My wife and I recently rented two Kayaks in order to see if we could successfully paddle them. We are in our 70's. To my surprise, we can absolutely use these kayaks. One was a Lite Tackle 1 and the other was a CK1 Venture. I am heavier than my wife so I paddled the LT. What I found was that the boat tracked very well, was dry riding and stable in wakes by power boats. There were a few things that I did think could be improved; one was the single position seat and the other was the lack of a cup holder. Both of these shortcomings have apparently been rectified in the LT2. I have been looking at two or three boats and now I am seriously considering the LT2. I have a good bit of canoeing experience and some kayaking history so I kinda know what to look for. The LT2 is now my first choice. Thanks for a great walkthrough on this boat. BTW; One important feature that is missing on almost all kayaks is a solid way to secure them with a cable or chain when storing them outside. Handles can be removed easily without destroying a boat.
You guys nailed this with all the features, storage, seat, handles… the boat is just overall perfect for what I’m looking for (river camping trips, flat water fishing, touring). I can’t wait to go grab one💜🤑
These updates look awesome. Especially love the option for a high seat position and the cam strap looks much easier if one handed. The front hatch looks a lot more secure and easier to into without messing with the bungees . We have the LT and CK1 and both are fantastic. I paddle the LT and envy my wife’s cup holders and side quick storage spots. Those storage areas are great while using the open floor for workspace.
Nice to see you incorporate all of these latest ideas into your original masterpiece. I personally like the new front hatch and the cam buckle system for the seat the most. The other improvements are icing on the cake. Thanks for making GREAT High Quality Paddle Kayaks available to us at a reasonable price.
I love my LiteTackle. When out paddling, I was never envious of anyone else's Kayak. However now, I will see the LiteTackle II and I know I am going to covet it. Excellent Job!
Wow, what a great looking boat. I was already leaning toward the lite tackle from the reviews here on YT, especially from Headwaters Kayak. But wow, this boat looks perfect for the fly fishing I do on the lakes and rivers here in North Central Arkansas. The hard part for me is deciding between this and getting the Crew to include my wife on my adventures. I'm really drawn to your products and company culture. Great job.
I’ve had multiple brands of kayak and keep coming back wanting to try crescent. I love the simple design mentality. Picking up a lite tackle 2 this week and can’t wait!
VERY impressive video and new boat. Crazy attention to detail is insane here. Love the ss hardware you guys use + all the sick new features and strangely enough - think i really love the side storage for my 32oz frozen nalgene bottles. sick idea. as for colors - i tend to prefer the lighter/subdued colors for when it's hot b/c it keeps everything cooler. same goes for the deck track pads..... would always choose the lighter colors to help keep the deck cooler in the heat of summer. now just need a baby blue/camo color and i'm good.
I bought my lt1 a year ago and as much as I love it and have added to it I just hate not having somewhere fo put my beer. In between this and the shoalie next!
It's great for paddling but I hit rocks in river with a Crescent I had in past and it tipped badly, fell out. Is this any better in a scenario of getting stopped on rocks and heavy current causing extreme tippy-ness?
Fantastic overview, I really like your design and quality focus. So who should buy the LT vs Venture vs Shoalie? I mostly fly fish on class 2 to flat water rivers, not sure which model would fit best?
Great question! Justin here, I too am an avid kayak fly angler in rivers of Western NC. They are all great platforms for the discipline but it really comes down to personal preference/needs. I personally prefer the LiteTackle simply because it can store more gear for overnight trips. The Shoalie however will handle shoals and rapids easier with a shallower draft and lower keel. The CK1 is definitely more playful and agile than either. If you're on Facebook, I highly suggest checking out the owner's group. There's a ton of good information and fellow fly anglers in there: facebook.com/groups/crescentkayaks
Awesome!! Love the changes to the LT. Making it hard to decide which one I want to upgrade to. I have the LT and love it but may have to go LT ll or Shoalie.
I love watching you guys expand your line. I find that some kayak companies are slowly getting away from big front hatches that give you full access to the hull. Personally, I love that style. Getting hard to find a good kayak company that does everything in the US these days as well. One small thing I question are the side stash pockets and how long those zippers will last before they lockup from saltwater. Why not velcro? I'm sure I can speak for other angles in general but zippers have a limited shelf life no matter what they are used on. I hope you guys think big picture and make a 13-14' kayak by taking a little from both the LT II and Shoalie. Only reason I haven't purchased anything from you guys is I need something just a little longer....fingers crossed (I'm sure I'm not alone).
Thanks for the love! As of yet, we haven't had an issue with our zippers failing due to saltwater use (our stash pockets also have a year warranty). As with anything used in salt, it's always good to rinse out afterwards (sure you knew that already 😉). In regards to a longer boat, have you checked out the CREW? In the solo configuration, it's one of the most popular models we have for kayak camping and fully-rigged out for fishing.
@@crescent-kayaks Yeah I looked at the Crew but I like to be able to store items inside the hull and it doesn't fit some of my other needs as well. Trust me I thought about it!
I wonder how many of these new features we can retrofit onto our current LTs?!? Especially that front hatch cover! Really wish there would be a way to get that new seat strap as well, but guessing that will be difficult...
Wow amazing presentation with this location James 😎 Proud CK1 customer here. Appreciate the passion and time you place behind these boats. Really love this new lite tackle and that color is amazing. Looks almost like a chameleon type color that changes. Will other colors be available? Would love to see other colors that have this changing dynamic but both of those are amazing 🤩
Thanks for giving it a watch! We have found the rod staggers on the floor work great. There are a lot of options to add rod holders to tracks and also to the mighty mounts. We make cleans systems to be customized. In regards to interior rod tubes we find those often leak and know on the manufacturing end the diagonal hole cut to install never perfectly matches the angle of the rod tube.
Best setting ever for a walkthrough Love it! Can’t wait to give this one a paddle. Crescent definitely did the LT name proud…
Thanks brother! Was best place ever to do a walkthrough also 😂

