Something that i found works very well when grilling fish is using those copper grill mats... Literally amazing and makes it so easy to turn the fish without sticking to the grill grates
This is a great idea! I did whole catfish with the bones in, but I went indirect. I had some sticking when I flipped them, so both your direct grilling tip and oiling the grates were great information to try next time I do some. Good stuff! I see this video is about 6 years old, I hope you're still active and cranking 'em out.
Fire Escape Griller I did that one very early on. But thank you! I’m planning another catfish cook soon. This video of your was research. Great channel and I subbed.
I definitely need to try this. I've been grilling fish in a aluminum pouch with vegetables and it comes out pretty good but I want to try this for the grilled/char flavor.
Do you guys get Haddock over there? I worked a place where they got in Panga, which is a catfish and a lot cheaper than haddock (it was being served deep fried in batter) - it was the kind of place where middle management decided the menu by committee. I don't know if Panga is just a bad kind of catfish or whether its typical but it was like a softer watered down haddock. Just wondered what you'd make of Haddock, I am very fond of it myself. Your dish looked delicious tho, 10/10 for the butter on top :D
Texas? I'm from Connecticut and go back and forth from there and New York City. But I do love some grilled catfish-or blackened in a cast iron pan with butter. Cheres Devin!
I grew up frying them never had it any other way but I’ll definitely will be trying this with the fam once the weather gets warmer. Thank you !
Thanks for watching, TreVon. Cheers!
Looks so delicious! I’m going to try this but in the air fryer :) great recipe

Great video recipe. I love catfish and the Weber Q is the only gas grill that has ever impressed me it is a wonderful gas grill.
Thanks Big Lew. For the limited space I have, it's the perfect grill. Just watched your Brisket on the Kettle video and subscribed.

Great video! Going to try, question I have cast iron grates and have grill grates as well which would work? Thank you!
The Weber Q grates are porcelain coated cast iron grates and they work great if you oil them up, even with a delicate fish. Thanks for watching, Adan.
Thanks for this! really appreciated
Eat more fish! Great advice for anyone. Cheers Mathieu.
Nice and healthy
Everyone could use more fish. Cheers!
So cool
Thank you. If you give it a try, let me know how they come out.

Yes, it can be a pain grilling fish. Cheers!

I'm making these for dinner soon! What's the benefit of the butter please?
PMur66 Butter is for flavor. Use really good salted butter like Kerrygold.
What model Weber grill is this?
It's the Weber Q1200. You can see my review here that explains the difference between the models:

Sounds delicious. I'll give that a try.
"Don't have to be afraid to cook fish filet in your patio on a grill"
I reckon if you ain't afraid in Brooklyn you shouldn't be afraid anywhere.. 😏
Thanks for watching. Cheers Dippydo!
Great video, do some crab legs or lobster tail next time!

Hard to beat grilled catfish!
What temp?
Medium heat on the Weber Q. Probably about 400 degrees F.
What’s the temp?
I believe I cooked these at Medium heat. Probably like 400º F.
That and some whiskey
Whiskey and catfish? Yeah I'll buy that.
No aluminum foil?
Not in this recipe. Give it a try for yourself.
@@GallaghersGrub so just use olive oil on grill
@@qevansable Some people will say to use grape seed oil or avocado oil because they have higher smoke points. But I think olive oil works fine.
@@GallaghersGrub 😎 thank you
Dig the thin red line watch
Nathaniel Joy thanks! It’s a Seiko SKX009 if you’re interested. A great watch for the money
@@GallaghersGrub I dig anything thin red line bro!!!
If you want to go uber healthy (sarcasm there), whip up a little Creole mustard aioli!
Great idea! I had some aioli recently with blackened cod and it was fantastic.
Sorry to see your on a fire escape.
That was a few years ago. We have a cabin in the country now. Check some of my newer videos. Cheers Geoatv!
