 1st two bars, was all excited so I then ran with them into the lounge to show Paul ( I had said to him just before, I'm going to cut my soap, but I'm probably going to have to make another one), I then had to come back and finish the rest of the cut.
I Dream In Soap Oh I know exactly what you mean! That was me cutting my landscape soap in January. I was thinking there was no way it was going to turn out well, and it ended up being one of my best soaps. I'm so happy for you that it went so well! 😍