Lite Tackle 2 is a winner!

What a beautiful boat! Been drooling over videos of the CK1 , but this is just stunning!
new dream kayak! i’ve awalys loved the LT but this is a very tasteful upgrade! great to have something like tangerine back
Had to give the people want they wanted! Thanks for the kind words

Stoked on the new LT II. Already selling the LT as the ultimate fish, camp kayak. Even better now. Let the adventures begin. Nice job.
💪🙏
Thank you for the overview you can tell you guys are very passionate about the design, great job!
Man am I excited for this! I’d love to see many of these similar updates added to the Crescent Crew!!
I couldn't agree more! So hard to decide between the two boats, but loving these new features.

Oh man, such an improvement on my favorite sit on top kayak, great job, looking forward to upgrade from my original lite tackle!!
I’m so excited to get one ! That front hatch is bomb. Time to yak camp
Can't wait to get people into this model!
Asap!
Congrats on another great yak. keep up the great design work... made in the USA!!!

Great walkthrough looks like another winner! Love the upgrades carrying over from the Shoalie where it makes sense. Any plans on a Crew 2.0?
New concepts/designs from here on for awhile
@@crescent-kayaks exciting to hear!
Awesome. I love the revisions. And the price point seems great. I can see fishing tournaments in that yak.
Thanks! We are always pushing for most value as possible

If you compare the hull design to the Shoalie would the main difference be the Shoalie has a little flatter bow..meaning less arch for rivers?
Awesome!! Love the changes to the LT. Making it hard to decide which one I want to upgrade to. I have the LT and love it but may have to go LT ll or Shoalie.
One more Fishing focused and the other a little more paddling focused- both great kayaks

Thanks so much for your support
Please update the CK1 Venture to have the same seating as this and the Shoalie.
Is this boat set up to install a rudder on the stern?
Is the seat comfortable
Yes it currently comes with our upgraded Comfy Seat bottom with additonal memory foam
Trouble with more and more features, is the addition of weight.
We were able to actually cut one of the biggest contributors of weight in half by doing a single wall front hatch!
Why no rod holders? Those ground holders will get in the way.
