Oh Sarah baby, please don't stress over the house. In 20 years you won't have babies to cuddle but you'll still have a house to clean. Enjoy them and f the house, advice from a Granny x x❤

All Grannys are right...those babes grow so fast and once you go through menopause, you realize how much you miss your babies.. its different once their grown. No cuddles and bed bouncing.. you're still close and love them immensely, and so proud of the adults they have turned into. You'll find out...don't blink!!

Marriage is not 50/50 it is 100/100. In our marriage we decided never go to bed angry and without a kiss, and --eweee- only fight naked and holding hands. It was great when we were young. Been married 45 years- it is hard not to laugh. We pick our battles. Talk, talk, talk to each other. You guys are amazing.

Absolutely true! Married 30 yrs here and talk, talk, talk it out. Holding hands, date each other always, don’t go to bed angry. Someone actually said at our wedding to fight naked! 😂 Three kids… do the math on the fights😉 My husband just said it at our son’s and daughter in law’s reception in his speech. Derek take it easy…my daughter had this surgery and is just back to work. Be careful with your body, after 30- it doesn’t bounce the same anymore!

Don’t be too hard on yourself Derek, ‘this too shall pass’. You guys are a great team, and you’re in it for the distance. Right now Sara has more of the load, but when you’re healed you can give her a good break, and over the course of your life together, you will be blessed to support each other many times. 😊❤

Even happy couples could use marriage counseling. Fighting fair. Learning clear communications. Compromise.
Every marriage can use tune ups. Take the time to make your marriage a priority.

Guys, it is so good to hear from you again! I realize just how tough it has the last six weeks for you BOTH. Please keep in mind that six weeks from now, things will get progressively easier. Wow, moving into your own home, while one of you is convalescing from major surgery and trying to keep up with two little one’s! You guys inspire me. Hang tough and hopefully we can hear from you two again soon.

Each day will get easier and easier from here now derik!! Sara I understand girl, if I’m not organized then I don’t feel like my mental health is striving! When I moved I would take 2-4 boxes a day and at least get those organized but of course you set a goal that works for you!! Y’all will get through the other side of this and it will all be worth it ❤

Lack of sleep when your children are young is brutal. I think if Sarah could have 24 hours away from the house where she can have uninterrupted sleep, it would make all the difference in the world for her and them as a family.

Sarah I want to say I am so sorry that you lost your big sister I lost 2 sons in a 9 year period and I just love how you express your feelings and love your babies extra special!! You guys and Tanner and Lauren's family are so inspiring and fun and upbeat! I also love Matt and Abby! Keep doing what you're doing and CONGRATULATIONS on the new house! Sunny is developing so quickly.. She's a little firecracker 🧨. So cute. Jack and Sunny will be such good buddies when she's walking. You're actually putting your house together pretty quickly. I've seen others move in and it's taking forever for them to get it all done. It's always a work in progress when you own a home. At least you have one advantage, you don't have to remodel anything, unless you want to.

It's also a great way to connect

I've missed you! So good to see you all! My hubby and I have been together since 1973, we married in 1979. One thing I can say throughout our marriage is this- "This too, shall pass!" We go through seasons, and when we are through that season, we think on it and talk through what worked and what didn't. We learned from each other. Take the social media break you need, family first! After so many years together, we get to look back and sometimes when we have a little bump in the road, (like when our youngest didn't sleep through the night for three years!) we look at one another and say "is it as bad as Kate not sleeping through the night for three years? And then we laugh because that was the worst, And we lived through it! Sarah, I'm praying Sonny begins to sleep through the night.🙏💕

Fight for each other and fight to show each other in small ways that you are there for each other. I'm sure this has been mentioned, but you two have similar moral values and life goals. People think compalabilty comes from having similar hobbies, personal interests, and other arbitrary wants.
But, just because you like hiking, but your partner loves swimming, it doesn't make you incompatable.
You are your own person, even in a relationship. You don't give up your identity just because it doesn't readily mash with someone else.
As long as you have similar goals for life, i.e. marriage, kids, house. And, agree morally on how to achieve those goals, and a similar time line, then the fact you have the same favorite movie, food, or sports team is just a bonus.

Hi I just wanted to tell Derick, I totally understand, I had major lower back surgery 1 year ago. They had to lift 3 levels of my back…I never saw this coming. I was devastated….it took me a long time to recover and I couldn’t walk for many months…I would cry, I was so emotional. Then 6 months after they told me I had to have 2 of my cervical spine lifted….. I did’t even want to hear surgery but I did it…I am getting better now….but I totally understand the feeling of not being useful….because I keep my house very clean and it made me so sad that I couldn’t do it… you both are doing a great job…don’t ever give up….even when the going gets tough….proud of you both!!

Social media is terrible. I stay off it as much as possible. When it comes to my relationship with my wife, we prioritize our relationship over the kids (yes, we still love them) but our relationship is what keeps the family together and we always make time for each other. So many couples forget this when kids are involved. You're a wife 1st, mother 2nd, this is how everyone in my family has done it and has always been successful.
I think broadcasting yourself, children and life online is a difficult and foolish thing to do.

I'm really happy to say this as well. My Mother told me this many, many years ago! I am 84 yrs old now but it stuck in my mind for all these years. It doesn't mean the children are neglected. It simply means your husband is most important in your relationships. You should hear the reactions I get if I say this! So many women say their kids come first, and many men feel very left out when this happens. They seem to feel the wife only "used" them to have babies then kind of forgot them. So sad.

