I’m from Queens and have lived in NYC most of my life. Currently live in Brooklyn. I’ve seen an armored car get robbed, seen people running down the street covered in blood, seen people dying on the sidewalk, seen footage of a friend being murdered in the street, saw a man get hit by the train, have slept in parks and and befriended homeless people, have had both guns and knives pulled on me, have heard screams echo down the street and have seen muzzle flashes that were far too close for comfort. Both were in the Bronx 😂
@@magamaga1827 Yeah, I was a little kid in the early 90s. I bet a bunch of Brooklyn was wild back then. I did hang out in East NY plenty of times in my 20s and never really had any problems, but I knew people there. Same with Brownsville. When you know people it's generally alright. But I'm sure it's not as crazy as it once was. I also lived in Bed Stuy for a few years, right near the slave theater. I was a junkie at that time and definitely got into some sticky situations because of that, but it's becoming gentrified these days. Surprisingly, I've seen some wild stuff in Canarsie, which generally isn't a bad neighborhood. That's where I saw the armored car robbery, which I'm sure there are articles about. Happened right near where I worked. That's also where I saw someone running down the street covered in blood. I was standing outside of my job smoking a cigarette. The person was screaming and chasing after another person, definitely the one who hit them. I'm guessing they hit them in the head with something and all the blood came from their forehead, which tends to bleed a lot. Something similar happened to me when I was a kid. Got bit in the eyebrow by a dog and I bled so much that my whole face was covered in it and it was all over my clothes. Was a gruesome sight but the bite wasn't even that bad. Didn't even require stitches.

Bless us and save us!!!!😱 I can't believe I walked through these very streets while growing up in Mott Haven over sixty years ago that the entire districts, especially Fordham Road, turned the Bronx into a smut and filth borough today. How can it be that Fordham was once a popular shopping site where you could spend the weekends with your family visiting stores, eating in small delicatessens, and participating in social street activities all year round? Watching this upload is not only shocking, but it fills my heart with despair to find nothing but disorder and mayhem among the neighborhoods that were pristine at one time, with residents who rigorously precedented in maintaining the quality of life in the Bronx. Judging by the current outlook of the streets and blocks, I wouldn't go near my old neighborhood if you promised me room and board at the Waldorf because it comes as no surprise that an invader would cut my throat to apprehend my $10.00 watch.

If you want to do this kind of video in another section of NYC, I suggest you do that in the Canarsie section of Brooklyn which is the place I grew up in, it used to be a Mafiosi neighborhood of italians and jews. Now it has become a haven for the east coast chapters of the bloods and crips. You won't find more history anywhere in NYC. The place has a VERY storied past. The movie Goodfellas was about the Canarsie "crew", which to date is recognized as the most violent crew in the history of the Italian mafiia in the U.S. . As kids growing up there, we used to come across dead bodies in Seaview Park. It wasn't anything which shocked us although it should have been. It was a quiet middle class neighborhood on the surface with a severely violent under current.
I know appearances can be deceiving, but I found your ride along of the Bronx and surrounding areas to be very enjoyable and exciting to view. I am aware that when the sun goes down, things can change in a heart beat. But all in all I really did enjoy your video. Bless you my friend.
ESCAPING ALL THE BAD NEWS! Neat video. Never been to NY but want to go someday. I loved that I got to see Yankees Stadium! Thankfully Your video did not match up with what I thought I knew about the Bronx from movies and JLo. It mostly looks like a vibrant family neighbourhood with lots of mom and pop shops. Your appartment block was really nice. Watching from a world away on Vancouver Island Canada in Port Alberni. Subscribed because I want to see more.TY

