- Visiting a new location and exploring a new underwater area I have make the most of the amazing water clarity and find some wonderful underwater sea creatures. Fish, Crabs, Seaweeds, Soft Corals and a huge Octopus. Without question some of the best diving of my life. What an incredible experience. Then all finished off with a beach fire cookup.

Without question the underwater scenes in this video are some of the most amazing I have ever seen. If you enjoyed them, please give the video a 👍🏻 and share it on with your friends. 😊🐙
I was blown away by all the life that's thriving down there.
Amazing footage! Its got to be a lot of fun being down there seeing all that.
Hi John, great footage and thanks for variety of episodes. I am just getting into beach fishing due to watching the channel for the last year. How far out from the shore are you in this dive?
Oh What a Beautiful video! I hope James feels better soon. That footage of the octopus was so much fun to watch. And when you panned around and all you see is just so many crabs everywhere was so satisfying to see. I really like that "Take 5" system that you have. I shall adopt that way of life for now on. I think small acts like that really make a huge difference. I hope you and Hannah enjoy that Lobster and I hope your whole family has a wonderful day 😊
@@judevicious3333 Yeah really keeps that camera steady and focused. I am super envious of all that adventure. Beaches where I live have some starfish, crabs, and occasional lobster and I'm hoping this summer to find scallops that I hear are in a local beach. Waters I think are colder here.
The underwater bit was magical...everything was moving so slow even the octopus was in no hurry and so clear you could see forever
Sealife like much of nature will react to your behaviour and energy. If you are calm and unthreatening they will remain calm also.
The dive footage was top class. And all done while holding your breath. This one is the best so far. Wishing a speedy recovery for James.🇺🇸
James has just recovered from chicken pox. A right of passage I feel for all kids. Thank you for the well wishes and take care Roger. God bless. 😊
@@TheFishLocker oh ffs. I had chicken pox as a child. Still got a scar to prove it. I remember being covered with a pink lotion that didn't do much good. Are there not jabs for it these days?
@@TheFishLocker Be thankful James has had chicken pox as a kid. I didn't, I caught it as an adult and it was very unpleasant. Long lasting and painful at times, thankfully I was spared the itching. It was probably the reason I had Bell's palsy, where part of your face goes numb, a few years later. And there is a good chance that I may get shingles too, because of the chicken pox! Though thankfully I've had an injection from my GP that makes that less likely or at least much milder.
Where I’m from I had the chickenpox vaccine so I never got it you should see if you can get him a shingles vaccine it’s afflicted my pops
@@Jo-yp8wy There is a jab for everything these days.lol. It was called calamine lotion. I had it and it stopped me going to France in in 1977, haha. We were stronger then.. Had mumps and stopped the family going to Holland. I was so popular, not, so these days I don't have any virus so I can go fishing ... :)
You really are a natural. You deserve a commissioned show, because you make the sea accessible to all. Fisher folk, foragers and lovers of the natural world, you cover it all. Without equal and exception, you absolutely nail it every single time. Very well done and very useful. Thank you for producing it. Magic.
It is my pleasure sir.
Octopi are my most favorite animals. They are the closest thing to aliens that we have on this earth. They are the farthest removed family that have still developed brains and intelligence and abstract thought. Truly some of the most remarkable animals on Earth.
Fascinating aren’t they. 😊🐙
So much variety there, we have the fish species, but I’m jealous of your crustaceans. Nice video.
Thank you Andy. This is the prime time of year to dive like this before the seaweeds grow too thick. 😊
A Sunday with fish locker! Perfect
Sunday ritual. 😊👍🏻🐙
You must be so proud to be a custodian of such a healthy, vibrant and beautiful reef
We simply do as we feel is right.
Thank you, John. This dropped just as i was taking a break from fixing the heater blower in the wife's car and needing this to calm my nerves :) well done, Sir.
Mark
Haha. Glad we could bring a bit of chill to your day. 😊👍🏻
Foraging videos are my favorites 🙌🏻 The fishing ones are awesome but these foraging ones relax me. 🙂 Keep them coming, please.
I shall do my best. 👍🏻
Good evening John, that Octopus 🐙 was fantastic and the water so so clear. What a Beautiful place, won't ask its wear abouts cos you won't say lol but so beautiful. That Bull huss was not to pleased with you, angry things aren't they.Hope James get better real soon.....hello James ❤ and Hannah all the very best 🌱🌱🌱💕
Thank you so very much Joyce, yes James is recovering from Chicken pox so he was not feeling like the beach but he’s ok now thank you. Best wishes and have a lovely day. 😊🐙
beautiful clarity!!
