Exploring the Dying light Demo

- In this video I look back at the long forgotten demo for Dying Light 1.
Unfortunately this demo was taken off the marketplace on all platforms a couple years back so only people who already own the demo can play this version of Dying Light.
In the video I didn't show off co-op (Because no one plays the demo lol) however if I remember correctly it was the exact same as the full game with the only difference I remember being that airdrops glitch out and have double supplies.

I had an exact route planned after a good 30 times of playing the demo, and would run that route way too many times to try and see how much I could get done in the demo time they gave, shit was awesome
I never got a ps4 until 2017 but a year or two later I got the xbox one and I remember my brother getting it in GameStop for 30 never will forget that

Same. But that's because I just wasn't aware of the game at the time. I only heard of this game around the time it came out in January 2015 and played the full game shortly after the release date.

I remember I’ve read that the demo was only temporarily on the ps store, I had only a ps3 back then and I tracked the game development, and for those who don’t know, this was dropping also on PS3 and X360 until the end of development they decided to simply throw away the ps3 and x360 version. And I got the demo on my account since I had a cousin with a ps4 abroad country, once I got my hands on a ps4 which was practically 2019 I could play the demo, as well the game full edition

nah it was on there foreverr maybe not now but a longgg time i have it in my library i used to gameshare with friends and at one point when it was bugging out he forced us to all play the demo so we could play cause we couldn’t all get on the full game at once 😭.
Yeah they had to drop the last gen versions due to performance issues and the last gen hardware wasnt helping that games much
This is a tad off-topic, but I’d be super interested to see the cancelled PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Dying Light. If I remember correctly, those versions were cancelled a month before the game launched. I’m not sure if any details or footage of those versions were shown either but I could be wrong; I didn’t follow the game before it released

I think TheRadBrad has a video of him playing the ps3 or 360 version on his channel, I think it looks different to the one we have now and maybe more laggy than usual but it's been a while since I've seen it haha
@@jamesmcmoore5434 I can't find it on TRB channel but i did found footage from ps3 on SinisterXSnipex channel (if it's even legit), i wonder why they didn't release it on ps3 but they did release 2 on ps4 in literally unplayable state

This is the game that got me to upgrade to PS4 from PS3. I remember when it was first announced for PS3 but then techland chose rightly not to release it on ps3, unlike cod bo3 on ps3. I've just restarted the story again for the 2nd time in 9 years and these first 20 odd hours seem more of a grind now.
This is a crazy nostalgic video for me so much so that I just typed out something😂 I guess I just wanted to share my experience with the demo.
I had a PS3 and played games like OG Dead Island and The Last Of Us so when Dying Light came out, It essentially looked like every single aspect that could’ve been improved from Dead Island and kinda the whole zombie genre was done better and in a unique way. The movement was always my biggest issue with OG Dead Island and how you constantly had to wait for stamina to run. Dying Light was an entire Parkour game + there was 2 separate stamina bars for Parkour and Combat. The TLOU player in me can appreciate the attention to the realism, not only with the graphics (which were phenomenal and still are) but the fact that you are Running instead of fighting most times is awesome. Like I cannot praise Dying Light Enough, it is one of the most straight up fun games ever made.
I remember wanting the game for ever but there was no PS3 version so I thought I was gonna have to wait until I had a PS4 to play it. To my delight, my old shitty laptop could “run” the FREE Dying Light demo on like 20 fps. Needless to say, I played that demo into the ground regardless of how choppy the game was, I couldn’t have cared. It was so fun to just run around and explore. My Brother and I eventually got a PS4 for Christmas with Red Dead Redemption 2 which is another absolutely GOATed game on PS4, but I instantly hopped on Amazon or eBay to finally order Dying Light. And boom, that was like 8-9 years ago, and I’m still playing this game every once in a while.
Thank you to the person who made this video to help me reminisce about playing this hidden gem. It was weirdly emotional😂 I just woke up😂

Man I remember playing this demo everyday just slaying zombies and parkouring I wanted to get the grapple hook but it was impossible a couple of days ago I remember how much fun I actually had while playing it and I started crying about it, just remembering how easier it was being a kid and how fun it was is crumbling. I am glad I had the opportunity to play the demo because it really paved a way for my love of the whole series.

i always wanted to play the old dying light version which pewdiepie played in his first video, its so different
i got dying light enchanced for free on epic games, it was my childhood dream to play this, i struggled but i made it through the campaign, this game is insanely fun, i still play it to this day
Back in the day I used to mod the Demo and if I Remember right, by unlocking all outfits you can see earlier designs of certain outfits, and some that (I think) are not in the final game

Used to play this all the time back on ps4 when i had no games and had to play all the demos. The glitch jumping from a rock brings back so many memories, specifically the part turning grey. u could also use that place to noclip out of the map to get past the boundary and explore to the bridge area from getting pounced by a volitle in the right spot

I remember playing this when I was a kid back in 2015 I used to hide in the safe zone and play with randoms and my friends.. the good old days and you’d only get an hour to play so I’d keep restarting the game.
I also own this demo on my old account so I am able to play it but I now own the full game so I wouldn’t need to.

in the settings of the demo, there isn't a graphic setting or eye-tracking setting.

Unfortunately no, the only way to play the demo now is if you already got it back when it was on the marketplace (around 2015 to 2017 If I recall correctly)

2015 i probably had around 30 hours on this demo lol. made a new account for the 2 day playstation plus so i could play online and bam 12 year old me was happy.

unfortunately you cant unless you already owned it before Techland took it off the marketplace. The only reason I could play it in 2024 was because I got the demo on my Xbox back in 2016. hope this was helpful :)

DL2 is out yet DL1 has more better stuff than DL2 like flashlight, dynamic map, day and night cycle, better blood, better physics, better ui