I'm Asian American from Queens and go up to the Bronx for the night market or Yankees games. It's always all love when I go there and the locals love to chat about random stuff with me. 🤣
Hey that's a bit random but here it is: about ten years ago I had my first and only stay in NYC. We tried to go to as many different boroughs / areas as possible but six days weren't enough to cover it all. Mainly Manhattan, part of Brooklyn, Staten Island and we barely set a foot in Harlem, not even knowing we were there. My wife is from Wenzhou and I realized a lot of Wenzhounese had settled in Queens, so if you have any tip as to where to go next time, which place to see and where to meet the locals, etc I'd be glad. If you're not from there, just ignore this haha. Cheers from Paris.
I visit my sister who lives in the Bronx near 171st & Washington Ave. I’ve never felt scared. It indeed looks this way,and most people leave you alone minding their business. However, with that said, it is an urban jungle. Ugly landscape, littered streets. Crackheads prevalent especially early mornings on Tremont Ave. Most crimes happen at night time as with any other city worldwide. Guns are a common problem with young males. There are pockets of old italian neighborhoods scattered throughout the Bronx, but those are slowly dying out because the younger generation of Italians don’t want to run the family businesses. Gentrification is currently happening in 2024, forcing out many Hispanic and native African residents to leave due to skyrocketing rent prices
Me my girlfriend and some friends went to New York in February 2024, and this was the exact street where our hotel was located, (Opera House Hotel at minute 26:40), So many memories in this video!!! It can be a little intimidating walking around that area, especially during night time and it is definitely a very different environment compared to Manhattam. It snowed a lot during that time while we were there, but overall we had a blast in New York! But anyway like you said "if you don't bother people, nobody is going to bother you." Thank you for the footage 🗽

As kids growing up there, we used to come across dead bodies in Seaview Park. It wasn't anything which shocked us although it should have been. It was a quiet middle class neighborhood on the surface with a severely violent under current.
That dead end block is beautiful to me! With those cute doors to the lower apartments love it! Very nice! Good and Bad in every neighborhood!!
They must be new of course theyre gonna be good

I've never been to NY before but thank you for this tour. It was like being there without being there thank you again for the tour.
The state of New York is much larger than N.Y.C. also. There is a Lot of Country and small towns in the State as Well.🙂
It’s not like being there. It’s like watching a video on UA-cam.
I know appearances can be deceiving, but I found your ride along of the Bronx and surrounding areas to be very enjoyable and exciting to view. I am aware that when the sun goes down, things can change in a heart beat. But all in all I really did enjoy your video. Bless you my friend.
When the sun goes down other things go down!
Either you're being facetious or you're trash urself
The Bronx at night depends where can be um like a 3rd world country ... especially by Yankee stadium ...
@@johnmc3862 Pedestrians, I suppose
Sht I grew up in a time when it didn't matter if the sun was out and 80% that was abandoned ran by street gangs...what a difference from the 80s
That brought back many memories of my childhood since i grew up around there in the 1970's
I used to live in the Bronx and this is depressing to watch !! SMH
Great job covering the areas though 👍
ESCAPING ALL THE BAD NEWS! Neat video. Never been to NY but want to go someday. I loved that I got to see Yankees Stadium! Thankfully Your video did not match up with what I thought I knew about the Bronx from movies and JLo. It mostly looks like a vibrant family neighbourhood with lots of mom and pop shops. Your appartment block was really nice. Watching from a world away on Vancouver Island Canada in Port Alberni. Subscribed because I want to see more.TY
Yeah, I’m trying to stay away from the news, politics especially, as well. It’s hard to do, right? I live upstate. NYC is really quite an experience. Enjoy beautiful Vancouver Island!
I used to work in the area of Yankee Stadium. It is not dangerous, but it is dirty.
I came here in 2015... & nothing has changed !!! Nice video very smooth
@moussetache1815 maybe Flushing, Queens. Jackson heights or Woodside. Check them out
I visit my sister who lives in the Bronx near 171st & Washington Ave.
Puerto Ricans aswell as Italians➡️🏃🏃♀️
Your use to the trash I’m from Florida this looks terrifying
@@RochellB46 yes, I use to live in FL also. In comparison to many states, NYC is a dump

But anyway like you said "if you don't bother people, nobody is going to bother you."
Thank you for the footage 🗽
@31:49 nothing to see here, my man is just getting a drink from the fire hydrant lol
What kind of stabilizer are you using to record? Incredible clean and steady footage.