Stunning wasnt it. 😊
No BS here. Educational, entertaining - simply awesome. Thanks John. Get well James.
Simple, honest and original content. We don’t do clickbait or BS. 😊👍🏻🐙
This, what you've done here, is truly something else. I'm shook. What a beautiful video. All the blessings to you and your family.
Thank you very much Nate. 😊👍🏻👍🏻
That is, perhaps, the most astounding underwater video. Cousteau would be proud.
Thank you Bill. I am really happy with it. 😊
The underwater footage is magical,
Thank you. 😊
This episode should be submitted in a UA-cam contest for its content, editing and performance. Your ethos and ageless enthusiasm for life is inspiring. Thank you for the gift of your view of this wonderful world!
We are simply sharing what we know and love doing in the hope it helps folks out in some way. Wether that is by education, escapism or simply by providing a positive distraction. 😊
Great clarity under the surface. Nice job with this one, John
Thank you. 😊
This vid is the new level of quality! Thank you. Those colours, those creatures... Awesome.
Every now and then I make one and I think to myself. That was really special. This was one of those times. 😊🐙
That beginning was such a cool and scenic way to introduce us to the video
Thank you.
Truly a pleasure to watch John as always hope you and the family are doing well. Many thanks for the videos.
Thank you, yes we are all well. 😊👍🏻
I did wonder what your plan was when you picked up the dogfish hehe. I have great respect for the balanced approach you have toward your coastal foraging - releasing the crab was a class act, and the take 5 thing is a great idea, presented in an inspiring, rather than preachy way.
I hope that the take 5 thing resonates with people, as it doesn't take much to make a difference 😊
Beautiful water, what a lovely day.
Simply stunning. 😊👍🏻
Thank you very much again John say hello to everyone and please stay safe.
Thank you keith and have a wonderful day. 😊😊
Such a beautiful day out to be filming. The water is so crystal clear, amazing photography.
Thanks John we absolutely enjoyed it.
I am glad that you enjoyed the video, please feel free to share it on with anyone you feel may enjoy it. 😊🐙
These videos are so peaceful. I’ve always wanted to live near the ocean. Thanks for sharing this with us.
I hope that you find your way to the sea. 😊👍🏻🦀🐙
Stunning…anemone on kelp was cute. Family of crabs…everything was
Glad you enjoyed the video. 😊👍🏻
Hope James is feeling better! Always enjoy the precocious wee lad!
He is all better now. He was recovering from chicken pox. 🤷🏻♂️
gota say as a recent subscriber, appreciate the work you put in with filming. basically walking the path u choose twice, once to set up camera, another to actually film the shot. and editing. well done with the vids dude, your life is an amazing fulfilling life for sure thanks for sharing
Thank you. Very few people actually consider what it takes to make the films and edit them. I hope the videos help to bring a little bit of positivity to peoples lives. 😊👍🏻🐙🦀
Hope the wee mans ok and makes a speedy recovery, another cracking video again keep up the good work love from Scotland 🤝🇬🇧
He’s been recovering from chicken pox so he’s good now. 👍🏻😊
Love the “trifecta of crustaceans”. Perfect.
Thanks Rob. 🦀🦀🦞
Who needs Florida. Beautiful footage. Thank you. 😍😍
Haha. Glad you enjoyed it Shiela. 😊
Wow the water looks crystal clear 😯
The footage of the octopus was amazing. I find them, and all Cephalopods fascinating, they are super intelligent, and they are so different biologically to any other species. Great video, thank you for making my day ☀️
Special aren’t they. 👍🏻🐙
That was spectacular John, a pleasure to watch at the end of a long day, thank you 💜
Glad you enjoyed it Naomi. 😊
W O W,,, THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO MAKE THESE DYNAMIC VIDEOS,,,, THESE ARE NOT EASY TO DO,, AND QUITE TIME CONSUMING,,, YET YOU DO THEM AND PRESENT THEM VERY,, VERY,, WELL !!! FANTASTIC CHANNEL,, PLEASE BE SAFE AND HEALTHY,,, !!!
Thank you for the positive feedback. Have a lovely day. 😊👍🏻
Interesting underwater footage. The octopus was the star of the show.
That octopus just blew me away!!
Great intro with blended clips of your rocky shore trek. Pristine water! Showy animals in their particular habitat. Especially that camo-8-legged creature... :-) The video was clear and fun. The bit of critter wrestling made me tickled to see...payback time ;-) Appreciate all the craft you apply so that we have a fantastic experience watching!
