Little different with Update. Their characters, while in many ways exaggerated versions of themselves, are still just, themselves. Seth laughed a lot.

Sarah's energy and confidence are amazing. She presents herself as an SNL veteran.
She is certainly loud. I guess that's a sign of confidence.

All I want for Christmas is to find out that this skit isn't completely scripted, and she actually has multiple different jokes prepared, complete with graphics, depending on how Colin responds to every question.
Sarah is a 70s host of a children's show reincarnated.
Who, apparently, switched souls with several crude comedians and experimental artists who dabble in obscene and shocking body art (you know, the kind of art they have court cases and heated debates about what is considered "freedom of speech" and "freedom of expression")
I also see a little bit of Rebecca Sugar if she was raised on reruns of Laugh-In and Ren and Stimpy knock-off shows (like CatDog, Schnookums and Meat, Cow and Chicken, etc) instead of magical girl anime.
She's also a 70s SNL cast-member returned in a time machine.
That would be a great show.
Her look definitely reminds me of some of the teachers I had in kindergarten and first grade circa1972...🤣

The problem with SNL is that when a bit works, they keep going back to it until it does become no longer funny.

This has been a fantastic addition to SNL this season. Sarah is hilarious from her outfits to her hair to her jokes. And watching how uncomfortable she can make Colin (with help from Che) is just a great bit. Love how the crowd is really getting into this, too. Buahahaha!!
watching this with my parents was a true test of will. i held in so much laughter i almost combust, and now i'm back here 4 minutes after it came up on youtube to see it again and enjoy it free from judgement.

The thing I appreciate most about these is not the outrageous headlines, but what it says about our ability to sensationalize everything without taking into account the context and nuance behind what is going on and how that causes our understanding of seemingly major stories to either be blown out of proportion or totally incorrect altogether. The fact that Sarah Sherman does that while we are laughing our butts off makes it all the better. I worry that too many people aren't getting the point.
