That view at the end was certainly worth the effort. The lookout post at the top of the bunker looked well built, thanks for all your effort and sharing the results with us.
The opportunity to fall into a trench or a deep ravine seems to be a real danger in the lush area you are walking through! I think those barbed wired posts were there to keep someone from falling into that tunnel entrance! Wow, all that barbed wire still left on that hilltop! Crazy! What an amazing view from atop the hills! What a climb of the hill side! How did you get across the ravine? Beam from a bridge? Thanks for taking us along guys!!
yes i agree , that place is pretty dangerous some places. I guess the Germans kept it tidy and maybe even cut the grass to have trails leading into the different positions. We had to climb the ravine. EE did so well there and just my inspiration. Thanks so much for your FANTASTIC support and greetings from us :)
Just love these explores when you guys find things like the barbed wire posts still in place after all this time, and those hidden bunkers, that probably very few, if any, other people know about. That climb up to the Firing Control Bunker looked tough, really tough, so thank you guys for making the effort to get there, and show us that spectacular view. You could certainly see why they put it there. I probably would have just said "no way' and left it at that. So great work getting there! You might find that steel beam you found came from whatever was blown up, probably after the war, further down. Could be that's how they got rid of some of the ammo from the guns. Stuck it all in one bunker and lit the fuse. Thanks again for sharing this incredible location! Looking forward to seeing what other amazing places you found on the Tour! Cheers to you both! Stay Safe, and Stay Positive!
It is so interesting to see all the details there still in the ground. Barbed wire , fuel drums , bunkers and more , just love it. Beam was very strange as it was bent and twisted and i wonder how it came there. Thanks my friend and we send our greetings from us.
I do say that they did have a spectacular view!!! Too bad the bunker was not open. And yes, they prob did have a "tunnel" or such to access that control bunker. Man, that was great to see and awesome job guys on getting up there!!!
Great photo showing the sections of the narrow railroad. I’ll go back later to take a better look. You both have to be in pretty good shape to tackle a lot of these adventures like this one. It appears a lot of the locations the German chose were not only about defending the area but about the difficulty for the enemy would have trying to over run these locations. Seeing the barb wire still there is a testament as to how well these things were made. Great location with beautiful views.
This was pretty tough to be honest Anthony. Not for EE but for me :) Yes it would be very difficult to take this position. Thanks for being here and more to come :)
Man, that was a lot of hiking you two did! Some great sites there. The apparent barracks bunker was interesting! Love that narrow track railroad beam. For some reason I went "I would love to have that!" Of course, without the ants! 😆 Sucks that you put your hand into that one ants' nest as you were working your way to the site. So glad you two went on this trip and brought us along. It's definitely been worth all the donations I sent.
Wow what an amazing site this turned out to be! The views are spectacular from the very top of the F&C bunker. Though I doubt in winter many would have wanted to be on duty up there 🤣 Shame that they filled in the entries but perhaps they also tried to blow it up like the little one you found and felt that it wasn't able to be done and now extra unsafe so they buried them. Can't wait to see where you and EE bring us next! Stay healthy friends ❣
Yes quite some scary drops there down to the ocean. Tons of interesting things to see and loved to share that with you JuleyC. EE had so much fun there and he is so strong climbing those hills like nothing at all. Thanks so much from us and appreciate your INCREDIBLE support on the tour. Greetings and keep smiling :)
Most excellent, well worth the wait for part two. I always watch your videos all the way through, so I thank you both for your hard work and your inspiration to EE for wanting to share WWII history. As always " Good Hunting "
Thank history hunter and eagle eyes for doing the leg work this is a very exciting adventure I get very excited when you guys post a new video I hope that you and your history hunting family are doing well
Another amazing video. Thanks for taking us along to see history and awesome scenery. It is nice to see, it is just so hard to believe how much time was invested in the construction of these bunkers, tunnels, trenches and caves. Its so cool to see some of the operational components still at these sites as well. Thanks again, keep smiling and take care.
This tour must have been named for this position...challenging, indeed! But such a beautiful area. It's a shame the firing control bunker was closed, but the view on top was worth all your hard work!❤
Yes this was a VERY tough hike out there and it took all we had to do all of it there. We wanted so much to see inside the FCB but so sorry we could not share that. Thanks SO much for your great support and more to come soon. Take care and keep smiling :)
Another great video. The scenery is always so breathtaking. It's a shame they've closed off the bunker. I'm sure the internal layout would have been intriguing. And in the winter, it's not a place you'd want to be careless. The conditions could be life-threatening. This complex, along with the others in the area, all interconnected, would have been quite a sight.
yes what a view there and loved the details. Was a bit scary with a 40 + meter cliff here and there. Glad we could share that with you and thank YOU for your great support :)
This was a tough day for you two. You covered some pretty rough terrain to show us all this, and I appreciate it! Can you imagine being up top at the FC bunker in Winter? That had to suck for those guys.
