i love that the anteaters that eat ants actually don't have digestive acids in their stomachs. instead the ants release a acid when they get swallowed and paradoxically end up dissolving themselves
This is a giant anteater with what they call Panda knees. They have evolved so their legs look like the head of a bear or a panda scare off potential predators. I was totally confused for like 5 minutes until I Google an image and saw another video that breaks down why it looks like this.
Thank you so much! This is my favorite mammal to date, up there with bats. Ummmm you did nudibranchs, ants, mantis shrimp, jellies, ... Maybe the Kiwi Bird? The adorable almost-mammal
Animalogic They do mate for life, and have a high chance of never mating again if their partner dies. They are beautiful, loyal, and beautifully loyal.
+Filip Pytlewski Wow, damn right that's a huge compliment. Not sure how to handle that one, but thank you so much and I'm so glad you enjoy it! We'll keep on improving as far as we can!
Not panda heads, spectacled bear heads, there is a hypothesis that this is an evolutionarily derived trait that helps keep away predators. The spectacled bear can be found in the same habitat as the giant anteater and is related to the panda, although not all of them look like that, some do. When an anteater is being attacked it rears back on its legs and that makes "the bear" also rear back on its legs. The darker ventral parts also bring this illusion more into focus.
The human tongue also has filiform papillas. It is the only one out of our four tongue papillas without tastebuds, and we use them to create friction between the tongue and the food bolus.
I would like to see a video on Tree Kangaroos, those super cute marsupials has remained much of a mystery to me. Love the videos by the way. Keep it up.
You do awesome videos and deserve a lot more subscribers, but if I can make a suggestion, maybe you can add metric units for measurements (like in text or something)? It would make your videos a lot easier to understand for a lot of people IMO.

Me: my entire life was a lie
I guess not many people would pay long-enough attention to the diagram at 3:05 about the termite guts chemistry. Thanks for the extra info!
Its amazing to see how far the channel has gone
Thank you so much! This is my favorite mammal to date, up there with bats.

Animalogic They do mate for life, and have a high chance of never mating again if their partner dies. They are beautiful, loyal, and beautifully loyal.
+Animalogic whoooa you still haven't done pangolins.
You date ant-eaters?
people love making animations of kiwi birds killing themselves or worse
+Animalogic You are a zoological equivalent of +Vsauce. And this is a really huge compliment.
+Filip Pytlewski Wow, damn right that's a huge compliment. Not sure how to handle that one, but thank you so much and I'm so glad you enjoy it! We'll keep on improving as far as we can!
+Danielle Dufault wow why do people even make fake accounts?
Having to explain that your comment is a "Compliment" usually means the opposite,
But I'm sure you knew that
They are more like scishow witch is an excellent channel.
Every time she says "what" 😍😍 so cute how she says
Good "look around you" reference at the end!
I picked up on that too! I remember watching that years ago when I was quite young and getting upset when all the ants died 😂

The anteater is the only animal that the mighty Jaguar will hesitate to attack due to its powerful claws.
Never thought I’d see an episode where it opens with Danielle getting vored by an anteater...
This is probably the 6th time i ask!!! NARWALS!!!!!!!

The animation on the anteater confronting the kangaroo was hilarious!
Finally that came out, I'm so relieved.
I found him
@@trentward5587 I came down looking for him too 😹
One of these dudes, the giant one, showed up at my city one of these days. Perks of living at Brazil's countryside. :)

When she said just what? It literally synced up with my own reaction exactly. So i second that emotion

why is she soo FUCKING cute? I've never wanted to pet a human before her cuteness is fucking insane god dammit.

I would like to see a video on Tree Kangaroos, those super cute marsupials has remained much of a mystery to me.

Your channel is like a animal encyclopedia. Well, we may not remember everything but it's fun to watch like reading that book.

2:11 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 that thug life tho
T-pose attack
I never knew you were secretly the size of an ant... or maybe you just own a giant ant-eater.
its amazing to me that anteaters actually use their claws to brush their hair lol
Ants aren’t the only thing afraid of tackling with an anteater. Jaguars, for example and I’m not kidding.
I still have an animallogic crush on Danielle... Lunch after going to a museum would be like a dream come true 😊😊😊😊
DANIELLE NOOO!!!! Now I'm ALWAYS going to see the panda.
I love the way she introduces herself 😊😅
Thanks Danielle, great video, subbed.

The bastards that swoop
Didnt mention how badass anteaters defense against predators
Still so new to this channel, but I can't get over this chicks awesome style. And do jelly fish next.
Your creativity is great!
At 2:10 the anteater is being pulled up onto it's hind legs by a string attached to the sweater.
They're so cool. They kind of look like a person in an elaborate costume, especially when it was itching itself haha

Can't believe the pangolin isn't a type of ant eater or related to them
I appreciate the LOTR reference, that guy was a slime!
Things you see cannot be unseen
They probably put their arms together to look like a panda and make predators go away
Try a Pangolin next, there like an armadillo and an Anteater combined! Literally!
I agree that the anteater is the perfect villain for ant man
on the outro of the video,
"I want anteaters for my birthday next week.
When you realize you have an anteaters his metabolism
Two weeks ago. After school, while mom was doing an animal quiz, with me, and we where waiting for my brother. I learned that anteaters lay eggs. 🤯