Thank you very much. Every now and then I make a video and when it’s finished I look back and think. Yeah, I’m proud of this one. 😊👍🏻
John - That pile of crabs that you had at 02:25 was quite remarkable. So much rudeness going on with them underwater. Please draw the curtain when you leave. The octopus tag was very well done too. Cheers ;-)
The Octopus was lovely, and a good size, as was the urchin, but I was amazed by the amount of spider crabs and spiny star fish. Always love the conservationist and morals you teach the family. We have to keep this planet the best we can, or one day it won't be here, and neither will we as a species. We're meant to live here in harmony with the rest of the world, not destroy or try and control it, as so many have. If we take care of Nature, she takes care of us.
Conservation is everyones responsibility. 😊
Thanks once again. Simply magic . Be there soon !
It is our pleasure. 😊👍🏻
Can't believe how long you can hold your breath. The footage was beautiful at times breath taking. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe out there.
It’s all just with a bit of practice. 😊👍🏻
Glad you just observed the Octopus. I have eaten them in the past but they're just too smart and have too much personality for me to eat them now. Great video John. Appreciate the visuals, the cooking and the Environmental message. Love it.
Wonderful part of an intricate ecosystem. 😊🐙
I missed your informative commentary on this video, but I do appreciate that that adds an extra layer of work to your editing. Stunning footage!
I have had people request just a chill soothing soundtrack. So I’m in a place where I can’t do both. 🤷🏻♂️
The view under water was fantastic. Along with the music, it was very relaxing and infinitely beautiful. Could have watched that all day.
I am glad that the chill mood properly transferred over in the video. I love it. 😊
so beautiful...the forest of the sea. It's like you can find something new in every nook & cranny 😍
That is exactly what it is like. You never know what you may find. 😊
Above and beyond John , that was bloody brilliant ! When you were with the octopus I saw a giant spider crab, it looked huge.
That water was crystal clear, amazing, and I've said it before,, the amount of life down there blows my mind, in other Countries their seas are dieing, ours seem to getting better and better.
I hope James is ok .
And thanks for the video and the replies,
Your a good man 👍🏴
It was a BIG one wasn't it. I was preoccupied with the octopus though. 😬 James is doing fine now, recovering from Chicken pox. Take care mate. 😊👍🏻
How stunningly beautiful our shoreline is, thank you for posting.
It is my pleasure. 😊👍🏻
@@TheFishLocker 😁👍
As always, stunning and beautiful. Thanks Mr Locker.
My pleasure Katrine. 😊
John, your videos just get better and better. Thank you.
Thank you Terence. 😊👍🏻
Everything under water was Beautiful John.👍 enjoyed my Sunday with you, it's always exciting for me. Hope your feeling better James.💋 and Happy Mother's Day Hannah❤ take care my Fish Locker Family.
Thank you and have a lovely day. 😊👍🏻
This is the best diving video yet 👏 especially with the massive 🐙 the star of the show.
Another enjoyable catch and cook on beach is living the life.
That Octopus was just amazing wasnt it. 😍🐙
Holy moly. The giant octopus and a giant spider crab behind it at 3:52 how amazing
Had the same spider crab lunch on the beach over the weekend. Zero food miles, zero by-catch, zero pesticide, fertiliser or pollution. I hope others see this and try it for themselves. So easy and so delicious!
Doesn’t get any fresher either does it. 😉🦀
Not to mention the cost... particularly at a time of rising food inflation!
The clarity of the water and THAT OCTOPUS!!! Wow!!! Absolutely one of my favorite videos so far. For some reason, I got quite emotional watching the underwater scenes. Really beautiful.
Hope James feels better soon. ❤️❤️❤️
As do I. It always takes me so long to find the right soundtrack to fit the mood of the footage. 😊👍🏻
Cracking video John.
Loved the fantastic underwater footage, great to see those Cornish waters teeming with so much diverse life. Never cooked spider crab that way before, will be giving it a try.
As someone who spends a lot of time by the sea and often collect, cans, plastic bottles, balls of tangled mono, etc. I particularly appreciate your end comments. Not heard of "Take 5" before, well done on publicising it and promoting the importance of cleaning up our seas and coastline.
It is my pleasure my friend. I feel that conservation is everyones responsibility and if I can help to encourage things like the take 5 then I shall. We have always had that mindset. 😊
beautiful underwater cinematography!
Thank you very much. 😊👍🏻
Absolutely stunning underwater footage.
A couple of months ago I got a wetsuit. I've just added the rest: mask, snorkel, fins, etc.Went for a pootle about by Dunbar harbour. Didn't catch a lobster for ma tea but had a magic time anyway. Thank you for all you do, John. Mark
Mark I absolutely love it. The underwater videos are my absolute favourite.