Sylvan Terrace is not a part of the Bronx. It is located in Washington Heights in Upper Manhattan just above Harlem.
It's also an extremely expensive block, those lil townhouse apartments are $$$$$$$$$
Looks like the place Rocky Balboa was living on the first movie, but that was Philadelphia.
i thought it was in manhattan
Facts .. I’m from Wagner & ppl forever mistake this
Whats with the tiny front doors?
We need more of these. Subscribed.
The thing that hurts the most is seeing the men lying on the ground and all that rubbish left on the ground, as if time could take care, instead of us humans... 😌🙂
You never been to Harlem then… homeless on ground is typical from the very very little I saw

Lie i know very well where he is living..its my neighbor
First time seeing the Bronx apart from the movies I didn’t realise Yankee stadium was that close to the centre of the Bronx
It wouldn’t look as bad if the place had a goof clean up do they not employ road sweepers? Anyway fascinating video👍👍
Wow, looks like the Bronx really cleaned itself up since the 70's. Good job! Keep it up!

Great video! What kind of camera did you used to make that video?
New York greatest city in America my ars!
Very smooth 🤌🏽 perfect
What camera did you use?
I really love the speed at which this is produced. I get to visit cities in the comfort of my home on a 60" screen. Good Job! Subbed.
Glad you like it!
It isn't the same through a screen (no matter how big) at all. But this place is not worth visiting. You should try getting off your ass and visiting a city that is worth it tho, gramps.
Normally I don't comment. Great video. Felt like a mini vacation
Super video! Thx a virtual walking! What type is your camera?
I'd like to know what camera was used too.
Thank you! I didn’t get to visit those parts when I travelled in NYC last Summer. Very cool city, love it
At times during this amazing video, it felt like you were in a 3rd world country.
But everyone I have talked to who is from NYC or has lived there always speaks so lovingly about it, and about the special vibe and enrrgy of it. 👍
They respect were they are from but no there is no positivity among living in a drug run down poor neighborhood.
Not much white person😂😂
Go through one of the 100s of thousands of trailer parks in the Midwest and south, then tell me if the story is similiar.
Great video! I am from Greece and never been to usa. The only idea I had for Bronx was from hip hop artist krs one - south Bronx i was listening when I was young. Nice to see that people walk free and nobody mess with nobody ❤
GTA " The Great Depression "

Parts of the Boogie Down Bronx are real screwed.....
The homes at the start of this are so cool. I looked them up and some of them are renovated nicely and pretty pricey.

I really enjoyed watching this as a traveler who has recently relocated and settled a bit back home this made feel like I was outside . ❤
I can see where certain areas would be a little dangerous at late night. But pretty cool during the day.
Another eye-opening walking tour brother, seeing the highs & lows of this part of the Bronx, but seeing Yankee Stadium really warms my heart (life-long Yanks fan here)

Gracias por mostrar una realidad y un gran contraste entre dos zonas muy diferentes, en particular la rica. "The way people romanticize poverty, neglect, filth, idleness, and everything else seen in this video is nauseating."
What has happened to the Bronx man. 70 years ago that was the best place in New York. So many famous people lived there, and it was a massive center of tourism.

Not gon hold you… i lived in polo grounds.. & 149 3d Ave in the X... Trust me these blocks lol…. Gotta go more deep in the neighborhood thats when u gon see the goons out word..
Lol. Bronx is not dangerous unless you're in a gang. Besides that, its fine. It's usually the crazy people with mental illness that cause the problem. Gangs always cause harm to other gangs or school related. I use to live in a lot of these areas. Even where the guy that was on the ground thats on Fordham RD. There are homeless and rehab clinics in that area
