42 years ago I met my lovely wife and Jimmy Edwards on the same night at a dance in Waco, Tx. R.I.P. my brother, the Angels are really singing in heaven now.
Every time he came to the Camelot in the middle 70's. My girlfriend's and I would go see him. We'd stand in front of the stage for the first few song's. My favorite Tejano singer. My son-in-law Carlos Saenz of the Latin Express band of Fort Worth backed him up a few times. ❤
I was suppose to go to this concert but I got tasked to deploy. I was so heartbroken because I wanted him to sign my albums that I’ve collected over the years. I’ve been listening to him ever since I was a little boy with my grandpa. Now I’m 20 and the love i have for his voice and music just can’t compare. My friends were going to take me to go meet him when I came back but I found God had other plans! Thank you Jimmy for the countless classics and great memories you gave us to enjoy your music! Heaven is about to have the biggest concert! Rest In Heaven and we will keep your music going from here!
I always listen to Jimmy Edwards around the holidays because it reminds me of my mom that past away. She loved Jimmy Edwards. I didn't know his son's played & sang his music. I love it!
This man was the greatest tejano singer ever. He will never ever be forgotten, from the Latin Breed days to his solo tejano and christian music days, his music will live on forever. I was so privileged to play drums with Jimmy a few times many years ago, it was truly the greatest.

What an experience of being there to witness the masterminds of Tejano, and all coming to record the most memorable Tejano music that still lives today in 2022! I first met Jimmy Edward when I was a DJ on KUKA radio in San Antonio in the late 70s. Jimmy popped in one afternoon and was just as nice as could be. He was already popular and was about to become even more so with his first solo album. He made my day and I'll always remember his wonderful voice. His family is obviously and understandably proud of their Dad. Thanks for the Memories.

I was going through UA-cam to listen to some Tejano music and I came across this video and saw the comments and I didn't know jimmy Edwards had passed away. My condolences to the family. But I remember when I was going to the dances here in Austin,Texas back in 1965 through 1969 listing to all the Tejano groups. In 1969 I was drafted into the US Army and went to Vietnam in 1970 through 1971 and remembering hot Tejano dances I went to and I could hear all the Tejano music in my head a memories I had while we were going through the jungle and the white boys will listen to all the the rock and roll and the blacks listen to the Motown but I would also listen to those sounds along with them. But I'm going to say one thing we Tejano, Mexican-American ,Chicanos, other name they call us, but we were so young & brave out there in the jungle nobody gives us credit but if you were there you know how it was so let's be proud and thankful to God that some of us came back and others didn't but they gave it all, to my Mexican American Brother's
I salute you with a broken heart and to my Mexican-American Brothers that died there. Their names are on the Vietnam Wall in Washington DC what an honor your names will live on forever and ever and for us that are left will just be buried and one day be forgotten but will be in the history books just our names will be missing. And that's what got me through Vietnam all the memories of the Tejano music and the dances and the Beautiful Girls and the Tejano groups Little Joe and the latinaires Sunny Ozuna and the sunliners, Augustine Ramirez, Freddy Martinez, Joe Bravo, Jimmy Edwards, and on and on so many other groups and thank you for the beautiful music. rest in peace mr. Jimmy Edwards I'll always remember listening to your music,thank you sir. And thank you to all Mexican American veterans from yesterday to today and stay strong and brave and when it comes to fighting don't look back just keep going forward. God bless