Nice dive session and great footage bud. The Octopus was a beaut, as well as the hiding Conger and the Bull Huss, nice to see the water gin clear. Could smell that cooking Spider Crab from here lol. All the best and thanks for sharing, and I hope James feels better soon. Stay safe
Thank you very much and have a great day. 😊
Love your videos John especially your underwater vids 👍
I have to admit they are some of my favourites. 😊👍🏻
Great underwater footage, the octopus was so nice
Amazing wasn’t it. 😊👍🏻
Could happily sit and watch that underwater footage all day long. Brilliant video as usual..
Stunning isn't it. 😊
my favourite fishing/foraging programme. John has such a knowledge of all the flora and fauna of the land and sea. He has so much enthusiasm for the real world.Good luck and keep the programmes going.
Thank you John. 😊👍🏻
What can I say John but that was one of your finest, and the music was perfect amazing content and if everyone took only 5 items with them these gems would be a far cleaner and healthier place to enjoy 👍
I spent probably 2 hours searching through songs and tweaking bits until I found some I thought were suitable. 👍🏻🐙
Very enjoyable, great to see what’s around our coast.
Glad you enjoyed the video Paul. 😊👍🏻
Such an array of sea vegetation that we don’t see. Awesome.
Wondeful isn’t it. 😊💙
Great way to make a living John another great video appreciate the effort you make to bring us this great content from a beautiful part of England
I am an engineer mate. This is just my passion. 😊👍🏻
Mesmerising dive, then food of the gods. perfect day.
Doesn't get much better does it mate? 😊
Wow, amazing underwater footage. The Octopus was brilliant to see 😁
Glad you enjoyed it, the octopus blew me away. 😊🐙
wow that water looks amazing. never been to Cornwall
On a good day there’s nowhere better. 😉👍🏻
You’ve got too visit Cornwall especially the north coast by Hayle. The beaches and seas are Breaking taking🙂👍🏻
Haven't seen you in awhile, life has been getting in the way. I do love the under water videos.
We took trip to Northern California and did a lot of fishing and foraging with friends. Every time my son would catch fish or crabs, he would say, " what do you think of this, John " . I thought he was going daft until he explained he was hoping someone was taping and he could send you the footage. Im sorry, you won't be getting a video from him. Was a much deserved week vacation.
Haha. That’s is so awesome. If you do film a clip be sure to send it over to the Fishlocker Fb page. 💙👍🏻🦀
Finally!! I get to watch this one John. Just so good - as always. My thanks to you and the family once once more mate.
Will do Mike. 😉👍🏻
Oh my! There was an enormous spider crab in the second octopus clip! Never seen one so big!
He was a big one wasnt he. 😊🦀
Yet another cracking video John it's reinforces why we're so lucky to live in Cornwall the footage absolutely stunning, I look forward to seeing more of these underwater foraging videos and you know it wouldn't be a fish locker video without catching a bull huss 🤣🤣
Haha. Wouldn’t be the same without a doggy. 🤣
Thankyou John for the beautiful dive footage, you have made my mother's day thankyou for all u do for the environment as well.lots of love from Minnesota
It is absolutely my pleasure. Give her our love and have a wonderful day. 😊💙🐙
That octopus footage is brilliant

Thank you Gloria. 😊
What an incredible underwater journey! So much life everywhere you look, and that water clarity was 👌Thank you for sharing this amazing footage, it helps me a great deal to soothe down and relax as I watch your videos in the evening. That little cove for the cookup looked so peaceful and pure in the sun... I wish I can do that too, one day. Hope James will feel better soon, cheers!
I am glad that our videos can bring you a little peace. Thank you James is back to normal. 😊👍🏻
Another fantastic underwater adventure with beach cookup. Love watching your underwater footage. Wishing James a speedy recovery 😀
Thank you Lynda. 😊👍🏻🐙
I think this was one of the most naturally grounding video I have watched that was also entertaining. Making us feel close to our roots john ! Top work !
I am glad that you have enjoyed joining me on the shore. 😊
Octopii are one of my favourite marine creatures. This footage was so captivating! And the little colony of spider crabs was a lovely spot. You're becoming a right Cousteau!
Those piles of crabs are congregating to moult. 👍🏻🦀
That intro was great, bet it took a bit of time setting up, but well worth it 👍👍
Just having a bit of a play. 😊👍🏻
This has to be one of the best underwater videos I've seen in a long time. The diversity of life in just off our shores here in the south west is stunning.. Thank you for sharing.
It is my pleasure Amanda. 😊
It just amazes me the beauty God has given us through his creation. It truly is amazing.
