      Ahhh, yes I've slowly started looking into the process. One potential problem for me is I have a 365 and I'm still figuring out the best way to maximize space. But one other benefit to installing one on there is balancing the weight of the boat. Right now, mine seems to be bottom heavy so I'm not maximizing the motor. So many things to figure out in this journey!

    I think Todd definitely needs more rods on the boat.

    Scout video! Have you considered a drift sock to slow your drift down?

      Hi Chris, dude I didn't even know that existed but I looked it up after your comment. I may definitely have to invest in one of those, thanks for the tip!

      Hey there, it looks like this product isn't allowed for affiliate linking. Thanks for pointing that out to me. I just searched it and looks like it's still available - Icom IC-m73 is the model and brand. Hope that helps!

    Did you have to register your boat, if so how much?

    • @BenjieKimFishing
      @BenjieKimFishing  Рік тому +1

      Hi mark, I did register it, I can’t remember how much it was but definitely go thru AAA. Super easy and it wasn’t that expensive if I remember correctly.

    Awesome videos Benjie! Is 30-pound test weight Leader too much for Halibut fishing on the shore? Thanks for any advice and help!

    • @BenjieKimFishing
      @BenjieKimFishing  3 роки тому

      Hi Kyle, imo 30 lb might be more than you need. I'm more of finesse guy so I'm using 12 lb fluoro leader most of the time. I have friends that do really well with 20 lb so I'd recommend maybe going down to 20, mostly for maximizing your casting distance.

    What kind of speeds do you get with that 3.5 HP?

    • @BenjieKimFishing
      @BenjieKimFishing  2 роки тому

      Hi Joseph, up to 10 mph but I've been struggling to get my boat to plane. I've got to do some tinkering to find the sweet spot.

    Good episode! Nice to see you out on the open ocean. It’s just a matter of time and you will be chasing yellowtail down in La Jolla! I’ve fished oil platform Esther a few times. It looked like it was a beautiful day out on the water!🎣😃

    That Scout looks like a lot of fun especially considering how easy it is to set up by yourself. As far as repositioning on the water, last weekend a friend showed me a trolling motor he added to his boat and it has a feature where you enter GPS coordinates and the motor will self-drive to keep the boat on that spot. It might add a little too much gear to your Scout but it would make fishing out there a bit easier.

    • @BenjieKimFishing
      @BenjieKimFishing  3 роки тому

      Ahhhh yes spot lock is a game changer. Would def love to have that as an option but ur right, space is an issue on my scout. When I invest in a trolling motor, I’m def gonna consider getting one with spot lock (for bays and lakes)