Sorry, I went out of town, and then found I was unsubscribed. Okay now. Went to Paris, (Texas) then to Atlanta Georgia for a week, and then to Tennessee Valley Texas. I will be watching on a regular basis again now. Missed you guys.
Sounds wonderful and to travel is so much fun and one learn quite a bit traveling. Hope you had a great time and welcome back to sharing history in a great way :)
Ah ha ! I found it ! only took me about 5 hours of searching and something told me that this part 2 video would shed some light on it for me ! Outstanding video guys and the VIEW ! just WOW ! Really is sad that they sealed off the entrances because I would bet that there was a pretty extensive tunnel system there ! I've mentioned it before and I'm surprised that you haven't done it yet , but to invest in some tall rubber boots or even some waders that can be rinsed off so that they dont smell up the camper van , Just imagine what you could have seen inside the flooded cave ! You might have even found some dry areas in there and who knows what else ! On to the next explore . . . Patiently waiting . Would be interesting to see some of the Torpedo Batteries around here as well , I'll have to look around and see if I can spot any . Stay safe and Healthy , Your Friend Mike
Such a great place. Well my friend we actually have waders but here is the thing. Being out there , enduring pretty tough areas to walk in we rarely use them as they are so heavy and we often already carry heavy packs with list of water , food , flashlights etc etc. They , in a way , dont justify carrying around for like 15 000 clicks a day , just to heavy and bulky. But , we do use them sometimes in dedicated explores. There will be a torpedo batteri explore coming with some INCREDIBLE underground explores. You will love that :) Thanks from us :)
@@WW2HistoryHunter Yes , I thought of that after writing my comment , All the weight you already carry plus the physical stress you endure and not knowing if you would need them or not makes perfect sense , Tall rubber boots would be an option although a bit cumbersome and slightly heavy . I also wanted to add in my comment , I wonder how many others take the time to search AND find the places you go , I've never seen anyone mention that in their comments , and I do read almost all of them . Any way be safe out there and stay strong ! As always , Mike 😉
@@Radikul71 Yes weight is a important factor and that is why we sometimes just have to leave something out. Not always the smartest but just what we have to do i guess. Believe me , we work very hard to be able to experience all of this and it is really rewarding to share it all with you my friend :)
No one sneaking up on that area via sea! What a location. Fun fact, the Germans ultimately had to leave the area because of ants! :D haha hope they didn't get you too much. Very cool chess piece you have there.
It is amazing how much stuff is still in situ, and how well it is preserved, maybe a LIDAR map of the area would give more clues as to what lies in the landscape? Thank you as ever for taking us along, and thank you for yours and EE's hard work and research.
Yes my friend that could really bring out more features for sure and who know we might have a Lidar drone in the future :) Appreciate your great support my friend and take care :)
Great video guys. HH, how do we get up there? EE follow me. Lol. So many obstacles but you got there. Too bad they closed off most of this location, would have been wonderful to see inside. Thank you and EE for the tour, can't wait to see the next location. Take care and stay safe out there. 😊
Sorry, I have been away deployed for the past 3 weeks, but I now have a night to catch up on the stream of video's. This is one amazing site asnd really difficult to reach, well done both of you in climbing up there. The views are breathtaking, thanks for sharing. Stay safe and well my friends
Welcome back my friend and we hope all went well and you are safe and sound. Great explores here and we think you will enjoy part 2 coming soon. Thanks so much :)
I have to say that I am really confused as to why UA-cam would promote the videos that lack in content. I would rather watch a genuine historical video without the sensationalized selective and often slanted crap. The German barbed wire fencing may be nasty, but it sure did the trick. 25 explores 😮- WOW!!! You must have been tired but fulfilled explorers. The underground barrack was interesting with the concrete tiles. It was huge. The original door looked kinda home-like. Extremely interstitial site. Thanks, HH & EE ❤❤
So disappointed that the fire & control bunker is filled in, as I get the feeling it may hold some very cool artifacts. What tells me that is the fact that the camouflage netting is still extant around the actual bunker top. Thanks for this one, a fantastic little adventure!
