    That looked like a slippery and sticky situation! Nice recovery. It's always good when you have the tools and ability to self recover when you're off road.

      Thanks! It was great to practice a good self recovery. The front hitch recovery point has been really important for our offroad adventures.

    I think you found the limits of the toyo's ! Nice work on the recovery.

      They aren't great in mud, but they do better than I would imagine base on their looks. We actually did pretty well on the obstacle course. Stay tuned!

    I don't think even a good mud swap tire would have saved the day here. What a mucky mess that was. But that winch certainly impressed. Nice save.

      I think my taller MTs would have helped, but I am not sure I would have made it without the winch. The new AT tires are so quiet and they are wearing so well!

      @@GotterAdventure It's really tough to say what kind of tire would have helped or hurt giving that particular situation. That was some nasty stuff. But the recovery gear saved the day for sure. And I can attest to how those tires you have now wear like iron and have good road manners. But their off-road capabilities are fair at best in soft mud. Dropping the pressure down to 14 psi does help a little.

    Is it okay to go off-road with a Honda Pilot even though it has a unibody construction instead of a frame body?

    • @GotterAdventure
      @GotterAdventure  Місяць тому +1

      @@user-eh6oy4eq4z if you are willing to pay the consequences any vehicle can be driven off road. My Pilot does pretty well, but I still have to replace axles, bushings, and wheel bearings from time to time. The Unibody has held up fine other than the rear body rot issue.
