U have to remember 80% of homicides, robbery and assaults are done by people who know the victim, know of the victim or been around the victim!! Been in the Bronx most my life and only had issues with people I encountered in my own hood or people I knew of!! Of course robbery can be random if you look like you got it!! I live in the Bronx and am NOT near any of this. My neighborhood looks nothing like this at all. These folks love the filth and the chaos. They could change it but won't. Scenes like these are just in a handful of densely overpopulated, rundown and poor inner-cities such as Chicago, LA, Baltimore, NYC and others. Go outside the ghettos of the inner city, and you are very safe and the landscape is beautiful and clean, more or less.

The Bronx looks way better than it did during the 70s & 80's. In fact, even the worst neighborhood in the NYC looks way better than Kensington. With NYC being the most expensive city in the country to live in, I have to wonder where they put their homeless?! Unlike L.A., I can't find a single Skid Row or Encampment anywhere. Louisville needs ideas.
NYC has a very large shelter system unlike pretty much every other american city. Here in LA there are virtually no shelters and most of the ones that do exist are run by private charities not the city