On a good day there is nowhere better. 😊
Beautiful dive video, almost wanted to cry seeing that octopus.
It is probably one of the best things I’ve ever seen and filmed .
I'm not an angler, but the Fish Locker videos are absolutely brilliant. Find them really interesting and really relaxing. Great way to just relax for an hour or two and watch a handful of videos and its really interesting to see stuff like the conservation efforts with V notching and keep requirements. Superb underwater footage on this one with the octopus. Definitely a channel worth subscribing to and spending time catching up on the back catalogue of videos as well as the latest updates.
Thank you very much Alistair I am glad you enjoy the content so much. Best wishes to you and the family and take care. 😊
Hellooo! Thank you so much for a new video😊🥳
It is my pleasure 😊🦀🦞
@@TheFishLocker whoohooo! My favorite youtuber responded😁
Your videos always make me homesick for Cornwall ............ I grew up in St. Mawes, now living in Australia.
Swapped one lovely place for another. 😊👍🏻
So beautiful!!!!
Incredible wasn’t it. 😊🐙
Amazing video John. I do love the underwater videos. amazing to see the octupus. I thought they lived out at sea far from the shore. Look forward to the next video. Best wishes to the Fishlocker family and i hope James feels better soon. From a sunny Plymouth.
Thank you Nathan and take care mate. 😊👍🏻
Thank you John, the underwater sequences were really beautiful. What struck me was the amazing diversity of life down there. Not just the obvious things like the wrasse, bull huss and conger. But sea slugs, spiny starfish? and other weird inhabitants of the deep! I saw great shoals of fish in the distance I couldn't quite make out. Were they sand eels?
Yes there are loads of bait fish around at the moment, sandeel of al sizes all over the place. 😊
Omg. That octopus. Amazing. Another great video.
Stunning wasnt it. I was blown away 😍🐙
That was spectacular. The colours under the water are so vivid and beautiful.. worried me that you were holding your breath for so long.
The underwater footage in this video is some of the best I have ever filmed. Truly amazing. 😊🐙🦞
That has got to be one of your best foraging/diving videos ever thanks John! The footage of the Octopus and Mr Bull Huss was incredible. Also the best explanation of how to prepare a Spider or 'Cornish King' crab. If you did that in an oven, how long would you reckon to cook it? We've found Sainsburys extra strong foil is the best - twice as good as other brands. Hope James is feeling better, and the rest of the Fam are good - stay safe & well!
Thank you very much mate I'm glad you enjoyed it. I honestly wouldn't know about oven cooking times. I have never done one in an oven sorry. James is all good now, recovering from chicken pox so just uncomfortable. 😉👍🏻
What an awesome dive, amazing diversity of flora and fauna, great footage- only way it could have been better was if we'd been there to share dinner. Appreciate your knowledge of the area there and your respect for it. Your videos are a pleasure to watch.
Thank you very much, it is my pleasure to share the video with you. Best wishes to you and your family and take care. 😊👍🏻
Incredibly Amazing on your knowledge of all in the sea creatures, especially when you explained about the Crab cleaning and preparation.
I hope the videos help folks out. 😊🦀
Brilliant footage pal! We would all LOVE to see the underwater wrestle though 👍🏻
I put in a little bit of it. Thankfully you can’t hear curse words underwater. 🤣
Great job mate! Once again, some of the most wholesome and enjoyable footage. Really hope we can fish some day. Cheers from Canada.
Thank you very much. Take care and stay safe. 😊👍🏻
John...Where you live is absolutely amazing. The underwater video footage was beautiful and the sea seems like it is abundant with wildlife. I can only imagine the taste of the shore lunch. My mouth was watering. Always enjoy your videos...this one was especially good. Hope James is recovering and the family is healthy.
Thank you very much. James is back to full health after chicken pox and we are all well. Best wishes to you and your family and take care. 😊
Absolutely amazing footage of what swims and lives beneath the surface off our beautiful coastline
Glad you enjoyed the video Debra. 😊
For a moment there I thought we might be having an octopus cookout!
Great footage!! That conker gave me fright not gonna lie
The snowflakes would have been outside my house with placards had I snaffled that octopus mate. 🤣🐙
@@TheFishLocker to be fair it was such a majestic animal
Stunning footage, John!
It almost seemed as though everything was asleep, was there a reason for that? Or is that just the creatures at rest?
That spider crab was a well deserved reward for the share of such an incredible dive experience. Thank you.
Oh, forgot to say, the _Take 5_ idea is simple GENIUS, and my family and I are 100% going to start living by it.
I have found that most animals in the wild will react to your energy and body language. I was relaxed and unthreatening, so they were calm enough to just ignore me. 😊