    Hey guys,
My 12yo son and I are currently living in our car. It is not an ideal situation, one I NEVER could have imagined. Although I know it won't be forever, when you're in a hard moment, time seems to slow down.
So please know, that everything that we go through is not just for a season, but for a reason.
I know my son will one day look back at this time and remember all the good things that were born from this challenging time.
Just like Sara, Derik and the kids will look back on this time with fondness, laughter and gratitude.
May God continue to bless you and your family.

I agree re thinking about not taking risks. You have to think on 3 other lives that are leaning on you to live. When you actually get old those aches and pains will come back to haunt you, and believe me aches and pains can make you very grumpy. Getting old is not fun for injuries sustained in your youth.

What I find works best for me and my partner is to just tell each other what percentage we are able to give when we get home. We are both postal workers so some days neither of us have much left but we do our very best. Some days you’re the windshield and some days your the bug, your partner has your back when you need it.

Derick put a roll of paper towels near the sink. 1 paper towel, a little water and wipe the sink. 5 seconds and wow no more hair in the sink! And a smile on your wifes beautiful face❣❣ Little things mean so much💙🦋💙

I keep a small square cloth on my countertop, and I wipe off all the water spots 1-2 times a day. It keeps it looking super clean, and it gets up all the hair too. Once a week, I wipe it down with disinfectant (thyme oil spray) and switch out the cloth.

You're COMPLETELY normal!!! Many going through what you are going through. I live with my Ex Husband and help him after his mini stroke in 2021. I have to remind myself to take care of myself and poor health too. We're going to family therapy to better help one another and to help build better independence. We have spats but always make up. BFF'S since 1988. 😊 You're going to get through this.

I love your family, and I hope you always love you too! Remember if God leads you to it, he'll leads you through it. When angry, remember the moment you knew in your heart you were in love. Look through those eyes at eachother, hug and let go of anger. Anger and frustration are the devil pinching you. This advise from a woman married for 34 years, until death do us part. Mike passed on 7/28/2016. I loved him til his last breath. Sunny is the most strikingly beautiful baby I've seen since my baby girl was born and that age. God love you and hold onto eachother. No one said it'd be easy but you're DOING it! Yea YOU!

Sarah! I can relate to you so much! There are so many similarities btwn you and Derick and my husband and myself! My husband is exactly like Derick and I am so much like you!! Seeing the way you handle everything, how loving and how strong you are for your family truly inspires me! I also love the way you display such peace and composure through it all! That is something I am really working on. I love my husband so much and get so concerned when it comes to the physical adventures he embarks on! My husband is awesome at almost everything but I want him to be safe!! That’s my number one concern!! His safety! Very similar to you I want my husband to have a higher level of caution! Thanks for sharing life and inspiring other women to grow in strength and love for their family!❤❤❤

I love you all and omg, that was Stella! I feel like, the last time that I saw her she was a baby! When this started, I was like good thing y'all have The Lord firstly, and Tanner and Lo! Much love to you all! Prayers for your recovery!🙏🦵 and Sarah's sleep deprivation 🥱

Although I’m pretty sure after Covid and working from home and 2 babies that’s why my son and DIL couldn’t wait to go back to part time ea. in office work. They’re fortunate to have had 3 months paid paternity and maternity leave .Now they share 1/2 and 1/2 and a her mom helps! Be kind be patient and lean on each other for what you need.

Glad to hear you're settling in well and Derrick is on the mend. I don't think anyone would be surprised or offended to not see any content from you for a while. The amount of stress from a huge move with little ones, potty training, sleep training, unpacking, setting things up, regular daily chores and appointments... then add social media upkeep... that's a heck of a lot on one's plate. Take it easy, take a breather and take in all that you have to be thankful for. You deserve it. Hope next post we can see Derrick feeling better, and up and moving more... God knows Sarah could use the extra set of hands 😉, but most of all, I hope you can connect as a family in your own privacy and enjoy all these big changes together ❤

Good to see your beautiful faces!! Sarah I am so with you, so glad you survived the first 6 weeks!! I don't have little ones to chase but still run for my kids when they need me! Lol! My husband had double hernia surgery 2weeks later his appendix burst!! They had to do emergency surgery! After he got home 2days later we had to rush him back to the hospital for another emergency and they put a drain tube in and heavy iv antibiotics!! 🥺 He went back to work Monday!! I just pray 🙏🙏🙏 this nightmare is over and we can get back to normal!! 😮😅🤪👍 Derek put some paper in the sink and spray and whipe after!! I lived with 3 hairy sons + my hubby and it drives me crazy 😧🤬🤯 Much love ❣️ I see a spa day in your future!!!

3 years ago I had knee surgery. Acl replacement and meniscus repair. Worst surgery ever. It took me forever to bend my knee, learn to walk again, or be able to get on the floor and back up. Take your time and heal. Also, Sarah needs a day to rest.

I was just looking for a new video from y’all (even though I have the notifier on, I still look. Lol). Six weeks seemed like six years, and the timing of the surgery was unfortunate but like Sarah said, it’s all up from here. Keep going to PT and doing the exercises. It’s been obvious in the videos since the surgery how tough this has been on all of you, but it sounds like the worst is behind you. The next 6 weeks won’t be as bad as the last. Derik, take it easy though. Can only imagine how tough it’s been to sit it out, but if you overdo it now, that’ll probably be in the same category as doing something foolish. What I’m hearing is that the biggest help for Sarah will be for you to help with the kids.
You two need a weekend away together, then Sarah needs a few days with her girlfriends.
